So guys... am currently having this argument with my sponsor. He says it's incorrect to write his sponsors letter on his employers letter head. That he can only do that if he has his own company and he doesn't have one. He further says that you don't write personal letters on your employers letter head. Is he correct

My parents wrote theirs on their office letterhead.

When you submit your application and you are called for biometrics, within how many days must the biometric be done?
You have 30 days from the date you submit your application online to provide your biometrics at a CVAC or VFS office. If you read your biometrics letter thoroughly the exact date the 30 days will elapse is stated on it.

My dear... I've always known it's a wrong tin to do... but I usually see on here that people write sponsors letter on their letter head... just didn't occur to me that it must hv been written on the sponsors personal company letterhead. My bad! quote author=tnuola post=36511084]

Lol.. Like seriously you shouldn't even ask this kinda question o, your sponsor is too correct.
He doesn't own the company and you want him to write the sponsorship or personal letter on the letter head of a company he doesn't own?
Biko type suntin on a plain sheet of paper.

You might not know but its more like fraud.
I did not use letterhead. After 'Yours faithfully' and his name, I included his organisational email address and phone number.

Good news at last!!!!! I can't thank God enough! After getting med. Call on the dreaded 3rd of July. This is the hand of God!!!!!

Submitted: May 19, 2015
Medical request: July 03, 2015
Medical passed: July 10, 2015
Application Approved: July ??(didn't get an approval mail)
Passport collected: July 30, 2015

Documents submitted: All CIC forms
and requirements including; confirmation letter from the institution, IMM1294E, IMM5645E, passport.
1. Proof of finance: (sponsor's) bank statements, notarized letter of sponsorship, company registration documents, landed documents.

2. Letter of explanation, WAEC results, degree certificates and transcripts, birth certificate, CV, proof of national service completion, study leave letter and letter of introduction of dad's company(didn't state my salary).

I didn't submit my pay slip or SOA, or pay tuition.

As regards this JULY 3rd issue, I don't think it was a system error, I would rather agree slightly with the people who said superior officers reviewed the apps, the visa was issued on the 13th of july while the POE letter also had the same date and the passport only got dispatched on the 22nd of july.

All I could see is GRACE GRACE and more of God's GRACE!!!!! Although I'm a silent follower and have never asked question I came here weneva I needed help and got very useful answers. You guys have no idea how many lives u have impacted with your contributions, the massive followership this thread enjoys is no fluke!! U guys have been really helpful. I can't evn start to mention names. Its a big happy family!!!

Thank you all, thank you!

There's no need taking cash along if you can get a deal lik this..

The rates fluctuates though. My last transaction before Sunday was about $176 to N1.

He doesn't owe her cos that's not part of the agreement to render her services..Infact its a coded deal btw the school and the agent. Hence he has every right to pay his fees where he wants to pay it.

I have stated my opinion and it still remains that the agent processed her admission to the school and did all the necessary things for her to get her TRV to study in that school knowing that (s)he gets some commission from the money the student pays in tuition. I do not think they had any arrangement that she can change schools once her TRV is approved thus, your last sentence to me is not relevant here.

Thanks, please do you have an idea of how much the exchange rate plus commission is via the ATM in Calgary with the above mentioned banks??

You don't have to bother too much as the rates will be uniform depending on who the card service (Mastercard or Visacard) is because they have their exchange rate channeled in line for the official exchange rate of each country.

Please who knows the exchange rate of Stanbic / Diamond bank on an ATM is Canada.

How far does it differ from the Standard Internet Rate of NGN 152.9

This information is vital please.
The exchange rate of Naira to Canadian Dollars, US Dollars, GBP, Euro etc are determined by market forces on a daily basis which greatly influences what Mastercard or Visa or American Express etc will in turn use to determine the exchange rate for the day. So when you use your Visa or Mastercard on an ATM abroad three things are applicable.
1. The exchange rate for the day as set by Mastercard or Visa
2. The minimum currency conversion rate/charge of 2.5%
3. The ATM international withdrawal charges.

Please Note that 1,2 and 3 are subject to change at any time but 2 and 3 are determined by the bank which issued your Visa or Mastercard and varies from one bank to another. So if I make a withdrawal in Canada with Diamond Bank Visa card as an instance.
1 - Will be determined by Visa
2 - Will be 8% (as stated in the last newsletter i recieved from Diamond Bank)
3 - Will be NGN 240.
Finding out the currency conversion rate is always tricky as not all Nigerian Banks state what it is. It is only Diamond that has so far informed me of the increase from 2.5% to 4.5% and then from 4.5% to 8% via it's newsletter other banks i use did not say a word. So best stick with either Stanbic or Diamond as they have favourable currency conversion rates for now.

He is very correct...that will amount to misconduct on his part..he is just an employee and he should not conduct his personal business (sponsoring you is his personal affair)using his employer's letter
head. He should write his letter on a plan paper and he can notarize it... if you are concern about the authenticity.

Your application is not validly / completely submitted yet until you do biometric. Run, Run, Run. Time is not your friend. You should have considered upfront medical too if it for September admission

I use N170 for all my calculations

Thank you @TheBae.

Sorry for my plenty questions, but how much is the exchange rate from the Canadian Dollar to the Naira via the ATM through Diamond Bank.

That information is vital in drafting a detailed financial plan.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 3:28am On Aug 02, 2015
If the company isn't his, then he cannot write a sponsorship letter on his company letter head because the letter head means that the letter is from from the company which is not because it is not his company. In your case, the only document that should be letterheaded is one that is from the company as an entity to use to introduce your uncle as a staff of the company. So that one should be on letterheaded paper. I hope it's clear. These are important details

Diamond Bank Naira Visa Debit for Intl transactions:
ATM withdrawal charge: N240
POS and online: Free
Annual service fee: N100
POS Cash Advance: N750
ATM Daily Limit: $300
POS Daily Limit: $10,000 (20 times)
Web Daily Limit: $5,000 (5 times)
Annual Spend Limit: $50,000

(@Chars1289, I believe the location has some effect on the commission because atm withdrawal for GT in Canada is about N450 while it's N1,000 in the UK
Chars1289:

Exchange rate + commission is not location base rather it depends on your bank in Nig cos diff banks hve diff exchange rate wen atm cards are used outside Nig.

For Stanbic IBTC here are the charges
ATM withdrawal charges........N240
POS charges.................Free
Online Transactions.....Free

Limits
ATM........N150, 000(or its equivalent in the currency you are transacting in)
POS.........N1, 000, 000
Online Transactions....N500, 000
Annual Limit...... $150, 000 for international transactions.

Hope you find the info helpful.

Your own biometric and medical limit is specific to you. Some people have 14 days, some 28 days, others 30 days. It depends on what your biometrics letter says.
