The Implications Of Buharis Message In Benin. by mekaboy(m): 2:34am On Aug 03, 2015
I read that buhari told Nigerians in Benin that they are better of there. To me i think that is very wrong and no sane president will make such utterances in public. The implications as follows.

1, they will loose hope. Every Nigerian outside Nigeria is wishing that Nigeria will become great some day . His message is not encouraging at all. He should have told them he is fixing Nigeria for them and soon they will have to return home, but in the mean time let them hold on there.

2, they will feel discouraged and rejected. When your own president tells u he does not want you home, its like your father rejecting you. this will affect them negatively.

3, he belittled Nigeria, He made it seem like Nigeria was in a terrible state and benin was far better.

4, the host will loose respect for Nigerians there. When. you own president rejects you and tell you benin is better of. Citizens of that country will begin to feel they are doing you a big favour and you have no option, since you president has painted a dark picture of Nigeria.

Buhari shld be careful while addr3ssing Nigerians abroad. Because the message will affect how the host sees them. If you address them poorly, the host will not respect them. But if you preach a message of hope then they can walk with their heads up, so will the host respect them.

Una people no dey tired? Do you have jobs for those Nigerians working and making a living in Benin? Why can't you people think objectively? What did the past administration of the corrupt government of Jonathan do to redeem and encourage Nigerians in Benin to return home and eke out a living for themselves and their families? Until things are right in this country those people better stay put in Benin and make a living. Face facts and stop criticizing every words that come out of your president. Be proud of him.

God bless PMB. God bless Nigeria. We shall get theresmiley

Thinking it the other way round, your father comes to someone's house where you are suffering, he tells you to be happy and remain there, that you are enjoying there more than as you can enjoy at home. It means home is the worst place for you to be then. Yet his statements are praised. Please our honourable president got it all wrong this time around. Let's call a spade a spade

Buhari may have stated the truth but he didn't have to say 'don't come and add to our problems'. That sounded quite irresponsible coming from a president.
Nigeria is their country and it is the duty of the government to cater for her citizens. Many Nigerian are not necessarily asking for employment from the govt, they are simply asking for an enabling environment and support to do business. If given the needed support, a lot of Nigerians can start their own business because Nigerians are generally business minded.

I remember that when OBJ visited China during his first term and advised the Chinese government to send Nigerians there back home and to also refuse granting visas to other Nigerians saying that Nigeria was good and could accommodate them, we all shouted and called for his head. We argued that if Nigerian economy was doing good, Nigerians abroad would have stayed behind.

And now that we have a president who has technically acknowledged the state of our economy, advising people in Benin Republic to stay there "for now" till things get better, wailers have taken to wailing!

Why will a president who promised to create 1 million jobs in 1 year be threatening Nigerians abroad with unemployment?

Does it mean the 1million jobs are empty promises?
