The question is – why did Aguiyi-Ironsi denied Niger Deltans who were minorities as at then their independence as a President? We would definitely be marginalized by the Igbos if we join up with Biafra, thats a fact.

It would even be worse than what Igbos call marginalization today.

The six states of the SS are enough to form a country.

Edo state alone is bigger than Equitorial Guinea.

My opinion: It is either we remain one Nigeria and work things out through development (infrastructural and otherwise), dialogue and conferences to heal the wounds of the 1967-1970 civil war or we each go our separate way.

Allowing Biafra alone to go, would be a slap on the faces of the other geo-political zones of the Federation.

Nigeria can never break, even if it does d Southsouth can never be one, I don't know about other states, but I know tribes in Rivers state, who don't want to be neither in Biafra nor Niger delta nor southsouth republic.
If Igbos break out of Nigeria it wud cause a chain reaction not just in Nigeria but Africa as a whole.

In any referendum, there is never 100% win. Once 51% say YES, it is carried. So any minority agitation would be taken care of later. Honestly, I think Nigeria need to break at least into two. Let Sharia seeking people get their republic.

He is likely to say "what of Jim Nwobodo?" Tell him that the Igbo number about 40 million, if it would be fair for the action of one person to represent the integrity of the other 3.99.9 million. The truth is that an Igbo is like any other human being, when he sees where he can take advantage of a situation, he goes for it. It has nothing to do with "selling." Were we not told that fish clusters where the river was deepest or that the dog follows he who has crumbs? Do you actually know on what basis these ethnic groups would come together to form a nation?

How do you intend to cajole or threaten those that may want to form a nation with Igbos? And the marginalization hasn't started yet? Is it the Igbos that spilled oil in ogoniland? Is it the igbos that voted out GEJ? Is it the igbos that closed sold the seaports in port harcourt and calabar?or made the international airport a local airport? Which area in your damn country is underdeveloped even with their vast resources? Or maybe the igbos caused it.

These people have been living peacefully before the forced marriage,even with the divide and rule tactics after the civil war,has there been a fracas you can point out?

^^^The issue of Lagos is one borne out of a misrepresentation of the Nigerian constitution at best! Lagos is seen by some as having been built by our collective commonwealth and sweat, and i don't see how asking for political inclusion is grounds for anyone to express outrage!.....This is the extent of 'laying claim' i'm aware of, and anyone else that says something in their private capacity you'll have to take it up with them!

The problem with Nigeria is that it's a jungle where some only pick parts of the constitution they agree with and ignore parts they don't like, and when you point out their hypocrisy and double-speak they turn around and accuse of 'not respecting your hosts; wanting to take over another persons land', and tell you in no uncertain terms where to stick your 'unsolicited' observations!

In any newly emerged nation, all will be sworn to and protected by the constitution, and if it's agreed that only 'sons of the soil' can stand for elections in their respective states/regions to the exclusion of others then that's what everyone will adhere to! There will be no minorities and majorities.....these are dubious and selfish terms used in Nigeria to make some feel inferior and limit their expectations and aspirations in life!
