Textile Industries have not been revived, Power has received enough attention, Refineries hasnt started as promised, We are still exporting Oil and importing Rice and Matches, someone is thinking and dreaming of setting up a weapon manufacturing plant...I think someone needs some serious prayers...Buhari needs to be flown out for check ups

This is long over due. Haba! In this age and time when countries are building nuclear weapon and drones, our soldiers are still going around with AK47 left over from the Biafra war. angry Biko, let all Nigerians in diaspora who are knowledgeable in this field come home and help. I'll definitely volunteer in the area of building drones and long range missiles. grin

Finally, the outcome of the US visit, judging by the daura dullards submissions, means they (US) have refused to support the Zoo with necessary weaponry to combat terrorism. The zoo is a failed nation.

such a dumb ass, must we walk with our brains below our foot?

[1quote author=carnegiefan post=36706788]The last time I checked Nigeria is not fighting a war against a foreign country. Boko Haram for example is a local construct designed by northern interest groups to return power to the north. If the dog no longer listens to his masters whistle calls, the master simply needs to speak to him in the same language they both understand, be it Hausa, Fulfude, or Kanuri.
The civilized countries of the world refused (and rightly so) to sell you weapons because they know you will turn it on the people.
As for Biafra (which is the real reasons you are really thinking about building weapons locally after foreigners turned you down), all they want is freedom. If you cannot give them freedom, be rest assured that you cannot outproduce them if it ever comes to that.
Dialogue saves millions of lives and cash.

the countries that we are trying to buy arms from are they at war too? produced arms can also be sold to other small countries that needs it....we cannot keep on living as a consuming nation and start being a producing nation.......would if be wrong if these same biafra Engineer are employed in the defence ministry to manage and build arms for Nigeria? until we start looking more at production and less importation we will never become a developed nation.........production is the simple secret or the Asian power in world politics
Re: Buhari Initiates Moves For Domestic Weapons Production by Nobody: 4:16pm On Aug 07, 2015
DICON is capable of producing weapons and ammunitions if the government can tackle corruption in MOD which is really killing DICON.

A good one if the govt does.

Whatever, this cant rule out the fact that, what is needed in the mean time is to buy or watch the boko haram cannibals keep on devoring innocent lives with their advanced weopons, until our so called Nig-manufactured ones becomes a reality.

the country that does these productions what is so special about them? we have the materials, we have the people that can be trained and also we have the mental faculties to assimilate better than even the white man...........if we can manufacture a car and other thing currently in Nigeria ten manufacturing arms is just a walk over.........do not downgrade your self........na watin you call your dog other people for outside go call am.
once again I laff, hhaa, don't tell me your idealism is that blind, you think they just get up the resources and a gun miraculously manufactures itself from it,Nigeria can barely feed itself let alone an optimal treasure to fund such projects, never you compare you communist inspired property stricken economy to a rich blessed economy with enough food and financial reserves to last them for a century(US,Britain,Russia,China).....I guess u know little about economics so I'm not gonna go futher

The only way forward is to massively restart the DIC ( Defence industries corporation of Nigeria ) a complex that now produces salt and furniture after being eaten up by corrupt politicians .
Up to the late eighties (80%) this company was still producing light arms for both the military and the police going to site an arms complex in ibo land is too dangerous for comfort Buhari need not toy with .
ON THIS AM VERY SERIOUS !

You are the one who needs to develop your brain. If we can produce cars in Nigeria now what stops us from making sophisticated weapons? This is actually a direction US, Europe and their likes don't even wish we even tow.

They know the potential of Nigeria and they so never wish that we realize it to the fullest hence their reasons for always wanting to spread negative news about us and in the process try to control our judgment of things and situations.

The day Nigeria realizes her potential she becomes a threat to the world, China will be child's play.

Good move, but lest we forget, we are technically deficit in that area. Send our best and brightest to learn so that they can teach the rest and we can build our own well. We must also be careful so that we don't get into an arms race war.
Re: Buhari Initiates Moves For Domestic Weapons Production by Nobody: 5:05pm On Aug 07, 2015
Buhari, whether you like it or not...you need the hands of the Igbos in this. The Igbos during the Civil war independently produced weapons that (pun intended) slaughtered hausa and yoruba soldiers such as the Ogbunigwe (Ojukwu Bucket) and others. They will be able to engineer and model these weapons cause we are geniuses. The hausa man can only carve bow and arrow while the yoruba man "magun"
