I don't think it's weird. With age cheating, it makes perfect sense. At u17, Nigerian players in their late 20s and early 30s easily defeat the 17 year old opposition. 5 to 10 years later, the age cheats are physically past it and cannot compete with the same youngsters they thrashed years ago. In fact most of the age cheats would have 'retired' by then to face family and business

Having won the tournament four times, I don't think we have anything to prove to anyone at that level. Our target should be towards discovering and developing the future Super Eagles stars.
