So what are those schools in Berlin where english engineering courses are free? My thorough search on daad.de has not given any

Then its not yet a thorough search. Go to daad again, this time with a much more better device, filter your search to English language and non tuition in the respective options where the provisions are made.
Everybody knows you are not doing something properly.

Lovely, you nailed it all here. But I have some questions as regards your msc course chemistry in Ruhr Bochum, on the website it states that it begins both winter and summer, but on daad it says winter only, did you come across this dilemma during ur application? Also, how many chemical engineers are in your department? Do they admit chemical engineers? I did so many chemistry courses on their course content(and did quiet well in them) from my first 2years in chemical Engineering, but to my surprise Fau erlangen told me by mail that they don't normally admit chemical engineers, so that's why I'm left wondering, thanks again please I await ur incisive response especially on the summer issue and when the application period BEGINS. Danke mein bruder.

Yeah I've noticed that also, most of the private schools for engineering are in Berlin, but this may also be due to the fact that your search on daad is limited to summer, or don't you think so? My curve 7 blackberry device makes my search on daad quiet strenous as well and then the summer semester usually leaves us with few options. Alles Gute.

Yea...you can be admitted in both summer and winter....I moved to bochum in summer '14. Application for summer semester opens in November or so....till jan.15

I know just one chemical engineer in my dept..he is from the U.S of A....he is done with his masters and doing his phd in Bochum...The first 2yrs chemistry courses u did would probably be introduction ..but u can mail the course advisor a student copy of ir transcript and ask if its compatible.

Aside chemistry u can aslo check out Material science, Some engineering courses.

All the best!

And a quick one for guys whose interview is coming up soon.

Please be advised that the checklist has been changed to the list below.

This is an updated list and expected arrangement as at 07/07/2015 which was gotten by one of our member here from the consulate.

Please, ensure you follow the listing in the right order so as not to be in logger-head with the Rivers state man at the gate (A.k.a Igbo man grin)

Thanks For this important update.
I'm kind of new this thread although I have tried to read up from the previous thread. I must say you guys are doing a great job here. One could not have wished for anything better as regards information about the German visa process.

Please can you please specify how exactly, the documents should be arranged?
Should they come before or after the visa application form (because the list states ONE IN EACH APPLICATION FORM),
where should we place other documents like biographically old documents, school leaving certificates etc?
where are we to write our email and phone number at the back of the form
finally what is the passport photo specification?

Thanks

Bros, this that you have stated here is mere theory o. Daad is one of the most comprehensive search engines one could come across, so it has nothing to hide. With 'Berlin' selected in the 'location>city' section, and all other boxes unchecked to allow for the maximum number of outcomes, there was no single institution; public or private offering tuition-free MSc programmes in engineering. Maybe you missed the 'engineering' part
before posting your comment.

The only clause here may be that such schools actually exist but are not in daad's database. If you have knowledge of this, I would appreciate you listing them. Danke!

Well based on your query, I did a search. Except if this is not the course you want . But yes, there is a tuition free Masters in Berlin. Check https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programs/en/?p=d&s=kr&id=1324#q=&degree[]=2&fos[]=4&subject=670&langDistribution=0&cit[]=19&fee[]=1&sortBy=1&page=1&display=list

I have to tell you this, even though I won't believe if someone else told me. DAAD is not comprehensive.
In my search for programs i could apply to, I came across MSc Visual Computing in one school (The school is on DAAD, but not the course. Can't remember it now, will modify this post if I do). I was so pissed as I discovered this program just 3 days after the application deadline (I've always wanted to do something on pattern recognition).
The best (and least efficient) way of checking for a program is to go to the individual school's website one by one and check for their program list. This can be very cumbersome, but could save you a lot of frustration.

Okay, if I were to summarise all the grammar above, you mean you only want schools in BERLIN for ENGINEERING for SUMMER?
Bros!! you never want go school because even if you find, what are your chances of being admitted?

Hello, this has been treated some 8-10 pages away...

anyway, take note of the bolded I believe one needs to go to the embassy with the documents stated on their website but arranged in the new checklist I posted some weeks ago.

place the national visa application form first, followed by the terrorism form, then attach other documents as stated on the checklist. use an office pin ( the one used for binding many documents).

At the back of the two national visa form, you are expected to write your email, phone number and signature.

lastly, meet a professional photographer and tell him/her you want to snap an 8 in 1 visa passport with your head showing clearly with white as the background. A sample imagery has been uploaded for your perusal.

After fulfilling all these requirements, I believe you should be fine.

I hope this helps and other intending applicants

For private you get a 14days grace to pay or your insurance is cancelled. for Public you can not terminate until after 6months (dunno what will happen if you default in their case).

Nope, that won't do, he's more concerned about courses that begins in summer, and that course in ur link begins in winter semester, I agree with him cos I've also found out(at least on daad) that there is hardly any(if any) free tuition engineering course in berlin for SUMMER application

Okay. This just confirmed that you have mis-understood my posts all the while. Same as everyone who has commented. I never stated or implied that I searched for courses beginning in the summer only. I said all boxes were unchecked, which meant that I was considering both summer and winter. About you saying I never wan go school: that I searched for schools in Berlin does not mean I am stereotyped, desiring to study in Berlin alone. Berlin is not the only place where you have the top schools. Infact, no school in Berlin is even among the top 8 in Germany.

Maybe you should go to the embassy and ask or contact DAAD. I also had problem with mine. On the section : purpose of study : the wrote besuch ( visit) instead of study. I sent it anyway and I was asked to return the original to Germany for the correction to be made. I am in Ghana and I do not know about Nigeria.

Bro easy! Eke40seven and others who commented didnt mean it that way. On daad you can narrow your search to related courses(those that are very close to your dream course), plus you can also go to the school's website like someone suggested or you use google 'english taught master program' with the name of your prefered schools. Check out frei and humboldt universities... These are one of the best ranked schools in Berlin and Germany. Cheers.
