Sometimes you need to go beyond just dropping cv. you may look for a way to ensure your cv gets to the right table. dropping at the gate sometimes does not ensure it would get to the right desk .infact it may end up in the trash can . you should ask to see the secretary and if allowed, give cv to the secretary. its a better option than leaving it at d gate. wish you better luck in your searches.
Thanks a lot bro

My expectations are high because I did not participate in examination malpractice with my student even when the pressure was much and my job was on the line

nice one. But i think one can add more to a cover letter because a cover letter is like marketing oneself. Permit me to add a few pointers@artiscally.....
you should add achievements from other places of work. e.g taking students for common entrance ,other external exams etc... also state some of the subjects you can take too. There are many other things you can include but lemme step on the brakes .i believe you have already gotten the gist. wink
If you state other subjects you can take, you just set yourself up for workload.

Cover Letter for Teachers

Smithfield Elementary School
Mainland, Lagos

Dear Sir/Ma,
I am interested in applying for a teaching position, on the elementary level, in your school district. As a 20XX graduate of Bleep College, I have student teaching experience on the third and sixth grade level, in both primary and Secondary schools.

At the present time I am teaching at risk preschool children. This position enables me to provide these students with a “head start” in mastering basic skills in numeracy, spelling and identifying objects. I am challenged to be creative, nurturing and most of all, patient.I coordinated field trips with classroom instruction.

It is my goal to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, intelligent teacher who will make a positive contribution to your school.

I would welcome an interview and hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

i smell "fear". Like artiscally said ..give it a shot. its either they give you the job or they dont. they wont publish in the papers that mr sgwuihgui flunked their interview. besides you may not do well but you would have learnt and know the kind of questions to prepare for next time such thing comes up again. my brother like i have once told a basketball team i raised "loose if you must but don't loose the lesson" . Go give it a shot ,you may eventually get the job.
p.s
try to study waec n neco past questions before the day.

OK! Got you sir. Many thanks for the encouragement. I will be back!

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC has released the May/June 2015 WASSCE results, withholding the results of students in 13 states that are owing the Council. The Head of Nigerian Office, Mr Charles Eguridu who disclosed this at its Yaba Office said:”Out of 1,593,442 candidates who sat for the examinations, only 616,370 candidates, representing 38.68% obtained credits in five subjects and above including English Language and Mathematics.”

Justifying the slight improvement in the results from previous years, Eguridu said that in 2013, a total candidates who obtained five credits in English and Mathematics were 639,760 representing 38.30 per cent. He said, in 2014, 529,425 representing 31.28 per cent obtained five credits in English and Mathemstics.

Meanwhile, Eguridu said that 6 states among the 19 states that are owing the Council have paid their debt, left with 13 states. The HNO who refused to disclosed the names of indebted states explained that he would not want politicians to hijacked the situation against their opponents. He, however noted that if any of the states that are owing can get an advanced payment guarantee from any reputable banks, students results in such states will be released.

“Of the total number of candidates that sat the examination, 758,849 candidates, representing 47.62% obtained six (6) credits and above; 949,862 candidates, representing 59.61% obtained five (5) credits and above, while 1,114,988 candidates, representing 69.97 % obtained credit and above in four (4) subjects. In addition, 1,295,915 candidates, representing 78.81% obtained credit and above in three (3) subjects, while 1,376,743 candidates, representing 86.40% obtained credit and above in two (2) subjects. However, a total of 616,370 candidates, representing 38.68%, obtained credit in five (5) subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

“Candidates who sat the May/June 2015 WASSCE will be able to check the details of their performance on the Council’s results website: www.waecdirect.org within the next 24 hours,” he said.

I think prime scholars' is amongst the biggest schools in karu. If u are paid 40k then its cos u either dont have much teaching experience/ur area of specialization is nt in high demand or u dont knw how to bargain. U shud gun 4 50k-60k.

After spending some much time in this section, I have observed that most graduate are sitting at home and they are looking for jobs they could do pending when the "JOB" surface.

Many of you that had the opportunity to serve our fatherland say 2011- to date taught in private school, state and government owned schools. Why sit at home when you have 1 year teaching experience?

If you reside in Akute, Alagbole and Ajuwon this is for your.
There are schools at the aforementioned places that are in fire need of subject teachers, for example, Bolarinwa, Isolog and Success college at Alagbole are looking for YOU. Peaklane international school just concluded their recruitment on Tuesday. Agro-Tropic, Kingdale, Excel and Hortative needs teachers. Although NCE holders are given priority but there is no harm in trying.
