The moment we stop to challenge that tradition that held us back to the stone age, that tradition that never provide us with constant supply of energy, that tradition that enslave our mind, then our future and that of unborn will be totally mortgage to that tradition.
Tradition that refused to find cure for common Ebola disease that eliminated thousands resently and we have to cap in hand again over the shore as usual for cure to our problems.
Tradition that couldn't cure the late ooni and he died in a white mans St. Mary's hospital in London.
Yes, we scrap the tradition that kept our forefathers alive in the harshest conditions known to human, we scrap the tradition that had us inventing, building and evolving into renonwned empires, we scrap the tradition that kept our societies sane with everyone knowing their place.

And we adopt a tradition that slows us down and makes us the beggar continent, adopt the culture that has put is on doubt of our ancestors enviable inventions, then we adopt the traditon where africa has no contributions into contribution of modern medicine, engineering, sciences, that we adopt a traditon where rot now eats the society.

I can go on but I'll let you think.

Yeah, Ile-Ife ni won fi ori mi so. I said organs because I didn't want to mention the organs.

Sometimes, I wish some traditions could be scrapped.

As they say shaa, ISESE L'GBA.

Lobatan o jarey.
Nitoripe wan fi orire so ilu ife o pan dandan ki o mo bo ya organs or not. There is no proof whatsoever that organs are taken off the king so you cannot list or mention what organs; if you did it would be conjectures or rumours from whatever sources you have.

Except of course you're from the Royal houses or Isoro houses in Ife. And even if you were from either, the process is kept very secret and those who know it regard it as an 'awo' and 'imule' that even the Prince next in line never knows the processes or if organs or not are involved.

So, Baba is dead eventually? Lolz.

They are done with the preparation which usually involve removal of some organs in late Ooni's body and use to prepare a concoction for the new one. The new will be asked "What Did You Eat and he'll respond I Ate Oba......Ki Lo Je, Mo Je Oba". Tradition Wahala.

It is well sha. Everyone in Ife knows Baba died days ago, hence no one wants to be caught by the Oro(na lie oooo, some stubborn night crawlers will still be caught oooooo).

Make dem bury Baba abeg make we move on jarey.

Lobatan o jarey.

And what happens to whoever is caught by oro? I think they say there is fundamental right of freedom enshrined for citizens in our constitution? We pushed that aside in the 21st century to bar people's movement in daylight and give freedom to some people to commit murder. Ours is a real society of deluded people. We could just reject civilisation and revert back to stone age. Oni don die tete, if they like they announce or they refuse to announce, it won't bring oba back from the dead.

The independent country of the kingdom of western nigeria is sad of the event of the passing away of one of its dukes. The oba of ile ife.

May his soul rest in peace.

Just to correct all the wrong past story
The ooni of ile ife was not the emperor of western Nigeria.

Some of the story were fake .,made up by the media

unfortunately its true, some Obas are buried with their last wife alive but that has stopped in yorubaland but still practiced in igalaland infact the last attach of igala was buried with 6 other people with the last wife, even the law enforcement agencies attached to the palace will feign ignorance because bthey are indigenous and part of the system that's why our obas always request for indigenes who are policemen. Thanks for the information technology age!

What makes it the truth?
Nigerians are generally foo.lish, when something is wrapped in mystery or beyond them, rather than be a part of it if they can or leave it alone, they come up with whatever conjectures - the same way they formulate all sorts about frats (though some frats are horrible).

As far as Ife is concerned, if you're not part of any of the awo in the royal houses, Isooro houses or Iledi Ogboni Ooni then there is no way you confirm it to be true, know or let alone prove it to be.

Stop already.

FYI I don't need to prove anything when your ife chiefs who deny oonis death now shamefully confirm it, some cultures are barbaric and the truth must be told, I listened very well to our elderly and I have the information about our obas from a reliable source not one two or three but several and it is meant to be secretive but we can't go on like this people like you have been glued to tradition, an you just sound ridiculous the way your Ife chiefs said that your kings death can only be announced officially when the rumour of death is spread already, and people around ife and environs are shouting ...olomo kilo fun omo re ooni aro...meaning 'warn your child, today will taste bad....what is the significance of the song when oba dies and the oro is to follow? God will ask of the blood of the innocents spilled...I don't know your age but I can tell you that I knew when sijuwade enthroned the throne of oba adesoji in1980, I don't need to be in any occult to know what transpired between the late adesoji remains and sijuade, but for one of ife chief who earlier denied the death of ooni to now confirm it today shows that the local ritualistic removals are true, and while you may be embarrassed with the exposé you can't hide a flame, sorry

You're not very bright.
Everything you typed are mere conjectures.

It is apparent you're seeing from a bent angle and I'm not interested in helping you straighten out, you can wallow in your ignominy for being to shallow to understand there is a 'process' and what the chiefs did was to follow the process but your 'enlightened' self see it as 'denied and now shamefully confirm'. That line makes me wonder if you indeed have elders in your home.

I do not care for whatever information you have on other Obas but claiming you have information on Ife Ooni installation process is plain dishonesty.

Oro ritual is a process meant to keep the town in a mourning state or have you heard any news of any missing persons in Ife?

There was no expose in the crap you put together. I only see falsehood which an Ooni or chief or any can take you to court over so you can go prove the rituals and king assorted meat meals you claim to have first hand knowledge of.

Insult you? No Yoruba person will do that, except the exuberant young ones. At least, not at this moment. We will not rise to provocations. Only a senseless and arrogant people will do that; for provocations are empty for the most part. Then again, we know that people like you do not, and will not, understand. The Ooni of Ife is the One in Whom the Spirits of the Yoruba converge and reside. Show me your Nation's rallying point. Did you notice that I have not insulted you? Please, leave us in peace to mourn the passing of the Custodian of our heritage. This shouldn't be too much to ask. Thank you.
