Most of the guys I roll with or have a business dealing with, or even colleagues of mine don't have bad breaths or pot bellies. But they don't have riches to throw around either.

Only some of the Alhajis I know or some married men have either one or both of those qualities you mentioned.

This is another fallacy of marriage.

Wife works and earn income, Husbands work and earn income.
Why is it that it is only the husband/man that is expected to have a WILL?
Why are wives/women not encouraged to have a WILL...... or dont they have assets as well (Maybe that is a pointer to how wasteful most of them are, after all, they also earn income like their husband and the "equally-shyte" says what a man can do, a woman should also be able to do, right?

Again, insisting that your husband have a will presumes that you are "sure" that he will die before you (and hence the need to have a WILL that gives his assets to you the wife; never mind the fact that women use the children as a ready excuse that they are protecting the children)....


This makes one to wonder whether women have actually "perfected the art/science" of ensuring that their husband "die early" or at least before them!
Just as in many places, in Benin, na so-so "mama landlady" you go dey hear for all the streets, wetin happen to the "baba landlord" naah?

If you insist thats your husband makes a will, then you the wife must also make a will.
I dont want to mention the high rate of women who insists that their husband take a life insurance (the excuse is that "incase something happens to you, the children will have something to eat) ...only to be the same ones who engineer the death of their husband!

Like so many men nowadays, l still remember the story of that lovely man at Ikeja Computer Village who owns KAVEX COMPUTERS where we use to buy computer stuffs back in the days. Was it not his wife who organized his assassination (by her own mouth confessions in court, only to blame the darn Devil!) ?
yet the same woman would inherit his sweat, through his WILL and LIFE INSURANCE after some crocodile tears for a few weeks!

I hope men of this generation will be smart and use their brain, instead of letting that swelling "third leg" to control their head.
Marriage as presently constituted and implemented, makes the man an endangered specie..... xcept if you are smart and ready to shine your eye, even as you profess "love-wantintin" to your wife.

Where in my post did I insinuate that a woman shouldn't have a will. The topic says married men, so I tried to stick to the topic but I guess you read a different meaning to what I typed.

I believe in hard work, no matter if you are male or female. Anyone can die before their spouse, be it male or female. Having a will as an human being just makes the lives of your dependants easier after you pass away. Dependants may be your kids, spouse or even your house help. What happens if both parents die at the same time and there is no provision for the kids they left behind? We live in an incertain world so it's not a bad idea for parents to try their best to make the lives of their children, especially the ones that aren't yet adults, easier. Hope you now get my point?

I am only telling us all the bad side of some people and I can make an equal list for men too. So don't take it personal, we are all human and far from perfection.

Women are great, special and a blessing to man&mankind, but that is when God gives you the good woman. But if anyone is unfortunate to come to be with the wrong woman, then such man is doomed

There's a thread in which I said that when it's exam period in my school, there is this girl that I ALWAYS visit to put me through some things. There are some girls that are way brighter than I academically.. All what I'm trying to say is, don't depend on your man for every little thing you need when you have a source of income. Men hate that, the only men that will love that are those types that later use it to punish you, those men that will like to alienate you from your friends and families. About washing cloths and cooking, I don't know about other guys, but for me, I know how to cook and I am more capable of washing my cloths myself... And there are some women that one can pay to cook for them and laundry's are everywhere now.

Ha ha ha. People who think one size fits all in marriage. It is still surprising that people think this way. And from the way it is presented vullnerable and mentally immature People would also wrongly think that only christiians experience successful marriages. Or that you need religion to make marriage work as a must.

Any way..goodluck to your marriage formular. To me there is no formular.
As much as possible discuss how you want your marriage to be even before marriage where possible. Discuss your Likes and disklikes. Set the rules, boundaries, family values etc. Talk about what you will eat on Sundays and how much you need to save.
Set the boundaries and the family norms and culture. Make it personal to you both. In my own house men do the dishes too. Try it with some other men and you are in trouble. It does not make them lousy husbands. I know a husband who does not eat goat meat. So cook that delicious goat meat stew at your own risk.

Leave all these monkey tricks you want to use to catch the bush pigeon. The bush pigeon will only fly away.

Discuss with your spouse how your marriage will be and establish your marriage/family values, culture, norms, standards, religion, and matters of Valued Living.

Don't worry i get you. I only wanted to point out there are 2 sides of a coin. Women don't equally like guys that expect them to do all the house chores, care for the kids and also work and contribute to the family coffers. They ain't slaves you know.
