Our fellow Nigerians are the ones closing the door on genuine students and this really pains.

The rate at which Nigerians with study visa defer admission to January just to work some more is alarming and colleges have called attention of CIC to it.

Personally I fully support the removal of work permit for students while they study if that will lessen their strong stance in issuing study visa.

But I fully support the postgraduate work permit program which I feel should be upheld.
A student that have studied fully has the right to stay back and work to either get experience or make some money.

Sorry about the refusal though my response is due to you assuming the worst. I think being refused a Canadian Visa is not the end of the world. If your intention is to truly obtain a foreign degree and return to Nigeria to work and not immigrate then there a lot of countries with top class education that you can study in with your money and I know I don't have to tell you which countries and no be by force say na Canada you must go get the foreign degree na.

Each application is treated purely based on it's merits and it is your responsibility to provide documents that will show you meet their requirements, and if you do not then take your own advise and jejely call for your gcms file that is if you are still hell bent on going to Canada to know how best to tackle and re-apply instead of going on this rant which is not necessary. You will probably think Nigerian peeps deferring admission to start at a later date is bad until you hear what other nationals are doing or do you think the immigration rule changes in 2014 for students coming to Canada was because of Nigerians.

I tried Canada with no positive outcome on visa. I was suppose to pay 14 dollars school fees in Canada. When somebody told me I can even study in Germany with English and is 100% free of charge plus free public transport and train, I rush apply for German student visa and admission and today I have no regret. I work and send money home rather than using the money to pay school fees. Information is power.
Ok, good talk, can I have the link sharp sharp... There p.g se na free of charge...

How did you get the gcms file? It is annoying because the reason for refusal doesnt hold water at all

@Eke40seven, I appreciate the great help you're rendering to those who know the benefits in General German Visa Enquiries Thread, as Germany was my target last year.
You and @TheBae have made your points.
The truth of the matter is, there is a high rate of Racism in Germany but it's not as high as those of us who have not been there think.

You're welcome and thank you for not derailing our lovely thread.
Eke40seven:

Well you can continue to forecast and conjure up news from out of no where. Just as I said before, let those who know better reap the benefits and I would at this juncture cease to contribute in the derailment of your thread and a nice thread you guys have here by the way.
Tschüs!!

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by thesoj: 11:29pm On Aug 13, 2015
Hello boss. I highly doubt that your quote below is true -- the number of Naija students that defer admission after getting TRV is likely not a large percentage of all Nigerian students that get a TRV. My plausible guess is that most Naija people with student TRV want to leave Naija as fast as possible. Let's not panic yet. But I share your frustration at all the TRV delays sha.

Thanks boss. Now I need to help my younger brother with the same thing.
I hope the best for your application, but even if the worst occurs you can always patiently re-evaluate where things went wrong and then reapply strategically. My sister was refused a student visa three times (twice by US three years ago, and once by Canada a month and half ago) before we became super strategic (hence my reading at least like 1500 pages of this thread) and reapplied to Canada again. Thanks again and I wish your app the best.

You have identified the issue yourself:

Firstly, your course choice and then not including your academic certificates makes it look like you're just looking to get into Canada. The VO probably knows your application to the school hasn't cost you anything which raises questions about your commitment.

This made the VO look closely at your assets. He's probably thinking: if he/she isn't really going to school then this sponsor isn't going to be giving him/her any money, in which case he/she will resort to working or hustling to survive.

So like others have said, get an UG admission and reapply for the TRV. You've got a good chance to get it.

daudugodswill:

Thank u brodaly.. the truth of the matter is that this college i applied to his affiliated to a University, so once u are done with the fondation at the college which is one year, you get admitteed into the University where you would complete ur remaining three years for ur required course.. and to apply to get admisson into this college is FREE and they dont require u to have IELTS and TOEFL

But what really surprised me is that personal asset and finance, Wat do they ezpect me to do am a minor.. not yet leaving on my own... and i attached the asset of my sponsor...

But conxerning the purpose of visit i think j made a mistake there because i didny attach my Academic transcripts (SSCE AND WAEC) I guess thats the rreason for purpose of visit but for the NOW am APPLYING to anoda country...

Congrats bro on your sister's TRV.

I wish to state at this point that you've earned my respect on this forum by totally ignoring a particular post from someone that blatantly insulted you. I was eager to see what your next post/reaction to his post would be. Indeed, you exhibited full maturity.
Many others would have fired back and in the end waste pages while exchanging words.
Much respect bro!!!

To all my brothers and sisters recently denied, please cheer up... It's not over yet until it's over.

@standupguy: Please don't give up yet... I know you've put in much efforts, time and resources but remember that there is light at the end of every tunnel... Since you've got years of experience, why not try uOttawa, you might get in.

@omooba2015 : my man, you don send PM tire for this thread... I give it you wink (no offense meant bro)

@hayqinsbFX : Why being so pessimistic? Have you confirmed that give been delayed? Being a realist is a good one, but at the extreme is not so cool. Try giving a shot at a course based masters... [/b]

@opendurs

Sorry to learn about your denial but someone wrote about the reason why project management isn't a good program for obtaining TRV. Not that it's impossible but it's requires you to do more to convince the VO.

1) cos PM certification which is available in Naija is more recognized internationally than spending so much money for a certificate. I'll suggest changing your course. All the best with your next app.

hayqinsbFX:
Out of everything uve said ur notion on the college and province havng an effetx is whaat I disagree with.
And not all college applicants are denied.

I will endeavour to request GcMs if atall it doesn't come good.

I would like to ask, your project management is a one year course? Isn't it?
Where's the sense in length of proposed stay then?

My guy, I would recommend you go find someone off this thread to truly sponsor you. Also, posts of this nature can jeopardize the future applications of Nigerian students. In addition, I noticed that you posted your TRV denial document in one of your posts (June 18th post) with your full name and address visible. You do realize that any Canada VO (or any of their interns hired to scour threads like this for Naija applicant tricks) that stumbles upon this thread would blacklist any future visa application from you, right?

olawale005:

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by montrealer: 2:18am On Aug 14, 2015
Congratulations @thesoj and others who got TRV.

For those reapplying, remain hopeful, try to really evaluate before refiring so you have a strong app.

To those waiting to collect their passports, fingers crossed and believing for good news on your behalf.

Thanks to all who contribute to make this thread a haven for TRV applicants.

Thanks @Onyeoma3. Yes, so true @ the person who insulted me without restrain over several paragraphs -- I was pretty surprised by it given that I had actually given the person the direct way to answer his person. I figured there was no point getting angry grin but I didn't know anyone noticed the abusive post since no one commented on it. I think one of the moderators deleted it (including my short civil response to it) less than an hour after it was posted. I still remember the moniker of the insulter though, but its ok smiley I decided I wouldn't let anyone poison my spirit or the spirit of the thread. Thank you once again for the congratulations.

PS: Where in Canada are you? I tried to look through your old posts but there are a lot! smiley You have been super helpful on this thread for so long, wow.
