History lessons should be made compulsory in our high schools. Too many ignorant people with smart phones typing rubbish about a culture they have no idea of. Seems everything is done for the sake of TRENDING on social media. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

So the Yorubas were so barbaric right from the 17th century. No wonder they love palm oil and opening their mouths when they talk. They should kindly abolish this nonsense. It is too shameful. 7 Likes 1 Share |

What took lalasticalala , Seun and ishlove so long to make this post to the Front page is a story for another day, rather they take joy in sending mockery post from joke section to make people laugh... Nairaland is a platform where most people rely so much for information and any wrong insinuations could be costly... We should always make findings about issues before using vuvuzela to blow it out. Yoruba's are not wicked as we are suddenly portray them to be. Thanks OP's for the very inciteful and informative post, it comes in handy and more timely... God bless Nairaland. I posted something like this hours ago https://www.nairaland.com/2526035/truth-behind-deceitful-story-abobaku/1 1 Like 1 Share |

The first post claimed obabaku is not practiced in Ife. But the 2nd post says in Ife, Saarun performs the same function. The first post gave an in depth analysis of when obabaku stopped in old Oyo empire, can Ife historians educate on us when the practice of Saarun being buried alive with the Oba stopped. 9 Likes |

Too late at face saving crap. We non yorubas don't even know what abobaku means, it is yoloba word and d meaning says it all. What is d curfew for n why is the burial enshrewed in such secrecy that only few fellow ogboni chiefs witness it? What are they hiding? 6 Likes |

The Saarun is the head and closest aid who must go everywhere the Ooni goes. It follows in the days of hold that upon the demise of an Ooni, his most trusted aid and steward will be interred with him to continue his life of service to his master and as well show his loyalty. Days of HOLD hahahaha. Hold ko, old ni. 4 Likes |
