ArodewilliamsT:Chinua Achebe is one amazing Nigerian, known for his world famous book: things fall apart; of which has been translated into 40 or more languages worldwide. However, you cannot claim he is the most famous Nigerian ever. In my opinion I believe it is Fela Kuti. Forget about how he fought for the average Nigerian citizen, I choose him on the basis of his success in creating Afrobeats which is one of the biggest music genres in the world. Another thing that made me to love this man is that he is not the cheap type,imagine he rejected $1million offer from 50cent in order to use the title of his book 'THINGS FALL APART'on a movie,he also rejected national honour from fg twice. 5 Likes |

Nigeria36:Its sad that's the only thing Nigerians remember him for. Even Rashidi Yekini who died three years back is already forgotten on his home soil but remembered as a hero in foreign nations. Fela with his music frustrated a dictatorial system of government backed by western colonialists. We should glorify his name for that not use his bad habit of weed smoking to vilify him. |
