Babcock University Students Protest Increase Of Fees Via Social Media by activelyA(op):
Babcock University students have taken to social media, blogs and forums to protest against the unfair increase in fees.
You will recall that Babcock university is a private christain institution and does not tolerate any form of physical protest as it considers this a grievous offence which calls for suspension and expulsion. Therefore, students of the school, having little option, have resorted in the use of social media as they express their unhappiness with the recent event. This is not the first time of which attempts have been made to increase the fees.
This is coming in with the change in the position of the vice chancellor.
This is not right as it seem this Christian private institution have taken advantage of the state of education in the nation to make things really difficult for the average school leavers to gain admission. Many parents pay through their nose to ensure their children are given education.

As it seems, the media is their last resort as the student association(comprising of students too) have boundaries of which if crossed, they themselves could all be expelled grin
Pls help these students and and their parents in expressing themselves

Please help move to front page.

Modified: so e don reach FP and nobody fit wake me, mtcheeeew.

Errm, these students should understand that babcock is a private organization and as such making profits is top on their priority list even before giving quality education.

The funny thing is this social media campaign won't be felt.

Things are not as easy as they seem...
I have a friend who considered private universities after 5 years of hustling public universities. It wasn't as if he didn't pass the post utme, but he soon realized it wasn't about that alone.
The politics involved in gaining admission into a public university is so much that even when he decided to eventually play along, he was at the loosing end and is not like the guy in question is buoyant financially. undecided

But in all, it doesn't justify the actions of these private universities.

I think its cool if the increment is for only 100level students, so u get to understand what u are signing up for...
I blame Nigerian education system for being so wack.
That's the reason these private ones are springing up in the first place.

Re: Babcock University Students Protest Increase Of Fees Via Social Media by Bobbystanley(m): 8:49am On Aug 19, 2015
But that should be for new intakes.

In my school (Igbinedion University Okada) The rules states that whatever u start with is what u would be paying until u graduate.

Increase in school fees doesn't affect old students.

Well I dont know for babcock
