Now what I can deduce from this is that we now have a govt that cares about transparency. Henceforth, all these figures would be published to Nigerians and we would be able to appreciate what comes un and what goes out. For all those still asking for the CHANGE Buhari promised, if you can't recognise this as change, then I'm sorry.

Why not wait at the end of the financial year when all budget of this administration should have been implemented to judge

There is no point celebrating abstract figures that mean nothing to the common man when no roads have been built, no investment in electricity and the common is feeling nothing!

This figures can be dropped now and looted later. What difference does that make?
Appreciate transparency and fairness.

I could remember how Okonjo Iweala was shouting how Nigeria was broke, how Nigerians should tighten their belt because of the falling price of crude oil and that Nigeria would borrow to be able to finance the 2015 budget. But in just 3 months almost 60% of the Budget has been generate just from petroleum products alone, not including revenues generated internally and other export.
IF THIS MUCH COULD BE GENERATED WITHIN 3 MONTHS WHEN OIL PRICE IS ABOUT $50 PER BARREL, WHERE WAS OUR MONEY GOING TO WHEN IT WAS $110 PER BARREL?
Sorry but you are ignorant if you think this means Nigeria is rich. Compare the budget of Nigeria to the budget of any state in the US or say just the city of London, then maybe you will keep quiet. And these are countries that already have developed infrastructure that don't need to suck money by the way.

Nigerians know about "slow poison" and chameleons.

Yet some of them cannot fathom out that Jonathan is a wolf in a sheep's clothing--a common criminal that is.

Even in the village, it is always those people that act "holy holy" and appear gentle to the core that sneak poison into people's drinks because their demeanor make people let their guards down around them. They are very innocent-looking villains. Jonathan fits that profile.

Think if you are a salary earner and you wait to earn every month ending.

Other means of generating revenue exist but Nigeria and Nigerians are always looking toward crude oil.
Natural resources exist but unutilise.

From the comments here, i conclude that many Nigerians are gullible people who believe they are smart. Nigeria has been recording trade surpluses almost every quarter since the return of democracy in 1999. What you should be looking for is the balance of payment. That is the main thing.

You need to understand something here, NOI is a very intelligent woman and by her very presence in the govt of GEJ, she understood more than everyone else, the magnetude of looting going on under GEJ's nose. When she prepared the 2015 budget, she never expected GEJ to lose the election so her 2015 budget factored in the obscene lootocracy that was prevalent at the time.

Unfortunately my brother you do not understand what you just read. The report said ''Nigeria earned'' not ''FG earned'' which means private sector is also included. If you compare it to same period in 2014 you will notice that export actually declined by 38.5% which indicates a slow down in growth and should get you worried rather than rejoicing.

I understood what I wrote, FG collects more than fifty percent of what Nigeria earns. If you factor that, it means we FG has gotten about 30 percent of this year's budget from petroleum product alone from just one quarter. If we add revenue from other exports, from Customs, federal inland revenue and other revenue generating agencies it would make it to about 35 percent of the budget. Let assume petroleum price remains this low through the remaining 2 quarters. It would mean that FG would get 105 percent of her Budget from just 3 quarters alone. Don't forget we haven't added the first quarter. My question sir still remains the same : where did our money go to, when we were selling crude oil at $120 per barrel?

I belived what you are fighting for today was not done to you directly, it was done to maybe your father, grandfather or great grand father... they have the liabilty to avenge for their rights then yet they didn't and it has become history, let it go, now is the time you have for your life and that for your children, have you asked yourself, what legacy will I live to my children and to the unborn generation? To fight and disgenerate and become rebelious? I want to assure that our past generations have the right to turn the country to another iraq and a war zone but yet they let it go. You have your destiny in your hands now, ask yourself, if I go today now, what will people remembered me for? Ojukwu is been remembered for something among the Ibos, what will people remember you for? For violence.

Life is more worth than that abeg

Ogbeni, do you people have any analytical skills at all?

This is the figure for the entire country. The money goes into the federal account for the entire country. The federal government budget of N4trn is just a subset of the the total figure.

This is part of what the whole country shares. The federal government plus the 36 states and 774 local governments. You would have to add all their budgets together for better understanding.

And the report stated the percentage of shortage compared to the same period last year. Will you just open your eyes and read before you jump into hysteria?

Why is so difficult to comprehend simple things for you guys.

Okonjo-Iweala's assertion was recently corroborated by your dullard god who said all the notions of Nigeria being a rich country are false.

Why are you people so easily deceived with figures.

The FG does not collect up to 50% of revenue even from those companies it is in Joint Venture (JV) with, let alone other private companies. This statistics from NBS does not give us insight into with establishments actually made these transactions, so it's difficult to speculate.

To be fair to Dr Okonjo Iweala, she never said Nigeria was broke, she even hated that language, what she said was ''Nigeria has cashflow difficulties'' , but like you i will also like to know where our earnings from excess crude went.

I hope we dont have illiterates alone and lay men in this nairaland. Everything you over hyped. Why all these uproar. 2.5 tril in a quarter and just #10tril or at most #12tril by next calendar yr. Tax not reducted, servicing of huge debts of the nation not reducted. Out of the approx yr sale of #10-#12 tril, the fed govt wil get 60% (5-6tril) while the 36 states/lga will share below around 4trill which amounts to about #100 bill per state although not equally shared since wealthy oil states of Akw. Bayl, delta and co will get at least 4times that amt. Just take note no tax and debts services payment reduction, no money for savings, no subsidy removal yet in the above calculated. The said money for the state wil not come to the figure i put it because all the above dectuctions are yet to be made. It is not just what you think. Worst now that a huge chonk of the money is going to militarisation and rebuilding of the darling called NE. The budget will still not be under #6tril. Dont count ur chicken b4 they are hatch. I hope also there are huge sums coming from customs/Firs but it is not yet eldarado. Hope we get it right this time. Just trust God and not your Buh.

I thought the report said 'Nigeria earn', if so the share of the Oil companies isn't included. The 50 percent I used was the FG. Share from the federal account.
