So it took you 10 days to get this done. I will have to increase my time on the ground to accomplish mine that is slightly bigger at 15 x 24 meters.

Would love to see your figures togged to this stage. A rough figure is okay.

2.4m this seem much but try recall the depth (0.9m) I excavated for the foundation due to the one foot top soil I had to remove first.

Bro I think you should have at least put DPM before concrete mix to prevent damp,ie flooring absorbing moisture from underground since you have no mesh/ re-enforcement

Iron mesh and re-enforcement is not an alternative to DPM.

Not all client will accept to use DPM due to cost factor. Many don't believe concrete can be damp and if it damp the floor tile will resist it some may say.

Concrete will always absorb water from undernith just like red mud sand will absorb water..I Don not think for the size of this house that the cost of waterproof is going to be significant. I just think it's importance should be re emphasised.

I'm pretty much set on pillars, mesh and waterproof.

One question, what is the life expectancy of the plastic in concrete?

This big omission as rendered the building incomplete even after the completion of the project, The Inhabitant of the building would forever be plagued with the constant scourge of water rising through the foundation to soak the wall leading to pilling of the paint.

Why no more Update on the Construction? Is it still uncompleted .... And Please my Question is why is the foundation like that of a Duplex... Must this house be build with a 9inches Block? or is it from the condition of the soil?

There are alot of temporary fix I have come across like using of PVC ceiling to cover the lower part of the wall from ground to about 3ft, it cost about 6k per bundle , it's a better alternative than scraping the wall regularly for plastering and repainting.
Its the most economic alternative but number one rule of building Never ever build without using damp proof membrane expeially in southern Nigerian where the water table is relatively high

Professionally it's wise to use damp prove membrane (DPM), but have u ever ask about the condition in that environment.
Onicha-Ugbo is a village sitted on a high mountain no rivers, lagoon or any natural storage areas. No one could drill a well because there is no water at the bottom even if there is not reachable for now.
When it rains there is no slight notice on the ground that it rained except for the fact that the soil is wet, No erosion, no flooding etc.
The floor concrete slab has some percentage of water resistance substance in it.

The rain water that regularly wets the wall of a building course dampness can emotion paint that absorb water or water vapour in the atmosphere prevent it?

Its not all building built in the south that has no DPM will experience dampness. 85% of buildings in the south have no dpm but not all have dampness on the walls. Try ask your landlords if he used DPM.
