The truth is that Nigeria is not as bad as purported.
First time I travelled to Ibadan,I was awed.I expected to see a village full of zinc oxide.though, there are millipedes of brown roof and not mud houses.the city is highly industrialised and fun filled.

But inner city roads of most Nigeria states are not encouraging.

Majority of folks peddling lies about how backward the people of Ebonyi are and how backward the state is are Igbos, a couple of them even verbally descended on me two years ago because I chose to disagree completely with them on the scathing remarks they made about the people of Ebonyi and the state in general and the funniest part is I'm not even Igbo.

I stayed a year in Ebonyi and if there is one thing I can categorically say about the state, it is that the hospitality of the people is so endearing and there is something about the serenity of the place that just won't make you wanna leave there for elsewhere (little wonder Ebonyians don't leave their state like other Igbos do).
Ebonyi state is not backward, they are just not noisemakers like their neighbours.

yeah, you are not far from the truth, but I remember yorubas also saying the only road in ebonyi is that leading to the govt house, even on this forum.

One more thing I noticed is that, even as the federal govt abandoned the federal roads in southeast (kind of), the inter-state state roads are good. I drove from Onitsha to abakaliki on a very smooth road, following the old onitsha-enugu road to UDI and Enugu. No pothole.

Well truth be told,if there is one thing Ebonyi lacks it is good roads. Maybe because I didn't visit much places as I would have wished to during my sojourn in the state but the few ones I visited didn't make a good impression though, especially that godforsaken Afikpo road.

I know, I have visited a couple of states in Nigeria but I would still rank Ebonyi worst of all. My personal opinion though.
