PMB, APC Taking Nigeria On New Path To Regain Lost Glory – Onu by 175(m): 12:18pm On Aug 28, 2015
A national leader of the ruling All Progressives
Congress (APC), Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, has said
that the federal government under President
Muhammadu Buhari and the governing party are
currently taking the country to a new direction in
order to regain its place in the comity of nations.
Onu, who stated this when a delegation from the
National Democratic Institute (NDI) led by Nana
Ato Dadzie visited him in Abuja on Thursday,
added that the new path was crucial to the re-
discovery of the country’s lost glory.
“It is very clear now that the President is taking
Nigerians in a new direction, and this new
direction is very important because we are trying
to rediscover many of the values that made
Nigeria a very great nation.
“Values that were somehow overlooked; these are
values that a society need to become a great
nation. Values like honesty and patriotism
because Nigeria was born a great nation and
Nigeria did great things in the past and there are
so much expectations, not just in Africa but all
over the world.
“We believe that the new direction we are on now
will make Nigeria play a vital role in the affairs of
the world in the search for peace and prosperity,”
Onu said.
On the request to establish a replica institute like
NDI in Nigeria by the APC, he said: “I believe in
future we will be able to do what the NDI is doing
today. I am sure that the APC will get an institute
that will do the same because we have seen that
nations that embrace democracy hardly go to
war. It is very important because Nigeria is the
home of the largest of concentration of black
people all over the world and the largest economy
in Africa.”
Earlier, the leader of the NDI delegation, Nana
Dadzie, told their host that transition of power is
as important as the electoral process itself,
saying that “without a sound transition
arrangement, a very sound election can be
botched. In many countries, transition continue
over and over again because not very sound
foundation are laid.”
While citing the example of what happened in his
home country of Ghana, Nana Dadzie explained
that all over Africa, the problem has been that of
transition, saying the trust of solid power
transition plan is to avoid lot of acrimony that
follow most elections.
“Our mandate here is to look at the operations on
the ground, what exist in Nigeria and to advice
the NDI headquarters. It is ultimately intended
that a National Conference could be conveyed to
which persons from civil society organisations,
academia, political parties and various other
persons will be invited to test ideas and
ultimately it should be a Nigeria thing,” he said.

Bloody consolation. Onu say what your inner mind is vexing at. . .I expected you to be named SFG.

.
.
I weep for the South-West and East. I'm feeling the
marginalisation emanating from PMB's
cancerous, imbecilic and lopsided
appointments. I wonder how Nigeria will grow
without Ndi Igbo's and Yoruba's contribution to problem-
solving and nation building.
According to statistics, South Easterners and Westerners have
the highest literacy rate anywhere in Nigeria. And
Northerners are the least. Yet they are given
sensitive positions to man. How many
experienced and educated technocrats are
from northern states? A case of best brains
being denied golden opportunities to explore
the world, so to say. This is sickening. This is
an aberration. Is PMB having phobia for
Intellectuals, perhaps seeing them as threats?
Or is it trust issues?
PMB should go back to the drawing board
and re-strategize again, and save this
country from economic degeneration.

Buhari trying his best for Nigeria? That I won't argue... Though his northern agenda is gut wrenching. APC doing anything in Nigeria's interest? That's highly debatable
