Pierocash:If Southerners are the most corrupt the North would have been the most developed región considering the fact that they have been at the corridor of power since Nigeria got independence. IT IS NOT THE LOAD THAT BREAKS US BUT THE WAY WE CARRY IT. |

op your write up makes sense for people who don't follow Nigeria politics. check GEJ last service chiefs, they are all from minority ethnic groups. Yar'adua/GEJ used a blend of technocrats and politicians in their government, so don't tell us that Buhari is doing any thing positively unusual. |

LouisVanGaal:Demography is a very important part of Vital statistics, which is essential in the formulation of policies. Numbers are the beginning and end of Everything. There is no way you can separate Demography from government. And right now the same Demography you have chosen to ignore, points to an inevitable failure of this administration. Numbers might not win a battle, but they sure do raise the odds. Please use your brain, and try putting out opinions that show you had a measurable, considerable amount of Education. |

hinwazaka:Mr man, i dont have time 4 cyclic arguments..keep your 'demographic theories' to urself...whoever has the wiLl or passion to serve or work ud do so irrespective of destination... Lets give peace a chance, must we ALWAYS view each tribe with an eye of suspicion ?GEJ/OBJs goverment was the most balance in appointments, but did it stop it from being a monumental failure ? Despite all the billions of dollars pumped into power, we were still strugglin below 4KMW...what of petroleum sector...nothing to write home about...you are here talking demography... |

No matter how you look at, the appointments so far made by this administration is skewed heavily in favour of a particular section of the country and this is not fair to other ethnic groups. Buhari contested election to the Presidency of this country three times and failed on all the occasions. It took the political sagacity and ingenuity of Bola Tinubu to aggregate other political parties into one united party to achieve the feat of installing Buhari the President of this country, something he was unable to do in the past and could still not had done save for the pulling together of resources by these various parties now rolled into one. But today, Buhari is acting as if he won the election on the strength of his political party alone, neglecting the efforts of others who mobilised men and material which enabled the electoral success in the first place. I perceive him as not giving a damn about the reaction of his fellow party men across all divides in announcing appointments into positions without even spread. I forsee an implosion in APC and sabotage of this administration by the aggrieved party members should this trend continue. Consultation with party officials when taking key decisions is necessary in a democracy because it was on it's pedestal that an elected official rode into power. We voted for change but the change has to be positive and all embracing, and cannot be achieved when other sections of the country are neglected when making key appointments. Buhari should tread with caution in this area and apply the principle of federal character in future appointments to douse the tension already generated by his imbalanced appointments so far. He should make every Nigerian have a sense of belonging in his administration. |

Thanks for your analysis. It's really very educative that s appointments are made on merits and attention is given to the minority tribes. But in all of these, it is important to spread these among the whole minority groups in Nigeria. We must be seeing to be telling Pmb the blatant truth rather than putting up some permutations that suggest that he is doing the right thing. |

Sweetlemon:It's a common mentality among APC folks that their members are saints until those people rise against the power that be and their can of worms of deadly and heartless looting would be exposed eg Fashola, Saraki. So the trustworthy fellows are found only in the north. Smh for the way APC has hypnotized and brainwashed some youths to stupor. |

Sweetlemon:SGF Babachir Lawal-Until his appointment Babachir was the APC Vice Chair North East and a career politician who is a major ally of corrupt ex governor Murtala Nyako. Col Hamid Ali Customs CG- Notorious bigot who served under Abacha's dictatorship and was on the kangaroo tribunal that sentenced Ken Saro Wiwa to death. He is supposedly "incorruptible " yet he was a major player in Abacha's junta and a hawkish secretary of the Arewa Consultative Forum. |

Those who speak the language of Mr president should tell him that Nigeria is unique in so many ways.Even though it is too early to pass a verdict on his appointment pattern, the trend so far tends to raise some questions. 1. It was believed that the delay in appointment was to search for credible Nigerians who CAN WORK with Mr President. 2. The appointment of technocrats so far discovered does not reflect Federal character. 3. Nigeria is too complex a nation to overlook some of the factors that determine our national unity. 4. There is still time for APC to correct this impression among Nigerians that some regions are too corrupt that men and women of integrity are in short supply. 5 Everybody will not be in the president's cabinet but men and women of integrity abound here and in the diaspora to serve their country and give his government a national outlook. |

Sweetlemon:I love this poster (no homo) finally, someone that thinks like the human being he is and making use of his God given IQ..... OP.... You are the best..... Thanks for this piece.... Mind you, I am a deltan and a Christian..... I don't care who is appointed so long as they get the job done without issues..... It's high time Nigerians think and talk mature and stop acting like children in kindergarten...... I cringe when I see old men with families fighting for somebody from their village to be elected...... Wailers grow up.... |

Sweetlemon:May your blessings be a thousand fold every single day you draw breath. you took the words right out of my mind. wish I could give you a bear hug. and a kiss Maybe. We are So wrapped up in ourselves here in the South that we do not think of other minority tribes in the North. we think they are accidentals in this project called Nigeria. How arrogant of us. Ask the average Ijaw person what he gained from the Jonathan presidency in the last 6yrs and I'll bet he won't be able to point to anything. same thing for the Yorubas during Obj's 8yr tenure. when will Nigerians learn that appointing your tribes man or clansman does not translate to better life for you unless Maybe the person is your dad or something. we want technocrats, we want new faces, we want people who do not owe any cabal any compensation for his appointment (are we not tired of god-fatherism), we want people from the minority tribes north and south of this country. I dream of the day when we will have an Ibibio as president and Berom as vice, when Itshekiri will be speaker of the house of reps and Angas or Tehl or any if the hundreds of minorities will hold other important political posts. God bless you for this nice post. |

LouisVanGaal:You know nothing of Vital statistics, operational analysis, game theory, barriers to entry, capital flight, IS-LM equation. That's why you think the past administration was a flop. When you have a knowledge of economics, its parameters and what it truly entails, you will know what NOI, Diezani and GEJ did for the country. Till then, keep your mouth shut. |
