Please car gurus in the house my corolla has this engine sign permanently on in its dash board. I have scanned the car and the report was that the ignition coil was bad. Got my mechanic to check it and change the plugs, he found out the ignition coils are still intact. Please what could be the solution here. |

Ignition coil is bad. Mechanic checked, and ignition coil is intact. The presence of the ignition coil, does not mean it's not faulty. Ignition coil is bad, but you decided to change spark plugs? Your OBD11 scan has pointed you in the right direction. Change coil, cancel code and check if engine management light returns. |

Thanks all. I guess I will have no choice but to change them then. I was reluctant in changing it when my mechanic said signs of a bad ignition coil were not evident in the car, this is after he physically inspected each of the coils and found them to be good. Thanks anyway, I will make moves towards changing it. Do you think it might be one of the ignition coil that is bad? Can scanning detect the exact one? Thanks |
