It might be possible..if he has enough research work and publications( let's not dwell much on d naija connection factor that mayb aided him to) to qualify him for such positions. The truth is that many senior lecturers deserve to b prof shortly after their phd but itz jes wtickedness of d system that denies them,so let's not take the abnormality in our university system as d norm.. he might hav deserved it,u neva can tell..

My project supervisor who got his phd in 2007 with over 28 scholarly articles and journal both in Nigeria and international is still not a senior lecturer in UNIPORT. Can this young Professor boost of 20 scholarly articles and journals Only in the north.......

From what I read, he was never in Nigeria since 2001 until 2007. The system in this country is "get at least a foreign degree and see the door of professorship opening for you to enter". He was assistant lecturer for just a year and he traveled in 2001 up till 2007. He became HOD in 2008, based on his resume, he does not have the required experience and leadership needed to manage such post. HOD is not only about academics, its involve delegation, administration, etc. which he clearly didn't have as at 2008.

that he got his phd in 2007 does not mean he was away for d whole 7 years...it takes a year to get a masters, in d uk, it takes 24-30months to get a phd. he must have had time in between hus masters and phd to get d needed experience.
