Buhari doesn't live in Abuja. He lives in kaduna and has a house there. He never felt the need to own a house in Abuja. The Abuja house I believe was rented for one year ( 20 million naira sounds far too much and is probably much lower even for Abuja houses) to cover the campaign period when he had to hold meetings and receive many people and generally stay in Abuja for long periods at a time. A hotel accommodation would be less satisfactory for that purpose hence the house. I believe that Buhari had no intention of retaining a rented house in Abuja and he had never moved from his own house in kaduna to  the rented house in Abuja. It was in my view only a temporary abode convenient for a particular moment in time - the election period, and even at that time he always went back to his family in kaduna where he spent more of his time.
Right on point! Sometimes I wonder what Nigerians actually want. Here is somebody with a legendary fame of honesty and integrity but people are busy casting aspersions on him and guess what his sin is; not utilizing his influence to enrich himself after having held so many high profile positions including that of the head of state.  It’s a shame that we can’t celebrate our honest public officials! Are we not tacitly supporting the corruption? Are public figures supposed to be living such a very wealthy lifestyle even ten years after retirement? Buhari is the cleanest public figure I’ve ever seen in my life and It still baffles me how he was able to resist the temptation to join the horde all these years!

Buhari has one of the finest mansions in Minister's Hill, Maitama.
Every Cab/Keke NAPEP operator around Maitama knows it.
I drove past there in December.

Anyone that lives around Maitama can interview cap operators or residents there.
It's a shame to resort to peddling lies to score cheap political points.

Useless, silly propaganda.
Please can you give us the address of that house?

My prayer is that may God enthrone Buhari as our president in 2015 so we can tackle corruption once and for all in naija. WITHOUT FIGHTING CORRUPTION, NAIJA CAN NEVER EVER PROGRESS. LET NO ONE KID HIMSELF BY EXPECTING ANY MEANINGFUL PROGRESS BY ELECTING CORRUPT AND DEMONICALLY POSSESED THIEVES INTO PUBLIC OFFICES.NO NATION ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD HAS MADE PROGRESS WITH CORRUTION BEING COMMONPLACE IN THEIR LIVES. THIRTEEN STRAIGHT YEARS OF DEMOCRACY AND LOOK WHERE WE STILL ARE DESPITE ALL OUR YEARLY TRILLION BUDGETS.

I would vote a 90 year old Buhari than the bunch of hooligans coming on stream, even the young ones, they seem to be worse than the older ones. 20,000 Nigerians would go on exile if Buhari wins.

@badesco
You can add ignoramus to the name badesco.
1) Buhari after PTF was more investigated than anybody in Nigeria and the PDP government could not find any wrong doing.
2) Buhari has asserted (boasted if you like) that in all his time in office as a Governor of the NE (now 7 states) , as oil minister, as Brigade Commander, as Head of state he had never taken money that did not belong to him. For a man with so many enemies why cant they go to court and prove the contrary?
3)This explains why he cannot afford a house , either owned or rented in Abuja. Is it really important for everybody to own many houses?I think it depends on what you see as your objectives and values in life.

Who are the enemies of Buhari. Another myth. I believe this is a personal matter that some here and other places are trying to make political capital out of. Just leave the man alone. He himself knows his corruption status. They all know. It is only at this level we speculate. What has been proven against any othre Head of State. With the exception of Abacha (for obvious reasons - he was assasinated after crossing the rubicon) has there been any other C-in-C in the dock. Does that make them corruption free. Does it mean Gowon (we know what he did in the CBN during the war), Murtala (I will not speak of the dead), Obasanjo during his military reign, Shehu Shagari, Babangida, Abdulsalam and OBJ version II did not steal and mismanage because they have not served time or fight in the open market. The information is all out there. I don't know whether there is a statute of limitation in Nigeria but any and everyone of them can be brought back to trial with documentary evidence. It is a matter of putting the various evidences together.

It is not a Nairaland thing. People have information on these guys its just that no one is asking for it. No one will do anything about it. No one is fighting. They don't fight themselves. It is their supporters that 'stoop so low'. If Buhari was 'fighting' OBJ why did he not also bring out information about him which he has. He cannot do that. He cannot escalate it to that level without bringing the house down on himself and killing others. The Supreme court is the best he can do because the supreme court will NEVER upset the apple cart. They know. Infact it is the safest way of expressing your greviance and a convenient exit door. One of the closest events these folks have gone to breaking the pact was the OBJ v IBB mud bath last year but they were pulled back from the brink. Study those who called for peace very carefully and you get the gist.

When I read some comments here I just smile. Nigeria is not about these fellows and our problems are not about them. They all participated and helped to escalate our problems but they are certainly not the solutions. They are all the same. I will never go further than that becasue they are not willing to do so. If tomorrow they break their pact and it becomes a free for all then I will venture what I have.

Can't spot out the address correctly now.

Do you live in Abuja?
From Berger (Zone 6) stop at NICON junction, ask any KEKE/Cab operator
about Buhari's Mansion in Minister's Hill. It's a popular place among
residents of that area. If I'm lying let me be banned from Nairaland.

Even with decades of freedom from colonial slavery, these muderfuckers still name street after queen elizabeth in a suppose post colonial built federal capital. Same reason why they act like sub-creatures is because they are mentally enslaved, they dont understand the significance of anything, even names.

Interesting story. Must everyone lives in Abuja? Do you have any bussiness commitment there? Is this to garner symphaty? Must you stay in 20 million worth of house to be comfortable? Go for a smaller one and if its worst get back to your home town. General pls enjoy your retirement.

grin grin I laugh at your comment. Have you heard about the 12billion dollars oil wind-fall that IBB's government couldn't account for till today? Go check your history books for more lessons. As for OBJ, I guess you were not in Nigeria when the power sector probe was going on and you probably migth have been asleep when the senate probe brought to lime light all the shaddy deals that went on during the privatization under him. These are just few examples out of many that any Nairalander at all can give you sir. Mr Man, give us one case against Buhari apart from all these baseless rants you people carry around here. Am waiting.

Now he doesn't have to pay rent
For at least four years in the same Abuja.
The only difference this time is that he is
now occupying the most beautiful, powerful
and secured house in Abuja.

Why do you have to make such unsubstantiated comments. Shame on you.
