I don't think the government house is free of immunity. The governor get immunity the house he live can't get one too.
Lawmakers really the DSS are just doing their job. If the former security chief didn't know his job then i think this once do.

The Akwa Ibom government, should not only stop at Litigation, but also use the influence of the Senate Minority leader, who happens to be their ex-govenor, to convince the Senate leadership into calling the DSS to the House for a public enquiry. At the enquiry, the DSS head, who must be present, should be interrogated seriously, so as to get to the source of the bogus petition and who gave the order for the raid to be conducted. They have to squeeze out of him, a mandatory promise, to never neglect the statutes of the House whenever they receive another petition that asks them to repeat this draconian incident. This is what must be done, to finally bell the cat known as the new DSS.

This is what you get when you have law makers that know chilch. They confuse immunity from prosecution with investigation.

A governor can be investigated at any time. Plus the agents of the Federal Government of Nigeria can search any place in the nation, outside of foreign embassies, so long as they have the requisite Search Warrant.

I would like to hear the DSS version of events. I'm not sure we have the full story yet as everyone is rushing to issue statements and score cheap political points.
If DSS is found to have acted in breach of the law then sanctions should be made. I trust PMB for that.

I pray that young Nigerians learn to dissect issues without being partisan.

Under GEJ, when DSS acted with impunity, sympathisers were quick to justify grave human rights infractions. PMB should show that he is the bigger man by ensuring DSS and other security agencies respect the rule of law.

1. This isn't the 1st time DSS is being sued. The DSS has several suits pending at the Federal High Court all the way up to the supreme Court.

2. Under the past administration, the DSS became partisan and unprofessional.

3. DSS isn't the last hope of Nigerian security. The common man is.

4. Let's wait for your representatives to confirm or reject the appointment of the DSS boss.
