Less than 24 hours after security operatives raided his private residence in Owerri, the leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, monday reported at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) section of the Imo State Police Command for interrogation.
Uwazuruike, who voluntarily turned himself in on the invitation of the police, was immediately whisked away to the Zone 9 headquarters in Umuahia shortly after a closed-door meeting with the state Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu.
A senior police officer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the MASSOB leader was invited by the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, for a friendly chat, adding that he was not detained.
However, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Enwerem, said the MASSOB leader was summoned by the police authority over the activities of his group.
According to him, “MASSOB is an outlawed group and the same thing goes with their activities so his invitation was not unconnected to that. Yes he reported at the state command headquarters today from where he was moved to see the AIG in charge of Zone 9.”
But Uwazuruike who briefed journalists at his residence after he was released, said: “There is no going back on the struggle for Biafra.”
He added: “I was not at home on Saturday when I got a call that policemen invaded my home, in the morning I got a letter from the Imo State Commissioner of Police and so I reported in the morning and he told me that he does not want MASSOB in the state but he cannot stop him. There is no going back on Biafra and I was taken to Umuahia to see the AIG.
“At Umuahia, the AIG vouched for me that he has known me and my non-violent stance on the struggle for Biafra. Any one that does not want MASSOB should leave Igbo land.”
He however distanced his group from the activities of other splinter groups, that have engaged on criminal activities, “No MASSOB man has ever been caught for stealing, kidnapping, raping and other crimes. We are non-violent but no one can stop Biafra.”

the Nigerian govt is becoming outraged as the day goes by cos to them it is now glaring the Biafra struggle is no longer childs play they think it used to be.

If Uwazurike be Aaron, the Israelites must just have to give up on the promise land.

Just a couple of days ago, your leader, Nnamdi Kanu, mentioned 88 countries and here you are quoting 94, so which are we to believe ?
Plus the fact that you hold meetings in those countries does not mean that they recognize you but due to freedom of association. For all you know, they may not even be aware of your mission but since you don't disturb the public peace, its okay by them.

However, i pray the Lord to hasten the actualization of biafra.

Uwazuruike remains a hero to the whole Biafran struggle and this is why
1. When no one was talking about Biafra and all the elders were intimidated from even mentioning the word, Uwazuruike mentioned it without fear.
2. Uwazuruike went to jail for us to be free, the same with MASSOBians.

No doubt there are flaws in the structure and plans of MASSOB, but from my perpective, MASSOB achieved one of the most important milestones for the struggle which is to remove the taboo that the Nigerian nation placed on the word BIAFRA..

Every other organisation that has emerged is practically building on the foundation that Uwazuruike's MASSOB laid whether they like to admit it or not, so I will advise that people be a little more complementary of MASSOB when referring to them.

Tomorrow, I may come up with an organisation, aims and objectives that are more fruitful to the Biafran cause, but I mustn't go insulting Nnamdi Kanu just because I feel I have a better vehicle for achieving Biafra.

Positive result is what we want. Since he could command millions from wherever he is ( as said by u, cos he was here life in Aba for dat rally yet u couldn't do anything) than most of those u mentioned, then it's fine. If Biafra will be achieved with his brain work under comfortable roof, it's accepted.


Use ur head and plan for period upcoming where there will be no Igbos in ur oduarewa.

Lack of comprehension, he said over 88 countries, and as of last count St. Lucia Island made it 94 countries.

Over 88 countries, could be 88 and above. Read well.

And fear not, I didn't say recognition of Biafra as a sovereign entity, I meant as a freedom organization, and freedom here encompasses many things.

I suggest you go to Facebook post of Radio Biafra of say March this year, you would see the official letter from Government of Australia.
