Hehehehehe… Do you think commercial pilots will ever take that risk flying fighters. The combat aircrafts are different from passenger plane dummy.

Who will NAF ever defeat with their only three functional F7s, I mean not even Djibouti would allow it. They would rather outshine Boko Haram and not a fully fleshed military.

Tell me, do they think they will defeat SAAF with such few outdated equipments? Three F7s which has always been seen ever since.

Well dude!! I cant make excuses for the few trolls that now and then pop up on this thread, if you've followed the thread throughout the years, you would've seen on multiple occasions were we actually agree that all our posts are just banter...nothing more.

And also most of the posts the last weak or so on this thread are not from regular members of this topic, just trolls that now and then pop up to derail the thread like @Lezz.

I suggest you read this topic Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread , all of the regular members on that topic are also the regular members of this one, we created 2 threads were we could use one for more serious discussions and this one were we could just have fun!!
Let's just say the tone and content here isn't my idea of fun and leave it at that. This is next level trolling! I'd rather lurk on the other thread.

Nigeria has 36 state and the Nigerian airforce with above 12 bases. Do u of expect to find all their fighter jets and pilots in one place. I guess you guys put all your Gripens and hawk in 1 place? Wise up

You have only three pilots left and that has been proven many times. You cannot keep over three F7s in the sky. Who do you think you will defeat with only five old cargos you call fighters?

Below is Helmoed Heitman's thoughts on the whole Beleaguered SAAF apparently reaching out to SAA for assistance
thing....interestingly he mentions that perhaps its time to get an army air corp, fleet air arm and a dedicated Special Operations structure. Wondering how my South African neighbors from down south on this thread think about that...I mean it would make sense in theory based on his reasoning....

Where does he imply that SAAF is reaching out to SAA for help or are you just making it up on your head?

Lol Erika Gibson. Last time her breaking news story was how SA troops armed themselves and feared for their lives, and were "held hostage" by Sudan troops. Both SANDF & United Nations denied her nonsense. She couldnt provide any further proof after that, no names, no ranks, no nothing. Let the SAAF itself talk about pilot numbers, not her or her so called sources.

Beleaguered SAAF apparently reaching out to SAA for assistance

The point has apparently been reached where the SA Air Force (SAAF) is aware it cannot fulfill its defence obligations and the airborne arm of the SANDF has turned to pilots flying for the national carrier, SAA, for assistance.
The Afrikaans Sunday paper Rapport said it has a copy of a memorandum sent to South African Airways (SAA) pilots last week. It asks them to help out as reserve pilots at a “few SAAF squadrons”. The paper points out the “emergency call” came in the same week the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) informed Parliament it could not depend on the air force in the event of a major shipping disaster, such as the Oceanos sinking in 1991.
Dr Cleeve Robertson, NSRI chief executive, told Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Transport 22 Squadron can “at best” put a pair of Oryx helicopters in the air to assist in sea rescue. He put it that the AFB Ysterplaat-based unit could “hardly” be called a squadron any longer.
The squadron apparently does not have any pilots currently qualified to land on vessels at sea. This has been put down to the non-availability of a platform for practice. The SA Navy supply vessel, SAS Drakensberg, is the preferred platform for this training but she has been out of commission for about 18 months undergoing a major refit and accompanying maintenance. She is now back in the water but has yet to be commissioned as fully seaworthy following the refit.
According to Rapport the memorandum issued by SAA Flight Operations is looking for pilots to increase “capacity” at certain squadrons. It goes on to state timescales will be finalised in the near future and, as soon as further information is available, this will be circulated.

No aircraft types are stipulated in the memo but there are any number of former SAAF members, who flew helicopters, light and medium transport, VIP aircraft and even jets now working at the national carrier. The paper spoke to serving SAAF officers who indicated that, in addition to aircrews for 21 Squadron, the VIP unit, aircrew was also urgently needed for the SAAF’s maritime capability.
“This,” the unidentified pilot said, “is fast reaching crisis proportions and maritime search and rescue can be said to be in the process of dying”.

Going back 10 years, 22 Squadron would be able to put six Oryx into the air while the squadron’s current situation is such it has one, possibly two, of the rotary-winged workhorses available at any given time.
LOL cheesycheesycheesy

This is epic !!!

South African air force has collapsed to the level of begging commercial airline to send them pilots.

Zulus/Xhosas Bantu mumus have wrecked all that their Boer white masters spent 300 apartheid years to labor and build.

No wonder they did not want to hand over power to Mandela, now we all see the reason, Zulu-Xhosa dull brains have ruined South Africa o !

South African economy is now third in Africa 2015 estimate.
Egypt $324 billion dollars to South Africa $323 billion dollars.

Nigeria 21th in the world, Egypt is 34th in the world and South Africa 35th in the world.
The only hope for South Africa now is a return to total minority white rule or else Burundi will soon be challenging South Africa in many things

What about your air force which has diminished to only five operational fighters? Hehehehe… you have a zero air force even the little Djibouti will destroy you.

Buhahahahahahahahahahahaha............ You don't need no Erika Gibson to tell you the SAAF has a severe pilot shortage. I mean, since 2013, we've been telling you, you do not have more than 9 Gripen Pilots, of which none of them are combat qualified.

Your people can't even provide source for What they claim about Nigerian airforce but we can provide up to 10 different sources about the pathetic state of your Airforce.

SA Navy Submarine Control Simulator, and on the deck of one of the frigates. You can see how the Umkhonto Surface to Air tubes can be increased or decreased from 0 - 32 missiles. 1st two pics by Dean Wingrin.

Missiles are stored under a pressurized inert gas. Hence the need for the raised hatch when one is loaded.
