It has been proven multiple times.

Don't worry Thiza and Saengine are about to execute operation photo posting.
Proven where and when?

By posting an article that says SAAF is working on building up a bigger pool of reserve pilots just like it has been doing since 1915?

A 12,7 gun for self-protection will also form part of the current role equipment while growth options for surface and sub-surface warfare had been allowed for. This could include anti-ship missiles, depth charges, torpedoes, and rockets.

Your lynx is just SAR with no ASW but growth options were allowed for. Too bad
And so?

Your lynx:

1. Is not operational
2. Has no sonar

South African don run. As we have proved their airforce is dead. I'm advising you not to challenge us again so that more won't be reviled.
How have you proven our airforce is dead?

Again, you are trying to create controvesy where there is none

By the way if you think 5% Shortage is significant, I give up. That can't be compared to a South Africa struggling to maintain a Squadron of 2 helicopters.
How pathetic you are.

According to you we are struggling to put 2 helos in the air yet we are operating 3 Oryx's and 3 Rooivalks currently in DRC.

SERIOUSLY judging by Nairaland South African are the dullest human being on earth why is because you judge by only what you think and not what you know. Most of you arguments on this thread have been based on what you think about others and not what you know.
Our arguments have been based on facts, that's why we always post citations that support our arguments, your arguments have been based on personnel emotion and what you think you know. You guys almost never post citations to support your arguments, just a few days ago you told me I should believe you because I will find nothing on the internet regarding the specs of Nigerian equipment, thus I should take your word as fact!!! I'm mean wtf!!

You guys are seriously the 2nd most ignorent buch ive

Provide cutations to prove this please.

Until proven otherwise - nigeria is unable to train its own pilots
Nigeria trains it's own air force pilots, South Africa is trained by tiny Cuba :

NATIONAL MIRROR NEWPAPERS
20/11/2011

The Nigerian Air Force 303 Flying Training School, Kano has trained over 127 basic pilots, conducted recurrence training for over 216 pilots and instructor pilots, as well as produced 16 instructor pilots for the air forces of Nigeria, Ghana and Zimbabwe, since its establishment in 1967.

This was disclosed by the Commander of the Kano Flying School, Air Commodore L.T Danbaki, at the graduation ceremony of Batch B of six Belarus Student Pilots. He revealed that the school was primarily tasked to conduct basic flying training on Jet Aircraft for graduates of flying and to conduct instructor pilots training. The unit also conducts conversion training for new instructors and pilot recurrence training for older ones, he added.

It was against this back-drop that they were sent to 303 Flying Training School in February 2010 and subsequently grouped into two batches for ease of instruction and this bold step returned huge dividends as student of the first batch graduated in December 2010 and are now fully operational in the field

Before passing through 303 Flying Training School, Nigerian pilots undergo ab initio training at 301 Flying Training School (FTS) at Kaduna. The unit flies Air Beetle and Dornier aircraft for ab initio and transport pilot training. Since inception, the unit has produced more than 600 student pilots for the NAF, Nigerian Navy and some other African countries.

For helicopter pilot training, students complete primary training at 301 FTS before moving to 305 FTS at Enugu. Before the establishment of 305 Flying Training School, helicopter pilots were sent overseas. In 1986 the NAF acquired Hughes 300C helicopters for 305 FTS, but they were withdrawn and replaced by Mi-34s.

1. SAAF is still training its own pilots.

2. As of 2009, most of its fleets were grounded and its training institutions were constrained with shortages of technical skills such as instructors and institutional facilities.

What fake Lynx helicopters?

Do your Lynx have sonar? Are your lynx even operational?

The answers: No and No

You are the one who ran away when I put the pressure on you.

And no, those comments have nothing to do with the Lynx. Those comments of anger are from when I posted citations and you refused to read them and relate to a completely separate matter. Please do not mis-quote me, it is extremely disingenuous

What fake Lynx helicopters?
The fake ASW South African Super Lynx helicopters that you claimed were CONSTANTLY embarked on the Valour frigates.

Same helicopters that you Southies showed us photos some weeks ago flying above your submarine in a current drill you call ANTI-SUBMARINE WARFARE TRAINING that no navy can do in Sub Saharan Africa.

Yet those Soweto Lynx are ordinary patrol/rescue harmless and powerless over-priced helicopters !!!!!!

They say photos don't lie, but not in South Africa where photos lie everyday !

Only God knows how many fake things are inside the SANDF, SAN, SAAF military photos you have been posting here to deceive the world since 2010 that this forum started.

If Naija guys did not burst your weak navy's burble few days ago, the fraud and deception would have continued all because you have many photos of South African military equipment all over the internet.

You people were deceiving everybody here last month claiming fraudulently that South African navy was conducting Anti-Submarine Warfare live training showing us many of those photos below, that your Super Lynx ASW helicopter was hunting after that submarine.....but it was all fake....fake....lies....fraud....deception !

When South Africa is involved, seeing is NOT believing o ! Photos do lie in South Africa !

After the whole argument it is now clear that South African airforce and South African Navy have nothing special.

Your Gripens have no pilots
Your Oryx no pilot
Frigate no torpedoes, no ASW, no sailors.
Lynx just SAR.
Submarine only 1 can be at sea at a time.

What else does SAAF and SAN have? I guess camera men.

Am sure your have lot of camera men in your armed forces, and I think it's a basic requirement.

-Gripen have no pilots

14 last time a checked

- Your Oryx no pilot

Who the hell said that?

- Frigate no torpedoes, no ASW, no sailors.

First, we can put two out at a time for operations. 4 at a time for fleet review. So we have sailors.

Second, Valour Class has Sonar

Third, as the only Sub-Saharan nation to operate submarines, we dont need ASW (unless we are going to attack ourselves??)

Fourth, NIGERIA HAS NO OPERATIONAL FIRGATES

Wow, you really didnt think that one through

- Lynx just SAR

Nope.

Data-Link = TARGETTING PLATFORM

And again, your Lynxes ARE NOT OPERATIONAL

- Submarine only one at a time

Consult pictures to illistrate your foolishness.

SAN is decades ahead of the NN

We remain the only Navy in Sub-saharan Africa that can actually do what Navies are designed for - fight high intensity warfare cool

Your Submarine pics are old not recent.

For Valour stop lying. And The last time I checked we haven't decommissioned NNS ARADU. so how is your valour the best in sub Sahara Africa? ARADU can still sink your four Frigate after refit. We also have more OPVs of Frigate size. tongue tongue tongue grin angry grin

2. Your Lynxes are non-operational

So, with regard to heli-born ASW we are in the same boat.

And no, even without Sonar our Lynxes are not just SAR. They have datalinks - that means they can expand our radar bubble and be used for targetting

1. Look at the age of your equipment androgen compare it to ours
2. About 40 years
3. Yes, useful in the fact that our navy is equipped for naval warfare with a force multiplier that even the British fear
4. O really? You will just wait for a war and then buy one, get it built and train a crew from scratch? Took san 6 years to do that - and we already had sub crews
5. Our navy is doing muuch better than yours thanks
