Judging from the Nigerian navy long term acquisition plan, Nigeria should be getting submarine by 2018.

With a fleet of 3 frigate, 2 stealth OPV, 4 corvettes and 10 FAC plus about 350+ patrol ships Nigeria can blockade Simon town naval base plus the whole of south african coastline at will. #FACT
Sometimes it is better to keep quiet.

Yes you'll be getting the following too:

1)LUH
2)Air craft carriers
3)Nuclear subs
4)F-22's
5)T-50

How will you block Simons Town when you don't even have a single sea worthy Frigate as of today.

I love your enthusiasm. tongue

Is SANDF going shopping or what?
http://www.timeslive.co.za/thetimes/2015/09/15/SANDF-goes-shopping
Shopping with what money?.
My advice to you is:
(1) Build your economy;as it is,your economy is undergoing regression at -0.8% growth output. With US rate hike coming up later this year, your economy is even more vulnerable due to SA's high market liquidity, unlike Nigeria's order-based two-way FX system that allows reasonable dollar restrictions
(2) Curb corruption{graft and mismanagement} from your government organizations, including your Ministry of Defence and Interior ministry; SA is now the most corrupt country in Africa
(3)Ramp up revenue generation.Ease market restrictions, terms and conditions placed on foreign investors; currently,SA's investment climate is highly oppressive
(4)Address your rising crime and unemployment statistics; empower your youths and diversify your economy with renewed vigour
(5)Stop chasing dreams
If not, then we've got another project biro.

We have a state owned company that manufacture armed drones that are currently used in the middle east against.

The seeker 400 is the most advanced drone in sub sahara.
SANDF has no seeker drone. NAF has missile armed drones, most advanced in all Africa from Cape Town to Cairo.

Only Nigeria has experience of armed drone combat in Africa and one of the 5 countries on planet earth.

Since when can a 22km air to air missile demolish a air defense frigate. Do you even know what you talking about
F-7 will shoot down your Lynx if it flies withing the Umkhonto 15 km range umbrella, we have 22 km range missile on F-7.

Also, we have Drones with 10 km range air to surface missiles, if it can climb to 8.5 km altitude, we will sink Valour frigates .

Where and when name the exercise and don't come and show us how they are busy training your incompetent fools
The NATO navies that exercised with SAN were training your incompetent fools in your navy that has ZERO combat experience in 70 years.

Nigerian navy exercises with NATO and they know our navy has war experience from Biafra war to Liberia to Sierra Leone to Niger Delta.

http://thenationonlineng.net/navy-hosts-multinational-sea-exercise/

Nigerian navy did the only Naval amphibious assault in African history on a scale bigger than what Britain did in Falklands war.

You call us untrained yet we have yearly naval war exercises with Nato, India and Brazil while you sit around doing jack shiiiit. You don't test fire anti air missiles on your ships, infact you've never even tested your aspides in the last 30 years. Your navy is irrelevant.

Nigeria has the Aspide MK1 the very first of the aspide family of missile old and outdated, 1970 system.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspide

Your military is outdated fact
The main 76mm guns on all your 4 Valour frigates were purchased in 1970s, removed from scrap yard and repainted to put on a stealth ship.

Your navy is both dumb and out-dated.. Fact

It is only SANDF that has the jurisdiction to guard our borders. The drones will surely be for intelligence, perhaps the agency was used as a coy.

The same way our military intelligence tried to escape ownership of a spy satellite.

You don't have naval armed drones nor are your 3 obsolete F-7's interceptors capable of attacking a air defense frigate fact.

Nigeria is your boss anyday anytime. You have nothing that scare us. Your incomplete, incompetent and unexperince navy and air force have nothing that scare us.
You have never face real battle, all you do is to snap pics. Camera defence force. A whole navy only boast of 15km missile you are a disgrace to Africa.

All equipment you post are stripped down version and your military men can't even operate them.

The only problem that face your country is rihno poaching and your military have given their best.

How will you face pirates if you have 1 not to talk of terrorist. They won't be snapping pics with you hope you know that? And your valours and subs won't help you either. Just imagine how incomplete you are.

Have you ever imagined how stvpid you valours will look if they watse all their missile trying to defend missiles from armed drone.

Over 50% of your naval fleet is down and out. You air force has only three fighter jet and is suffering from a chronic LOW AVAILABILITY disease. So, now tell me will you ever stand us in any battle with your only handful equipments. Your so called bogus armed drone will never save you the day because you can never put all your hopes on an unmanned machine which is highly unreliable. You will never know whether it will arrive or fall on its own.

SA valour is protected against any SEA-SKIMMING, CRUISE MISSILES AS WELL AS PGMS. We have an intelligent umkhonto missiles which provide an all found 360 defence. By the time we reach your shores you will relate a drama to us and tell us about your brief history which will then leave you with zero navy thereafter.

Are you this dull & desperate? Big mumu DAT can't read to understand. must you lie to get attention?

This is even last years post. Do you know how many equipment we have received since that date?

LONDON–The Nigerian air force is concerned that efforts to acquire new combat aircraft from Textron and AirLand Enterprises LLC to battle Boko Haram militants will be blocked over concerns about the country’s human rights record.
“We are really handicapped in attacking the enemy where we want,” Air Vice Marshal R.A. Ojuawo, the director of operations for the Nigerian air force, said Tuesday. “We need capabilities for a timely response.”
Nigeria has battled the Islamic insurgent group Boko Haram over control of the country’s northeast. Nigeria in recent days retook the area of Chibok, where the insurgents kidnapped nearly 300 schoolgirls in April.

The senior Nigerian air force officer expressed concern a deal could be blocked on human rights grounds after an earlier effort to acquire combat helicopters was blocked over the issue. The air force currently relies on a fleet of older jets, including Chinese-made F-7 planes and European Alpha Jets.
Textron, the largest maker of business aircraft, and AirLand have been marketing the Scorpion military jet as a low-cost option for many nations that can’t afford more traditional and expensive designs. The companies developed the aircraft on their own rather than relying on government funding, as is more traditional.
“We want this, we need this,” AVM Ojuawo said of the Scorpion jet. The country would initially look to acquire 12 jets to form one squadron. A formal request to buy the plane has not been made, though that could happen soon, he said.
Scorpion has been designed to cost less than $20 million per jet. The companies have said first deliveries could occur 18 months after they receive an order.
The battle with Boko Haram has led to more than 17,000 deaths since 2011, according to New York’s Council on Foreign Relations.
“These guys are armed to the teeth,” AVM Ojuawo said at DefenceIQ’s annual International Fighter conference here. Boko Haram forces are equipped with rockets and missiles and are funded by al Qaeda, he said.
AVM Ojuawo dismissed human rights concerns. He said bystanders harmed as part of the battleagainst insurgents shouldn’t be characterized as human rights abuses.
Nigeria also would be interested in arming surveillance planes to more quickly attack Boko Haram forces when they are spotted, he said.
