give me a line in any of his songs that inspires you undecided
his lines are mostly Yoruba, but a song like Soke is inspiring. Don't even use that cuz not all music is to inspire, T-Pain has never had an inspirational song. You just dislike Burna, this has nothing to do with his music. Have a nice day

This message is specially meant 4 lynxx itunu my broda..pls tell him to cum bck home cuz we luv him.
Dude lynxx is actually a good artist. its jst what naija music consumers turned him to. I remember his debut was very impressive but that was the terry g era when Nigerians started tripping for music that absolutely made no sense.

And who told you David can't sing
GodMode:
Rubbish,

Davido can't sing yet his daddy's money made him famous and he now has his own money...

With money, all things are possible... In case you don't know, you better know now that
MONEY IS THE GOD...
Re: EDITORIAL: Music Is Not For All by Nobody:
@op

To each his own! Sincerely, I'd be happy to know how successful you are in your own chosen life endeavor. You see, the easiest hobby to take up is non-portfolio-advisor and critic hobbies but guess what, they don't pay bills.

Well, I stand bold to say that less than 5% of inventors are always lucky to be alive to enjoy the success of their inventions , this is so because the road to discovery is always tedious and long. Inventors are better known for enjoying post-houmous glory and legend status, not a bad thing anyway. In a nutshell, there's nothing bad in imitating and bettering the original, this is the easiest way to stardom and success in any life endeavor. Therefore, I see nothing wrong in people that tries to copy other established musicians.

Secondly, just like in business, "fall back option" is the quickest route to failure for any musician or musical group. The very moment you create out the fall back option your level of creativity, passion, perseverance and risk diminishes automatically because you have the option to quit. I am a proponent of "burning the bridges" after crossing a river in any battle. When you cross the river and burn the bridge you're left with only two options: Conquer or Perish.

In the other hand, majority of the general populace misconstruction of what "education" really is is the bane of our retrogression as a country. Certificate/going through formal school doesn't guarantee automatic intelligence or success but "education" (been a master in your chosen art) does. Guess what, you can gain education either formally or informally. I didn't say this to encourage anyone to dropout from formal school, no, but I say it to encourage those who believe that they can gain properly educated through self-education and hands-on experience in their chosen line of art to live on their opinion and never sway from their belief.

In summary, as far as I am concerned, your article nay opinion is trash yet I still believe that you are entitled to your opprobrium.

I listen to ALL types of music, even genres you've never heard of. From Frank Sinatra to Dolly Parton, il Divo to backstreetboys, Linkin Park to Run DMC, Sir Victor Uwaifo to Adekunle Gold. If it sounds good, it's on my playlist and I don't come online to put down anyone's taste like I know jack.

you can't compare cuz they don't do the same genres and do not have the same target audience. Perhaps if Burna has to make music to appeal to a large base of caucasians and Westerners, he'll go differently, Yawa Dey is a song for the streets, Castle of Glass isn't.

Street song you say, what is street song? is street song a genre of music. Let's call a spade a spade. What is rubbish is emphatically rubbish

Anyhow, but the sky is wide enough for all birds to fly without disturbing each other. And in Nigeria you don't even need sensible songs to make both sensible and mad money.
Yes the sky is wide but have you taken time to ask yourself how many 'singers' we have in Nigeria. How many of them are actually popular. He ain't discouraging dudes. If you know you are so good and love it go for it but the only thing the op is saying is HAVE A BACK UP PLAN

This post is meant for Blackface who now lives on my street putting on rubber slippers and driving golf about(gotten from his yahoo-yahoo money). He now does 500naira shows about in a lowcost hotel. Sometimes when i see him on TV lying I just feel like calling and pointing out his lies.
Just saying though and don't think I'm lying.

Street song is a song meant for people who don't have sticks shoved up their A-holes. Songs like Wiz Khalifa's 'We Dem Boys" and Rick Ross' 'Can't Hold Me Down'. It is NOT crap except you're looking at it from a B*tch perspective. Yawa dey is sending the message of people who just love poking their noses in others business and wishing their downfall, it also tells of Burna's rise to fame, basically saying to others "it might not start well and you will encounter detractors, but just keep going". If you can't break it down to understand that, then you're in no position to determine what's crap and what isn't

do you know that American artistes lip-sync on their music videos? Do you know what lip-syncing is? We're talking about making good music and you're talking stage performance, they don't relate. When I'm jamming to Run My Race, I hear the recording, I don't see Burna's lip movements. Lip-syncing has never made anyone's music 'crap' except he's not the original artiste on the track

burna boy lip syncs no doubt, that is a general problem with Nigeria Music,
but does not take away natural talent,
the fact remains that he has a nice voice
and he is also versatile! If you do not like him, thats your cup of tea

You're very intelligent. Not all music is set to inspire. Some inspire, some pass on information and the rest entertain. Burna's music is full of entertainment value. Plus he's so original.
