agaugust:Umkhonto missile is a multi purpose SAM. Call it the way you want because it can shoot down missiles as well and it has been proven. It means you still don't know the capability of umkhonto missiles. Bwahahahaha… missile is not a jet and exactly the one that has the same speed as that of a jet will tear it apart. Remember, missiles runs at full speed as immediate and jets being controlled by human will not. |

UMKHONTO MISSILE PROVIDING AN ALL ROUND 360 DEFENCE AGAINST AIRCRAFTS, CRUISE MISSILES AND SEA SKIMMING MISSILES. AS PROVEN AND TESTED. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SPEED, ONLY HAS MORE TO DO WITH WHERE IT MEETS OR ENGAGE THE TARGET.

lionel4power:In your case you can't comprehend the simple fact that an enemy submarine presence in Nigerian waters would move your armed forces/navy from being proactive to being reactive at sea. Giving the opposing enemy navy full control of events at sea. Causing your navy to divert massive resources/equipment to hunting an elusive sub or protecting high value targets/warships/oil installations. Nigeria has no anti-submarine capability. |

agaugust:You expose your ignorance again Tell what is the 1)Ingwe 2)Badger 3)Skyshield CRAM All of this are budgeted for and currently being delivered. Some CRAM systems are already deployed. If I were you I would shut up because Nigeria don't even have anything in the class of our Skyshield.

RAYTHEON SM-6 (STANDARD MISSILE) IS CATEGORISED AS AN SAM BUT IT CAN SHOOT DOWN BALLISTIC AND CRUISE MISSILES, SAME AS UMKHONTO MISSILES. AGAUGUST DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING LIKE THIS, RATHER WOULD EXPECT THE MISSILE TO BE CALLED ANTI-MISSILE MISSILE. IT IS REALLY UNFORTUNATE THAT THIS MAN DOESN'T MOVE WITH TIMES. http://breakingdefense.com/2015/08/sm-6-can-now-kill-both-cruise-and-ballistic-missiles/ |

iblawi:High speed target drone. Test are there to check if the missile performs as expected or designed to(operational requirements). That's why in many cases the drones are not destroyed in the tests. In that picture you can see the missile makes a climb before moving to attack the target . |

iblawi:All missiles are tested against preferably drones to simulate aircrafts and missiles. Do you by any chance think that missiles are tested against a real fighter jets with pilots on board? You must be kidding me. |

iblawi:What do you have that are modern and better. If the system is so bad why is it currently deployed on Swedens Visby class corvettes, Finland's warships and will be integrated on the Algerian Meko200. A South African made SAM in service on Nato warships. Where is Nigeria's SAM that they exported to Nato or any other country. |

lionel4power:WHAT ABOUT YOUR THREE CRASHED F7s WHICH WAS PART OF 15 YOU ORIGINALLY PURCHASED? you are missing the point that your air force as confirmed by your chief, just like navy your air force is suffering from a chronic LOW AVAILABILITY disease. |
| Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 7:25am On Sep 17, 2015 |
JUST A FACT THAT CAN NEVER BE DISPUTED. Nigeria's F7 jets have never, will never and can never fire missiles throughout its history. |

African traditional dancers and a drummer celebrated the marketing launch for next year’s Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) exhibition held in London last night. According to the organisers, AAD 2016 from September 14 to 18, to be held at AFB Waterkloof Air Force Base, Centurion, in Tshwane will be the best and biggest so far. The event, which is held every two years, is the largest show of its kind on the continent. With an additional aircraft hangar area for space the organisers hope to attract 500 companies to the show next year, compared to 440 in 2014. Last night’s launch, held at the South African High Commission attracted mostly South African defence company representatives and government officials in town for the Defence and Security Exhibition International (DSEI) show. Whether invited guests from international companies did not want to brave the heavy rain storm or were lured by other DSEI fringe receptions, they missed a range of fine South African wines and boerewors. In remarks at last night’s reception, Minister of Defence Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula said the aim was to make AAD 2016, “not just a South African event, but a continental spectacle.” She said it was part of a wider effort by Africans to defend themselves and create their own defence industrial capability. For the first time ever the African Union will take a pavilion at Waterkloof. With the gradual establishment of the African Standby Force (ASF), attempts to ensure greater commonality of equipment for such a unit could be more at the forefront of procurement considerations in the years ahead. Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda have said they will take stands at AAD to show their defence products. A year ahead of the show, the organisers say the space on offer is already 50% booked and Belgium, China, France, Germany, Turkey, the UK and the US have so far confirmed they will take national pavilions. |

Msauza:Low availability of what? We currently have more combat aircraft and pilots than South Africa. So what is the low availability about. He didn't even mention F7. If 3 F7 crashed of of 15 we still have 12. ![]() |
