Nigeria has reserved anti-submarine capability on Lynx helicopters and NNS Aradu itself having her ship sonar and torpedoes.

South Africa has been proved to have submarines but zero anti-submarine capability.

If you send submarines to threaten a country, you also miss the use of that submarine in you own home, travelling far to attack leaves you exposed at home with less defensive capability.

The size of the navy you attack with submarine, actually matters, for example Nigeria has the biggest navy in Africa with about 400 vessels.

Too many platforms are available to Nigeria to hunt and sink a submarine, it is delusion and ignorance for a South African diesel-electric engine submarine to be called elusive.....only a nuclear power engine submarine can be truly elusive.

Diesel submarine will be forced to snorkel in 2 days or else battery power dies and it will sink to sea bottom.

With powerful coastal radars, coastal TV cameras, ATR-42 surveyors, Beechcraft 350 ER, Diamond ISR aircraft, armed CH-3 drone, armed stealth Catamaran IPV with echo sounder underwater object detectors, armed high speed ocean interceptor with radars and FLIR, Alpha jets and Mi-35 helicopters.....your snorkeling submarine will be found and killed after 2 days underwater, it must part-surface to snorkel and death will came that hour !

It's hard to fight a major African power like Nigeria, it's very hard, Nigeria has too many things to throw back at the enemy.
Look at this bull shiiit I'll respond to it in due time and even prove some of the aircraft you posted are also non operational.

Attach a source from Sipri and stop making noise. Many source I provided said there were only two and that number was reduced to one.
why are you lying again? You only brought 1source which claim they saw two. Big lair.

You expose your ignorance again

Tell what is the
1)Ingwe
2)Badger
3)Skyshield CRAM

All of this are budgeted for and currently being delivered. Some CRAM systems are already deployed.

If I were you I would shut up because Nigeria don't even have anything in the class of our Skyshield.
Tell me about SANDF ancient 1950 to 1980 equipment still in frontline service :

1. Dakota MPA
2. Ratel IFV
3. Olifant Mk1 tank
4. Casspir MRAP
5. Samil vehicles
6. Batleur rocket launcher
7. Cessna aircraft
8. Warrior class patrol boats
9. Recoilless anti-tank gun
10. Vulture drone

That's ten different obsolete junk equipment in your arsenal, yet you pick on other people's old weapons, you have tons of them too grin grin

All.of the list above is still in service and what I.like the most is that they are all not complex tech such as equipments used by navy and air force.

With Nigeria is total disaster since navy and air force which use complex technology is affected.

Even their minister of defence said they have more obsolete equipment than new owns. Take the navy for example, the only thing new in SAN is just
1) 4 Frigates
2) 3 Submarines
Every other thing is over thirty years old. They only snap pics with the 4 Frigates and 3 submarines.
Very useless force.

RAYTHEON SM-6 (STANDARD MISSILE) IS CATEGORISED AS AN SAM BUT IT CAN SHOOT DOWN BALLISTIC AND CRUISE MISSILES, SAME AS UMKHONTO MISSILES. AGAUGUST DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING LIKE THIS, RATHER WOULD EXPECT THE MISSILE TO BE CALLED ANTI-MISSILE MISSILE. IT IS REALLY UNFORTUNATE THAT THIS MAN DOESN'T MOVE WITH TIMES.

Does South Africa have the American Raytheon SM-6 missile you are quoting here? No.

Case closed.

High speed target drone. Test are there to check if the missile performs as expected or designed to(operational requirements).

That's why in many cases the drones are not destroyed in the tests.

In that picture you can see the missile makes a climb before moving to attack the target .
That picture is not real life you dunce grin grin

It is an artist's computer generated 3D photo of Umkhonto missile imaginary capabilities grin grin

Mumu, artist's drawings are mere imagination put into images.

Umkhonto was ONLY tested against a slow speed, SUB-SONIC speed Sea Skua drone, yet you claim it can magically stop a supersonic PL-9C missile that has almost double the speed of Umknonto.....fool, does a donkey run after a horse and catch up with it ?

It would be even greater if African countries can get together and put away petty nationalistic ideologies and start a single African Aerospace Company and develop there own systems.
African leaders don't cooperate to that level. Shame. Envy, hate and incompetence won't allow them to cooperate profitably.

JUST A FACT THAT CAN NEVER BE DISPUTED.

Nigeria's F7 jets have never, will never and can never fire missiles throughout its history.
How did our F-7 fire PL-9C training missiles with Pakistan? Why did we buy them armed with PL-9C air to air missiles?

SAAF Gripen jets cannot fire missiles in combat.

All missiles are tested against preferably drones to simulate aircrafts and missiles. Do you by any chance think that missiles are tested against a real fighter jets with pilots on board? You must be kidding me.
Advanced countries test missiles against high speed supersonic drones, not the slow speed subsonic drone used by South Africa to test Umkhonto missile and then begin to claim it can do what it has not been tested to do, desperately trying to defraud innocent buyers.

Tested against the best target drone in Africa SKUA.
980 km/h slow speed Skua drone, used to test Umkhonto, then you came out to say Umkhonto can catch up with an F-7 jet that has 2,200 km/hr speed or stop/intercept a PL-9C missile that has 4,000 km/h speed even almost double times faster than the Umkhonto.

The IRST was tested and Qualified using Denel's Target SKUA at Overberg. So your garbage don't mean anything.

As a so called military analyst who works in the defense industry you know very little.
Who told you IRIS-T was never tested in Germany before anywhere else? They can test it again for SAAF in your own land to get sales business and make you buy.

IRIS-T is not an anti-missile missile, it cannot stop a missile like the PL-9C of NAF. Period.

The tests determine if the missile performs as expected and designed to.

Why are you calling the PL-9C "a supersonic missile"?

No maximum ceiling is confirmed for CH-3 drone on internet. Manufacturer has classified it. Most reputable military websites are silent on the maximum ceiling .

I guess you can't differential between exercise and warfare.
The simple question is how long will your subs last submerged before being detected by our craft.

You think modern submarines are like WW2 U-Boats.

They have radar warning or radar systems.

A submarine can be anywhere trying to detect a snorkel at sea is just madness.

Long enough to sink any major vessel Nigeria has.

Long enough to have your admirals order majority of your to protect bigger ships.

They'll have an operational area where they'll hunt and attack vessels and leave the area to recharge it's batteries. They can attack targets and leave the area out to 5000km come back when required and attack further targets.
