The Yoruba and Igbo factions of a major association in the Olugbede Model Market in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos are poised for a showdown which could result to loss of lives and property if not nipped in the bud.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/09/igbo-yoruba-clash-over-leadership-at-lagos-market/

Egbeda traders are the ones at fault following the information provided. they shouldn't except their competition to move over for them and share customers just because they are the traders from there. if they couldn't defeat them in the business then start a new business they are not in. the solution is very simple |

The silly writer of this news painted the yorubas white as if the igbo traders are accommodated in the market free of charge. |

The way some reporters report news would make one think that if crises erupts as a result of their pattern of reporting that the brown envelops they collect will be enough to fly them out of the country. |

I don't think the story was written by Vanguard. I clicked on the link and the publisher simply said "source, Vanguard" The writer has sinister motives |

Yorubas own the media. See one sided reportage. The Igbos cornered all positions for 12years but when it mentioned the leader (iyaloja) and egbede leader they were yoruba names. |

The reportage is not balanced rather one-sided. l am Igbo, born and raised in Lagos but would not gloss over the truth that Lagos is ancestrally owned by the Yorubas because my father bought plots of lands way back in the 70's from a Yoruba family and not from any other tribe. Lagos is not a no-man's land but a land that has accommodated everybody. |

heavenstorm:l hope you are through with insulting yourself, l suggest you enquire about Psychiatric services and since anything Lagos sets you off, l suggest you try Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, New Haven, Enugu, it is opposite St. Mulumba Catholic Church, New Haven, it will not be difficult to locate. l leave you in the Lord's hands with this. Psalm 109:17-20 17 He loved to curse; let curses come upon him! He did not delight in blessing; may it be far from him! 18 He clothed himself with cursing as his coat; may it soak into his body like water, like oil into his bones! 19 May it be like a garment that he wraps around him, like a belt that he puts on every day! 20 May this be the reward of my accusers from the Lord, of those who speak evil against my life! |

I don't think I've ever come across any reporting that is as biased as this report. No attempt was made to narrate the Igho side of the story. All the people quoted were Yoruba. Yoruba Journalism has gone to the dogs. Btw, go to Onitsha, and you will find out that Onitsha's commercial reputation is not bestowed on it, by Onitsha indigenes. It's mainly Igbos from other parts of Igholand that has made Onitsha what it is As a matter of fact, Onitsha people are mainly into education and are hugely into the civil service both in the private sector and public sector. |

The amala-eaters are seeing what the abokis have seen a long time ago, namely the akpu-eating flattheads are not to be trusted. Give them an inch they take a mile, give them a yard, they take a mile. Biafra will not come until the amala-eaters uproot those flattheads from Lagos. Until you deal with the chestbeaters they will never recognize how to show respect to others. Go to Kano now and see how nice and humble these flattheads have become. They will beating their chests until aboki started macheting them one by one. In Kano (and the North in general), you see the flattheads going about their business with humility and very little chestbeating(if any at all)- they dare not try any stupid nonsense.Haven't said all these, lets not forget that the amala eaters and the akpu-eating flattheads are both a nuisance that need to shut up or go away. Its the tribalist signing off. |
