MichealEmeritus:
Barcanista, must you comment on every issue?

Is it a must that you reply to every political event in this country?

Is Nairaland your permanent place of work? You seem to be on here 24/7.

Now I know u may have a short memory but you openly campaigned for the election of Ekweramadu to be the DSP, your new party PDP joined forces with Saraki to go against APC party guidelines.

You joined the thousands of PDP minions who celebrated the emergence of Saraki as Senate President, now in your usual flip-flopping and unstable manner, you are making up all these nonsense just to appeal to sentiments.

We do not need you to tell us that Saraki deserves to face Justice. That is the exact reason why majority of Nigerians booted your Hero, GEJ out of power and elected PMB to clear this mess.

Instead of all these nonsensical posts, tell us the change PDP will bring in 2019, what are you going to offer Nigerians? Will PDP finally publicly apologise to Nigerians for 16 years of misrule?

Finally, my sympathies for your expulsion from Facebook, what happened?
cheesy grin

Patronising? The only entity this article is patronising is Nigeria, Kwara state people and the victims of SGB. It is also a testament that the new and restructured PDP will not tolerate nor condone corrupt practices and will support legal processes to be followed against any accused person instead of press/media trial.
Yeah.....I think the next question should be, who is going to be the new Senate President?

His party saw all these and still spoke well of him prior to the 2015 General election period and brought him to the Senate. Smh
'Coming to Senate' is always each state's affair. What could Kwara APC do to stop her 'leader' from coming?

But bro, you knew all these and supported him to be the Senate President too.

@ bolded, your guess is right. He did that so that people would use his new moniker to judge him , His past hurt him so much that he as no choice than to deactivate his then moniker since he can can't edit it all so he decided to deactivate.
People like him are chameleon. I am 100% sure when APC start favouring him he will deactivate this new moniker again. I remember vividly when he just crossover he said he would not edit his (Pro-Buhari thread) previous post/deactivate his previous moniker, He should have keep to his word if he is man enough but unfortunately he is a coward.

Someone gave an analogy of the adulterous woman and Jesus Christ.
I think this case between Saraki and the FG fits perfectly well.
We as the Citizens are Jesus, FG plays the role of the angry mob, and Saraki himself is the adulterer.

Barca, while I understand your angle completely, I would be more than glad if the person involved wasn't Saraki.
He is guilty....I know. But so are those calling for his head.

What we are witnessing is a case of Dog eat Dog politics.
What we are seeing today is a form of message being sent to all and sundry that you do not step on the tail of a lion and go scott free.

If he was good enough to become a member of the senate, why not a senate president also?
The cabals in APC got out-witted in their own game and it is hurting them silly.
This goes to show the hypocrisy and evil of people who tout themselves as change agents.

Truth be told, this trial and brand of justice is selective and tantamount to extreme political witch hunting.

But guess what, I'm not bothered.
Either way it pans out, it's a win-win for me.

Saraki wins - He will continually remain an eyesore and a slap in the face to the evil APC cabals.
Saraki loses - Justice would have been won for the people of Kwara state.

I will now conclude in the words of Jesus himself
"Let Him That IS Without Sin Cast The First Stone"...
Why stop at this?? Why don't you go full throttle, create a thread to reprimand this renegade puppy of yours so it could crawl back grovelling at your feet in apparent remorse for daring to hold an opinion contrary to yours- just like you did the last time when he avowed it was nonsensical for Saraki to be compared to Tinubu politicallyhuh Seems the leash
is becoming somewhat loose, you need to tighten it a lil bit.

What the heck am I even saying- two clutterheads bumping horns should be none of my business.

Your twaddle for response is much expected anyway.

Like I said, I openly campaigned for his ascension to the Senate for basically TWO reasons:
1. To halt APC's total dominance of the Legislative arm of government and cause a crack. grin

2. To remind APC that you can't deliberately bring a man like that to the Senate and later cry that he's of questionable integrity because he moved against your establishment.

Let me remind you that the primary criteria to be elected as Senate President is to be a member of the Senate. If APC hadn't brought Saraki, nobody would have supported him. Also remember that I was only supporting the "rebellious" candidates, Saraki, Dogara and Deputy Speaker Losun were only beneficiaries. The reverse would have been the case if they were APC anointed. grin

Comprehension is a problem. If they can't read where I acknowleged my support for his Senate Presidency then they should go swim in an ocean.

I think some of them are just pained, filled with hate and whatever. It's their business my brother. Ignoring them will be just fine!

The 2 reasons are fair enough, at least I felt convinced his emergence will keep Jagaban in checks too.

I think APC brought him in without considering his 'maradona' antecedents, very cunning man. He cornered them.

Truth is, with Saraki where he is, Bubu can't fight any corruption because Saraki got there with the support of 'very corrupt' people too. It will all be 'back-and-forth' till 2019.

Thank God that you have seen it, Buhari fraternise with several other corrupt/alleged corrupt elecment in his bid to get to power. Some of these people are occupying offices while others are touted for appointment. With such baggage, how will he be able to effectively fight corruption? He will only be 'selective' at best.

Remember that Obj also fought selective corruption but was touted for shielding his friends. Same fate awaits Buhari!

I hardly comment on threads, reading and learning from each posts educates me. . It saddens me to read the gibberish you wrote up here, an educative adult? Really? Pardon me for the choice of words 'a man who took the life savings of innocent nigerians? A man whose agenda is only is in his belly,pocket,self-ambition at the expense of nigerians, claiming landed properties worth trillions as at year 2003, A doctor who owns dat amount without practising? After adding up hiz assets, total known worth to be around 14trillion, just coz he served two term tenure as governor? May God judge him according to his handiwork.

The reality is he couldn't have won without them, no one can in this present Nigeria and we all know even if he isn't a saint, he is quite different from 'them'.
He is in power now, it falls on him to uphold his status or soil himself, hope he chooses the former.

Any effort at probing will still be much welcomed by Nigerians than doing nothing.

The truth is that we can't continue with the maintenance of status quo and expect different result. Only time will tell whether or not Buhari will shield his allies. So far, he's has been shielding some.

This your assertion (2nd point) is quite wrong, its so unimpeachable wherever 'he' contested either (APC,PDP), all-sundry knew the outcome even before election, no challenger to battle dis Man, so stop given this as excuse and comeup with a tangible detail to buttress your choice. Moreove he'z already a sittn senator before decamping. .

Was Buhari's assets not also falsified? El-Rufai failed to declare his hundreds of houses and plots in Abuja.
Why is it that only political enemies are witch hunted using the whole instrument of the FG to pursue them. While friends of the president or the dulllard himself can declare anything and nobody bothers him.

Ok finally this is a barcanista post I can get behind after a very long time. I hope Saraki gets everything he deserves if that includes jail time all well and good. I don't care about witch-hunting, as long as that person is guilty let him face the music. If you want to step on toes then make sure you come with "clean feet". Fact of the matter is Saraki took a big spotlight turned it and shone it on himself and now he's facing the consequences.

I hope more politicians are taken to court, I like Fashola but even if he is found guilty, then he needs to go to jail. Truth of the matter is, all these guys that steal do not love you or me so why should I care how they end up in jail if guilty, political witch hunting or not.
Re: False Asset Declaration: Nigerians Must Stand With Code Of Conduct Bureau by drnoel: 2:21pm On Sep 18, 2015
TonyeBarcanista:
I am not a fan and has never been a fan of Senate President Olubukola Saraki (I don't hate him either). I don't dislike him because he's a fulaniman/Yorubaman neither do I dislike him because he's a member of the ruling All Progressive Congress. It is a fact that I am an admirer of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso despite his affiliation to the APC and his fulani ancestry. The point is that neither partisanship nor ethnicity can influence my likeness or otherwise for any individual or politician.

Prior to the March 28 election, I vehemently opposed Saraki's bid to the Senate. My position was (and still remains) that Senator Saraki be made to face justice on alleged crimes against Kwara people and depositors of the defunct Societe Generale Bank. Unfortunately, the APC shouted that he was a change agent and brought him to the Senate. In a twist of event, the same APC started shouting that he was unfit to be elected into the highest office in the National Assembly even after bringing him to the Senate. Some of us threw our weight behind Saraki's bid not because we sincerely wanted him but because we had to send a message to the APC and others that "you can't anoint a person of questionable integrity as a Catholic cardinal when it favors you and turn around to say the person is unfit to be the pope because it doesn't favor you" (sincere apologies to the catholics).

Since his exit from the seat of power in Kwara state there has been shocking revelations detailing Senator Saraki's role in the alleged looting of Kwara state treasury coupled with the police report that detailed his alleged role in the looting of Societe Generale Bank along with some members of his family; his father the late Sola Saraki and sister Gbemisola were indicted. The alleged actions of Saraki and his cohorts led to the collapse of SGB, of which lots of innocent and hardworking Nigerians lost their means of livelihood.

When the report of his alleged false declaration of asset before the Code of Conduct Bureau(CCB) came to the limelight, my position was that he should be prosecuted before the Code of Conduct Tribunal(CCT). When it was reported that the CCB was to kick start his prosecution today (18/09/2015), I so welcomed it. I believe that irrespective of political affiliation we must support the fight against corruption as long as it follows proper channel. Nigerians of good conscience must back this move by the federal government through CCB.

The "social media" defence that Saraki tried to put up by whipping political sentiment is lame. Neither Facebook, Twitter, Nairaland nor any mainstream media is a court of law. Saraki should explain himself to the Judge instead. The argument by some of his supporters that it was a 2003 offence is also lame. Criminal offence has no expiry date as long as it hasn't been cleared by a court of competent jurisdiction.

It is on record that Saraki is not the first former Governor to be tried by CCB. Ex-Lagos state Governor Bola Tinubu was also tried by CCB on allegation of operating foreign account while he was governor of Lagos state. A charge that he was acquitted of in 2012. Saraki is also not the first senate president to be tried. A former senate president Adolphus Wabara was arrested and tried along with 4 other Senators and 3 Representatives on allegation of receiving N50million bribe from then education minister Fabian Osuji in April 2005. He resigned and faced his crime, but was acquitted in 2010 on technical ground. Saraki is not the first Senator either.

I believe that moral and social justice demand that Nigerians of good conscience support the move of CCB on behalf of the Kwara people and all victims of his alleged loot. Not just for only Saraki but to all those that have cases to answer. The federal government of Nigeria has done well in this regard.

May God Bless Us All
1 million likes. By the way we shall see if he will be prosecuted. I doubt it but we are watching Buhari and his cohorts. They should better do the right thing. Prosecute every prosecutables
