PL-9C missile speed is officially mach 3.5 about 4,300 km/h confirmed by manufacturer from China

http://www.catic.cn/indexPortal/home/index.do?cmd=goToChannel&cid=746&columnid=1914&cpid=1653&dataid=4297&columnType=102&likeType=view&ckw=ATAM#

It is also a multi-purpose missile with anti-jamming capability, and has effective range 22 km.

PL-9C speed is about double that of the freaking weakling Umkhonto tongue tongue
.
Chinese have reputation of falsifying the specs of their weapons for market purposes. However, the range now is no longer 25km as you previously claimed and falls short of an IRIS-T range.

Yes we do, like project biro choice of OPV is an IF
Who said project Biro is an IF? Project Biro is a reality and is now a government project with its finds approved.

One thing about Chinese is that their Mach is not the same as Mach that we know. Their Nike that they manufacture themselves apart from those designed under licence from Europe is something else. Their adidas is called abibas. That's how those guys are like, not so honest in making business.

I have NEVER said 25 km, I said 22 km effective, 35 km maximum.

China manufacturer has confirmed my claim of speed and effective range.

Lies are told more in South Africa more than anywhere else on earth, you deceived the whole of Nairaland with fake Super Lynx ASW helciopter for 5 years, you are the real liars not China

Your source is a dead sentence or is that a web link ?

A-Darter range is confirmed by South African defenceweb at a mere 19 km only.

" Guided by a heat-seeking homing head, A-Darter also can "see" more of an infrared frequency. Its maximum range is approximately 19 km. "

Short legged missile.

I will rather buy a PL-9C and fly 22 km

Let us stick to what manufacturers are saying and stop adding lies.

The manufacturer is mum about A-Darter speed and range. So, everything else is just speculations.

I said let us stick to what the manufacturers say the same way you want it to be. On the same breath I can quote sources which will dispute CATIC about the PL-9C specs and you won't like it. Let us wait and see what will the manufacturer conclude about the specs of A-Darter.

So defenceweb should be closed down for spreading false information, the manufacturer is silent, where did defecneweb get his data from, he pulled it out of dreamland or it`s the usual South African fraudulent lifestyle?

This isn't the case with all suppliers. Suppliers from the East are generally more trustworthy than suppliers from the U.S and Europe, hence the pivot of many African countries to the East. This is and the fact that many eastern systems are generally easier to maintain.

-Is a T-72B3 or T-90A not cost effective?

-The MI-17 is another cost effective system, same as the MI-24.

- Same as the MI-28N, CH-3A, CH-4, ......... And various other chines Tank destroyers, MRLS, that are popular with African armies.

Cost effective is not cheap.
All suppliers are reliable.

Those MBTs are expensive same as the Mi-28.

Henry120:
The Jordanians are paying $1 million per unit for the 50 units of Mbombe IFV they plan to procure, and this cost include local manufacturing. What this means is, the Mbombe IFV is much lower than the $ 1 million price tag the Jordanians are paying for.

For an African country, $ 1 million dollars per unit is cheap, and if this IFV was developed by an African consortium with parts built in different countries, same as the Eurofighter, cost would be cheaper than the $ 1 million, and orders would be more.
Not many African countries can afford the Mbombe IFV.

Henry120:
-That's the sort of system i want developed. A proper heavily armoured Infantry Fighting Vehicle.

- I specifically mentioned that I'd want the IFV to carry a dual 30mm or 25mm as main armament. The vehicle should also be able to fire ATGMs. Only the BMPT best describes the sort of system i want.
I believe to cut costs it'll be less competitive vehicle.

It seems the point is flying over your head. Do all European countries fly the Eurofighter?

At 1 million a unit, the Mbombe if it was a joint African Project would have an order for at-least 1000 units.

How would a vehicle be less effective if costs are cut?

Is the Eurofighter a less effective bird seeing that costs are cut?

4 days is not a useful naval blockade. After 4 days your submarine will die.

Sweden did not use aircraft to hunt the submarine, the worst enemy of submarines is enemy aircraft, they destroy them more than ships can do.
A single day means Nigeria will have no warship!!!

The submarine can simply go outside the operational area to charge its batteries and come back to hunt. Your commanders will be terrified as won't if it is there or no.

Expensive at worth cost, when we want to compare them to European and American MBTs.

How much is the Leo, Leclerc and Abrams when compared to the T-90, Type-99, OPLOT-M or T-72B3?

Fool, your Soweto skull is half empty, you cannot see it says PL-9 has new version called PL-9C with higher performance,

"PL-9 IR-guided missile was first developed in the late 80s based on PL-8/Python-3 technology and is for export only. It has an all-aspect InSb seeker and a radio fuse. Its range is 500m minimum and 16km maximum. Speed is Mach 3.5 and load is 40g. Its forward control fins look similar to those of AIM-9L (double delta). The latest variant of PL-9 is called PL-9C with improved multi-band IR seeker and a new programmable digital processor giving it a greater IRCCM capability and higher killing probability. Its range is also increased to 20km. "

When you declare war, a navy with no ASW ship will withdraw to harbour and start aircraft submarine hunting round the clock surveillance.

No submarine can enter harbour to sink a warship, every sensible navy would have deployed anti-torpedo nets around the harbour entrance.

Run where to snorkel? Angola? What is the area of operation? You run 1,000 km away to Angola, yet you say you are blockading Nigeria?

Where will you hide with snorkel? ATR-42 and Alpha jet have 2,000 km range and that reaches up to Angola.

Your submarine running away out of battle area has voluntarily dismantled the naval blockade. Now I see you afraid of Nigerian waters grin grin
