go joor, our imams are not like your pastors that will be fighting for who will lead prayer because of the small change they will be getting from their congregation,a mosque is not a place for business jare.

IsraeliAIRFORCE: The Governor should apply Solomon's wisdom and handover the church to the other Pastor and not the wolf Pastor that preferred shutting down the Churches.

Sword should not linger in the assembly of God's people.

Here is the cold reason why El Rufai took such a weird deicision.

If you have lived in Kaduna State in the last three to four decades....you would know that there are religious crisis in that state. Sometimes Christians vs Muslims, and sometimes intra-religious.

And yes....Muslims too too sometimes get it from the government....eg Sheikh Zakzakki has had his run ins with both the state and federal government....including getting jailed.

And in 2006...in the wake of a religious crisis in ABU, the university authorities (the VC was a Muslim then) closed the uni, and sacked the headship of the MSS at the school (they blamed them for instigating the crisis)Guy throughout my stay in kaduna.there have never been a time christian cause trouble even the said problem in ABU was being escalated from inside ABU to outside by the moslems. the only question i always myself is that y do the yorruba moslem not always cause trouble like the hausa moslem. It is very rare for Christians to kill one another no matter how angry they may be.

Of course...Christians too have had their share of crisis.

But in this case...this is a crisis that was clearly getting out of hand, it was threatening to erupt , and despite the Supreme Court looking at the case...both sides were gearing for war.

Would it have been nice for El Rufai to sit back, and let things be.....only to get blamed for any carnage resulting from the crisis?

The painful thing about leadership in Nigeria is that whenever a decision is made...you Nigerians read religion and tribe into it. That is how we got GEJ is marginalising northerners, and now...Buhari is marginalising Southerners....and meanwhile....we fight over things that are of no consequence.

One more thing.....Kaduna State does not just close down churches like that.(And yes...there is some anti-Christian bias) For El Rufai to close the church shows that something serious was afoot.

That's what they don't know. Their online crusade and ranting won't stop me and my family die a muslim nor will it stop people from converting to Islam on daily basis. So I just read, laugh, sometimes hiss and few times reply when I see the comments are so cowardly.

What stops the governor from arresting the warring parties if he feels that they're breaching the peace of the state or community? Is the feuding pastors now bigger than the entire church, the body of Christ?
That will be dictatorial and very wrong.

What will be their offence when charged to court, creating a church faction?

Dont mind dem bro, thats y they live in slavery under their task master(hausas in the north).they do not have a voice of their own, they cant even pactice thier religious rites freely on their own father land!what a mess, the children of kings walking on foot while the sons of slaves(Hagar)riding on Horses !the govr has no right to venture in to the opposite religious matter, WHERE IS HIS ASSISTANT??
EdCure:
Elrufai is an islamist. It will be very silly for any Christian to support this act of persecution.
Northern Christians need a much stronger unity, love and more emphasis on evangelism, without which, hardline islamists like Elrufai, et al will always have reasons and excuses to bring down churches and scuttle their spread.

You don't call strangers to come settle issues for you as custodians of the gospel of Christ. Those guys were big and matured enough to handle their issues and settle amicably but they choose not to. It's rather shameful that they could be so much strife in the church such that an outsider could notice. I don't blame El Rufai for what he did because opportunity presented itself and he grabbed it. Elders of AG should bury their head in shame for allowing worldly desires becloud their responsibilities and love for Christ. Shame on them for not being able to handle their issues and allowing it escalate to the public.

FROM NOAH EBIJE, KADUNA

However, the two pastors in the eye of the storm opened up, saying that the initial arrangement of breaking church attendance into two sections by the State government to ensure peace should have been allowed to endure, rather than slamming total closure on the church.

In separate telephone interviews with Saturday Sun yesterday, the warring Pastors from Assemblies of God Church in Saminaka, Reverend Simon Jimoh and Reverend Haruna Tutu, said peace would only return to the leadership of the church when the Supreme Court finally delivers judgement on the issue before it.

Also, closed down is Theological Seminary of Northern Nigeria, (TSNN), Shalom Comprehensive College, and Evangelist Hospital, all owned by Assemblies of God Church in Saminaka

When Moses needed a successor, it was the holy spirit that selected!.......

But when these two PASTORS CHARLATANS needed to "sort things out"..... they said it is ONLY the SUPREME COURT that can decide for them! Holy Spirit nor even get mouth inside! grin grin

But we all know "its all about the money.... and that ain't somefin funny"!
undecided undecided

My only pity is for the ignorant and foolish ones who kneel before them and they have a "direct line" to God! shocked shocked

I think its time we start taxing these religious organisations and jailing their leaders who abuse their "charity privilege", as done in the Western countries.

Make Ashimolowo go UK go answer his own charges o, he has 'hibernated' enough in Nigeria. wink wink grin

No. Rather the christian leaders who fought themselves to the point that a muslim will intervene should bear the shame.
Are we not supposed be a good example as christians?

I dont know if you noted that part where they said "ONLY the Supreme Court can settle the matter for them"?

I mean, Pastors saying this?
Does it not occur to the two slowpokes that the Judge in that Supreme Court could be a Muslim or even an Atheist who does not believe or share their spiritual inclination?

How then do you put your case before your "accuser"

Let us not blame El Rufai, he could be a closet fundamentalist, but in this case, he was given the job on a platter of Gold
Like a Yoruba proverb says: "If the Wall does not crack and gape open, LIZARDS cannot find ways to enter the crevasse"!

Dont blame the lizard for infesting the Wall, blame the wall for opening-up. SIMPLES.

Good question ...and the honest answer is "NO"!

Why? because the Muslims, in their usual blood-thirsty manner, would wreck havoc and bloodshed al over the state.

But that is the difference between Christianity and Islam: One preaches "Forgiveness" while the other preaches "Murder"!
undecided undecided undecided

Having said that, we must ask: How many times have we seen two Muslim clerics fighting over (money?) and saying Supreme Court is the ONLY arbiter in the matter?

If you cant manage your problems internally, (out of GREED), a nonentity stranger will have to do it for you and too bad he could be the tyoe that hates your guts!

Nigerian christians, particularly the ones up north are so confused and gullible. They just provided a perfect opportunity for the midget governor to exercise his devilish agenda on them. I expect to hear more of this in the coming times. Nonsence.

The Governor has NO business with the internal wrangling of the Church that is even before the Supreme Court. All he needed was to put security in check and arrest any troublemaker for breach of public peace. What he did amount to infringement. As for Kaduna CAN, it is a BIG shame that they don't understand what is at stake. A more Bigger shame to the two warring businessmen called Pastors
