Based on the input of the Cross River National Park, the road has since been re-routed with the alignment now several kilometers away from the Park.

You have to read in-between the lines to know that PMB and his handlers used technicality to decline or Cross Rivers state government was looking for a hurried attempt to lure PMB to cross rivers for some ulterior motives. Which ever, I believe the whole truth was never captured in that article.

Read this philosophically and you find contradictions on the side of the two parties involved. Naija sha.

Anyway I belive adequate EIA should be done because as much as we need the roads, we also need to protect our wide life.

I just want to believe that after the EIA is done, the road will be well routed and constructed

But Ita stated that the proposed road would not traverse the Cross River National Park, as the superhighway would be several kilometres away from the national park.

It means they are now carrying out the EIA..
So all we have to do is wait until they finish

And maybe the due to the input of the National Park the road alignment was re-routed but does that cover the damage that can be done during the construction phase of the project?
How do we know they won't drop their residue in our waters to harm our fish?
How do we know the fumes produced while preparing and pouring asphalt won't affect our primates?
That why the Environmental Impact Assessment is needed..the road may have been re-routed buy it could still do considerable damage to wildlife
