gentlelarry:oponu afofungbemu just like his poverty-stricken dad, I know it's difficult for you to use your brain because you don't have a functioning one. I guess Saraki's lawyer is in court to represent himself. I don't expect failures like you to understand that though. |

koonbey:In this case, he premise on saying that was on the constitution of the tribinal. In his own wordings, "the tribunal is not properly constituted ". Which is wrong and derogatory. That is contempt. |

SeverusSnape:Prof I get your point but that does not negate the fact that he is a thief.Personally I see saraki getting out of this but he should respect himself and appear in court. As for the political thieves they will soon be caught |
| Re: Saraki's CCB Trial Live On Channels TV by Nobody: 1:36pm On Sep 21, 2015 |
dustmalik:It is not contempt. In fact, it is not disrespectful at all. Let me give you an example; if 4 justices of the Supreme Court sit on a case, a lawyer would be well within his rights to tell them that the court, as presently constituted, is incompetent to adjudicate on the matter, because the Law prescribes a minimum of 5 justices. |
| Re: Saraki's CCB Trial Live On Channels TV by lacidi: 1:37pm On Sep 21, 2015 |
dustmalik:It is standard legal practice for a lawyer to challenge the jusridiction of a court and the judge is obliged to address that and rule on the issue of jurisdiction before proceeding with the case. There is nothing contemptious about that. i will advise that people who are not in the legal profession should desist from making unfounded statements on issues they know nothing about. |

joseph1832: joseph1832:Ask the dumbass judge if he understands the fact that the CCB panel is not properly constituted and so is sitting incompetently. Where is the 3rd member of the panel. Also doesn't he understand simple English, there is still a case being held at the appeal court that will invariably decide the outcome of his kangaroo trial. Maybe this is way above your IQ, ask a learned individual to explain all that I just said |

I think the issue for a lot of people is that WE ALL KNOW THE TRUTH. 1: We know that Saraki is corrupt, as ARE MANY OTHER MEMBERS OF BOTH PDP AND ACP. 2: Saraki's corruption did not deter ACP from accepting him as a member. Indeed NOT A SINGLE PDP MEMBER WAS BARRED FROM JOINING APC, YET APC CLAIMED TO BE THE PARTY OF CHANGE. 3: We all know that Saraki is being hunted now due to the way he became Senate President. Basically I don't give a dam about Saraki. If he's convicted and rots in Prison, for me that's one less crook to loot our funds However let's not call this part of the 'War on corruption' please. We all know this is just politics. |

TonyeBarcanista:Please how does removing the Senate President or at worst jailing him bring back the Societe General Bank fund or reduce the influence of Saraki in Kwara politics? I know you don't live in Kwara, I lived in Kwara for over thirty years, so I know how the politics of that State roll. Have you read how the Emir of Ilorin has been going round for Saraki? Some of you will be surprise because nothing will come out of this case. You can take that to the bank. |

muh4lyf:That's the reason smarter and more experienced elders said 'Nigeria's fundamental problems must be fixed first' before electing a dullard as president in the guise of a phantom anti-corrupt (unproven integrity) posture. But you guys said the elders are senile, you said it's a 'leadership' problem, you brought in a most bigoted Islamic Sharia preaching certificateless herdsman to 'clean the augean stable'. Does it look like the dullard is ready to prove you right now, by declaring an unknown plot of land as an asset and thereafter accusing his political opponent of 'anticipatory declaration'? |

Who would fight corruption and people will not call it witch hunting? This fight must start from somewhere and somehow......if sariki doesn't appear and clear himself then we as a nation has failed. Our collective mandate should compel him to defend himself before any court. This is more than APC or PDP but the integrity of Nigeria as a whole......... Any Nigeria that is right thinking will join hand and ask our SP to go and clear his name and stop hiding under the loop hole of the judiciary........Nigeria is bigger than any one so the law of Nigeria should cover all. |
