Actually, she beat these women:
Christine Baranski - The Good Wife
Emilia Clarke - Game of Thrones
Joanne Froggatt - Downton Abbey
Lena Headey - Game of Thrones
Christina Hendricks - Mad Men

She was nominated for best supporting actress in drama, not the lead actress. The one that won that particular award was Viola Davis. In fact Kerry wasn't nominated at all.
That kerry that is always doing mouth as if she has too many teeth in her mouth? abeg make she park well biko meanwhile her husband sef na omo Igbo o some Nnamdi asomugha

@vorigan aka OP...

Why mislead people with your wrong topic? Which one is "Buruji" Drama title?

She won the emmy awards for an America Drama Series called "Orange is the new Black" and not "Buruji"...if you don't know the details of a story, please don't post it or rather, do a proper research!

Uzo Aduba's winning streak is not over.

The Orange Is the New Black star had a strong year last year, bringing home a number of awards for her role as "Crazy Eyes" on the hit Netflix series, and it looks like this year may be her year, too.

Aduba won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama (this is the first year the show switched to drama from comedy), her second consecutive Emmy win, and she didn't even try to hold back the tears.

So, yeah, we were getting a little teary-eyed, too.

"I really just want to say thank you a thousand times. If I could say thank you a thousand times, it would not be enough to cover the amount of thanks I feel for you, Jenji Kohan. I love you so much," Aduba began.

"I thank you for putting belief back in my heart. Thanks for making the show, creating the platform. Thank you to our family at Netflix and Lionsgate. You are incredible. I love you so much for your kindness."

After a list of more thank-yous, the actress concluded with, "I love you guys and I'm so thankful to stand beside a set of artists who are so brilliant. I want to say thank you to our team, my team that I work with...you guys are incredible and I love you mostly because you let me be me.

"And finally, I really just want to say thank you to my family who have stood beside me my entire life. My sister, Chi Chi, you are my very best friend. I am humbled to call myself your sister. I love you so much. Thank you to the academy. Thank you to our fellow actors. Just thank you very much. God bless you."

Mr. Man, learn to do your research well! It is a drama series aired on American Television which the Actress acted! I personally have watched the Season 1 and 2. You better Google "Orange is the New Black TV Series" and "Uzor Aduba" on Wikipedia and don't try to argue with me in order not to embarass yourself further!

IGBO again. My great people.

Lols.

Some people will not move this to front page.

Well, deal with it. We can't help putting you guys where you belong.
Questions:

Did being Igbo made her win the award?
What has her tribe got to do with thishuh

I think we should be celebrating the Black culture & quit this tribal craze of a thing.
At the end of the day, we are all one race, forget the "labeling", we are Africans.

I am looking at my timeline and people are so proud for ‪#‎ViolaDavis‬ ‪#‎UzoAduba‬ and ‪#‎ReginaKing‬ for winning Emmy's. I am not trying to hate this is good, they worked hard and deserve their acknowledgement but why do we always gain pride when we win awards by Europeans? We cannot be proud of ourselves for our own history or contributions to world history?
I see people say they are "inspired" "joyous" "happy" for this and people are saying ‪#‎blackgirlsrock‬ or I am proud to be black. So we can only be proud when other people give us validation? This goes to show how powerless we really are because we cannot be proud on our own. This isn't just for the Emmy's this is for the Oscar's Grammy's and other awards shows. I mean do white people come to BET or Nigerian entertainment awards and seek validations from Global Africans?
If you study the history of African/Black women such as Queen Hatshepstut, Queen Amine, Queen Idia, Yaa Asantewaa, Harriet Tubman, Madame CJ Walker, Mama Toya, Queen Nanny of the Maroons, Angela Davis, and other great women in Global African history, then we would not care about these awards.
When I read African history like Benin, Mali, Songhai, Nubia, Ancient Egypt (Kemet) Monomotopia, Luba, and other great African empires I am inspired. When I hear of the history of Africans in the diaspora such as African-Americans, Caribbeans, Afro-Brazilians, Africans in Europe, India and China I am inspired. We need to stop having Stockholm Syndrome. If you read your great history you won't need to be validated by other people because you will be proud of yourself.
