RexTramadol1:Where we the ones that asked Buhari to make such promise knowing fully well that no country has easily defeated terrorism? During the past administration, Buhari even showed he was sympathetic to them by criticizing GEJ and the army. In turn BH chose him to be their spokesperson. So why are we trying hard to cover incompetence? Is it so that the world will not know you all made foolish and tribalistic decisions? ![]() |

Femi's piece absolutely reflects his pre-2015 election bias and pardon me to say personal dislike for PMB. The write-up seems driven by glaring unprofessional intents and Femi's ethno-religious bias least expected of a self-acclaimed pastor. Having a dissenting view is healthy for our democracy. However, it should be done with every sense of decorum. Anybody can claim to be a public affairs analyst, a columnist, or commentator and is liable to his opinion. Even when a pick-pocket meets a saint he sees only his pocket. I rest my case. |

Some people are still not objective in their thinking let me brief you a bit. Firstly, on the issue of Osinbajo, there is no evidence that proved the allegation of him not attending security council meetings. A dictator is someone who rules without the rule of law or not in accordance with the constitution, Buhari rule within the jurisdiction of the constitution, so calling him a dictator is like the word coming from a drunkard. On the issue of the Naira, under which era did the Naira drop the most, What was the value of the Naira as @ may 29, what is the value now? Ask urself before u allow tribal sentiment to cloud ur judgment. About stolen achievement concerning, firstly while is it that the refineries and the power did not function properly during the 5years reign of GEJ? why the sudden improvement of the power sector? While suddenly the refineries start to work, why suddenly did electricity commission mandate it that everybody must have prepaid meters to avoid the principle direct billing n exploitation of Nigerians, why suddenly kerosene is sold @ 50 Naira, why the sudden increase in electricity? The simple answer is that nothing is practically wrong with the refineries nd the power sector, some elements sabotage them to enable them loot the resources under the pretense of spending money to put them in working conditions. The reasons why all start to function is the reputation of Buhari as a no nonsense man, so they quickly fixed the problem so as not to be probe. On the issue of Boko haram, it takes years with the use of technology advancement and education of the people before terrorism can be fully rooted out. Do u want to compare how boko haram fighters invaded barracks, while our soldiers flee like little boys @ the sight of Boko haram fighter under the past administration. Now the boko haram can only fight Gorilla warfare( hit n run) n suicide bombs because they can't face the army with frontal assault. in summary, if Buhari's reputation can bring certain level of changes within 3 months, am sure Nigeria will be far better in 3 years time. Thanks. |

To the PMB Supporters There is nothing wrong at all in defending Buhari. Many of you have absolute faith and belief that he will improve this country. However I think you guys should learn to accept when there are legitimate grounds for criticism. As I've said in the past one the reasons GEJ failed is that he started to see all well meaning advice as an attack and in the end only listened to a small circle of people, many of whom had their own selfish agendas. Of course Femi Aribisala is biased, we all know that, but that should not take away from the fact that he's making some valid points. Have you guys not read the minutes of the last CBN Policy committee meeting? Nigeria is at risk of a serve economic slowdown. It is simply WRONG, that over 100 days after in office We don't have an economic team in place. Please recall that GEJ did not contest the election result so in fact Buhari has had approx 6 months since the election to have done this. Come on people, that is just not good enough. At this rate with some Senators away on Hajj there is no way new ministers will be confirmed before end of October at the soonest. PMB's comments about minsters being noise makers, it's clear he wants to run things by himself with the civil servants. That is a recpie for absolute disaster, as civil servants are policy implemtors not policy formulators. If you are a Buhari supporter you need to be concerned about these things as ultimatly they will be factors that determine if his govt will be a success or not. |

Important points to note: On August 30th, 2015, the vice president was again publicly embarrassed when armed men shut down the Aso Rock Chapel, preventing him from worshipping there. In the middle of a national economic crisis, the president has been comatose. He made himself the Sole Administrator of Nigeria; a role not envisaged by the Constitution. These 100 days, Buhari has been the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Petroleum, as well as the Attorney-General. He has been the Minister of Education, even though we are yet to see his school-leaving certificate. He alone has been the minister in all the ministries of the federal government Contrary to his highfalutin campaign promises, he has not stabilised the international price of oil. Instead, it has fallen drastically from $60 to $40. Buhari has not made the naira equal to the dollar. As a matter of fact, it has depreciated considerably under his short watch. He has not used his vaunted military experience to defeat Boko Haram. On the contrary, the insurgency has become far more deadly, with over 1,000 innocent Nigerians killed within just three months. With the election over, he quickly backtracked on Chibok, saying: “We do not know if the Chibok girls can be rescued.” In my years as a public policy analyst, I have never seen a government anywhere spend its vital first 100 days doing absolutely nothing like this one. In defence of the president’s ineptitude, Lai Mohammed said in a recent interview that: “Buhari never promised he was going to do anything in 100 days, that’s the honest truth.” This admission by the mouthpiece of the APC confirms conclusively that President Buhari has wasted 100 days of Nigerian lives. Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) Chairman, Sam Amadi, stressed that the recent improvements in power supply are the result of the efforts made by the Jonathan administration. That should put paid to bogus attempts to attribute them to the effects of Buhari’s “body language.” Neither does “body language” bring about a turnaround maintenance of our refineries. The credit for this goes to “clueless” Jonathan, and not to “Baba Go-Slow.” Buhari claims he inherited an empty treasury. Nevertheless, he found over $30 billion in our foreign reserves. The truth of the matter is that any anti-corruption probe is likely to open up a can of worms. Buhari is surrounded by corrupt politicians. Indeed, the APC is so corrupt, the president has not been able to find 36 “clean” ministers among his colleagues in over 100 days. That is some kind of a negative record. After claiming he did not have the 27.5 million naira required for the APC presidential nomination papers and had to borrow it, Buhari now claims he has 30 million naira sitting pretty in his bank account. How does he account for this discrepancy? Some of us are also wondering where he got all the money used to finance his expensive election campaign. Fighting corruption on the pages of newspapers cannot surely be the only preoccupation of a government. One trenchant observer said: “Probing is not governance neither is body language a substitute for economic policy.” Northern agenda With 100 days in office, Buhari’s ethnic chauvinism is no longer hidden. We have now discovered that what he meant to say on his inauguration is: “I belong to every Northerner, and I belong to no Southerner.” The president went on official trip to the U.S. without an economic agenda, but with 29 Northerners and only four Southerners. While there, he declared that: “The constituents (that) gave me 97 percent cannot in all honesty be treated on some issues with constituencies that gave me five percent.” We now understand his thinking. Fulani herdsmen continue to kill innocent farmers while Buhari sees no evil and hears no evil; after all, he called them “my people” to Lam Adesina of Oyo State. Of the 32 critical appointments he has made so far, 27 are from his native North and only five from the South. Not a single appointment from the South-East. When queried about this blatant discrepancy, Femi Adesina from the South, and not Garba Shehu from the North, was craftily trotted out. Tongue-in-cheek, we are told the appointments were made strictly on merit. But since when did the North acquire a monopoly of merit in Nigeria? How can the region with regularly low cut-off JAMB scores suddenly become the citadel of the most meritorious public servants in the country?. BTW Why is saraki in the public eye when somebody spent 78milion of state money on personal website? |

efilefun:Honestly, i am confused about this administration. We all must learn how to approach issues that concern government with unbiased minds if want this country to be good. How can you justify the fact that pmb has not yet appointed his cabinet since he assumed office. Can you convince me that the hardship we encounter in our economy is not the resultant effect of pmb's ability to run the government without ministers. The earlier u learn to face issues with unbiased mind the better for this country. |
