LAGOS—THE office of the National Security Adviser, NSA, has issued a security alert on the likelihood ofBoko Haramattack on Lagos seaports.
The alert was as a result of the concern expressed by the United States Embassy on the security situation at the nation’s seaports.
The security alert was signed by Assistant Comptroller General of Customs in charge of Enforcement and Intelligence, Mr. Dan Ugo, on behalf of the Comptroller General, Col. Hameed Ali (retd).

Following the security alert, the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has begun the restriction of persons into its various commands and formations in Lagos.

The development has brought about an increase in the level of security checks at all access points into the ports.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Port Facility Security Officer Forum has also warned its members to increase surveillance on their facilities and reduce the number of people into their premises.

Since last week, a long queue of clearing agents had resurfaced at the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, gate where thorough checks were conducted before access is granted.

Speaking toVanguardon the development, Vice Chairman of the Port Facility Security Officers Forum, Dr. Zeb Ikokide, said that articulated vehicles should not be accompanied by their ‘motor boys’.

Ikokide also warned Customs to stop delaying cargoes at the gates, adding that all documentations regarding cargo clearance must be concluded before the goods get to the exit gate.

On the part of terminal operators, the security expert said that all terminal operators must ensure that their dock workers are transported to and fro their terminals.

Speaking in a similar vein, President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, Alhaji Olayiwola Shittu, called on Nigerians to be security conscious and cooperate with security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and properties at the ports.

There will be no complete victory over this terrorist because the end is near. President Buhari is not the solution to ending Boko Haram.
God says in His word that we should not trust in princes but only in Him. (psalm 118 v 8 ).
The only solution to this terrorism is only for the individual who wishes to be safe to Run to J.E.S.U.S because J.E.S.U.S is the Rock of protection, Jesus will shield you, Jesus will deliver you and no evil shall befall on you and your family and in your State.

So , someone says attack is possible and the security port beefs security up ?

Was there no security initially ? Seaports should have more security at once than any other place in the world , what's the navy and customs and immigration been doing , sleeping ?

If there is any attack in Southern Nigerian, i wont be surprised cause 1. We have the chief terrorist as the President and commander of the Federal Republic of Nigerian. 2. His kinsman is the DG of DSS. 3. He freed Boko haram members and rewarded them with money and clothes. 4. He removed military check points to facilitate their easy movement down south. Lord deliver us from the zoo called Nigeria

This is a good preventive measure. Intelligence gathering is fundamental to crime prevention and control. An attack in any of the sea terminals will pose a devastating loss to this country.
God help us all
