That's not true, in as much as I believe that pipeline vandalism has significantly reduced, I think the improved electricity is due to the improved gas supply modalities put in place by the NNPC wish has ensured that the power plant gets constant fuel by this new regime. And besides the power sector, so many agencies of government are have naturally fall in line.
Can you tell us those modalities!!

I challenge you to be specific and factual! Am also happy to note your acknowledgement of the "significant reduction" in gas vandalism.

‘Buhari’s directive led to improved power supply’

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power, Dr. Godknows Igali, has said the steady increase in power supply in the  country was due to  President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive to actors in the power sector to redouble their efforts.
He said the president charged them to leave no stone unturned in ensuring uninterrupted power supply to Nigerians during his tenure.
Igali spoke in Abuja during the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two indigenous investors in the power sector – Messrs. New Horizons Energy Resources and Quaint Global Energy Solutions.
The two firms are  interested in renewable projects, especially solar, biomass and thermal plants respectively.
Igali said the recent increase in power supply is not as a result of rain, as being speculated in some quarters, as marginal improvement from our hydro cannot be responsible for this fact, but it is as a result of increase in gas supply to the thermal plants, adding that our Anti-Vandalism Campaign is also yielding positive results.
In a statement endorsed by the  Ministry’s Deputy Director (Press), Timothy Oyedeji yesterday, Igali said to sustain this trend, the present administration is determined to look in the direction of renewables, hence more emphasis will be placed on solar energy source.
He reasoned that with clusters of solar plants built across the country, technical losses occasioned by hauling of energy over long distances will be reduced because the renewable source can be deplored effectively.  Captive power in embedded manner will also be available to distribution companies (DISCOs) at the distribution levels.
He commended the companies for working with the  Federal Government in the development of mini power generation and micro grid, stressing that these efforts will translate to power stability and reliability.
Igali said the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is working on the critical corridors that would enhance the nation’s transmission capacity, enough to evacuate all energy to be produced that more gas will be available to the thermal plants.
An official of  Quaint Global Energy Solutions, Seun Solesi, told the Permanent Secretary that his company is to enjoy a grant of $1.3 million from the Obama Power Africa Initiative’s United States Trade Development Agency to carry out feasibility studies for its 50megawatts (Mw) solar-powered plant in Machiok, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.  He said with  foreign partners, the project will start in earnest on 150 hectares of land approved by Governor Nasir el-Rufai.
The representative of New Horizons said when the project come upstream, Nigerians will be recruited and trained in the U.S, while materials for building the plant would be sourced locally.
He said the plan of the company is to build 100Mw solar power plant in Nasarawa State, 300 – 400Mw of biomass in Cross River and 300Mw of thermal in Rivers State.

Guy you are just not serious! "Directive to redouble their efforts" is that a modality??....

"Anti vandalism campaign now yielding fruit"....Did that start in May 29th??
http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/nigeria-lost-3-800mw-of-electricity-to-vandalism-in-60-days-says-nebo/202003/

Please quit propaganda and stop making a fool of yourself. It is crystal clear that Buhari has no input in the current power stability!

Still waiting for "the modalities you promised".

we've witnessed high level of corruption and wastage, in the past few years. I don't know how but I know within 30 days my generator have stopped working talk less of the huge amount of money this sector has gulped in the past 16Years in the range of 16 billion dollars. when we were in school, we were taught about efficiency I.e saving for the rainy days. I know that Nigeria made huge proceeds from oil in d last few years but what do we have nothing. Do you know that American military have decided to help nigerian government on arms, which they refused to do before due to issues of corruption and compromise. Aside that , America wants to start importing crude from us once more. In addition, having ministers in itself is nothing, but having strong institution is everything and I believe taking your time and not fast in settling inside a rotten system makes all the difference. and about 2.2 billion you mentioned, I don't know how you arrived at those figures, perhaps it's the figment of your imagination. Anyway, we are happy that stealing is now corruption .
America is never a friend , corruption , corruption is just a propaganda by the so call fxxking America , just because the past government did not agree with gay right...let's watch and see how the help will come for free, like what they did in mali to help France they provided logistical support and in libya too for selfish interest, America is corrupt too , even in vatican rome, tell me where is corruption free,

If America join the war on boko , that means it going to be war without end , because the enemy of america are looking for a platform and grand to fight America....that means the only last hope of black nation is over......example of what is going on in middle east.

you've heard it from the horses mouth but you still doubt it .I don't know who else can say it better than the perm. sec. You know your problem it is your lack of objectivity. I stated that ofcourse there is reduction in vandalism, and that it is continuous process but the assertion that it is the sole effort of the previous administration gave us these progress is misplace. besides this is a young administration. it will do you a lot of good if you can have correct evaluation of issues. moreover, they had 5 years to come up with a plan, or is it the present regime that was blowing up the pipeline. I'm will not be surprised if you could proclaim that. it's not more than what your mind could think.

I really am neutral in all this. Nigeria is a failed state be say Nigeria is a failed state.
But I can't help but notice a steady decline in the number over likes the pro-APC comments have been getting over the months. A pro-APC comment back in February would get almost 500 likes. Nowadays 25 na thanksgiving. I'm not really curious to know why though. Like I said, neutral. undecided
What are you doing here?

Don't know about you but I recall that the previous administration has spent over 16 billion dollars on trying to give us steady supply of electricity. I don't know how manage we now experience steady supply. Aside that when you enter office, dp you just sit and start working knowing fully well how rotten things have been. therefore planning takes . it might be long and turtous but is well worth at the end of the day.
That rebuilding process can't be done by one person alone. Economically what can we point out as an achievement,i am yet to see anything...

These write up is not objective. You can never compare the ineptitude of oga Jonathan to buharis change mantra. The fact that we are groaning under the biting economic situation suggest the high level of mismanagement that went down the line under Jonathan. Jonathan government is a luxurious government where 600 people serves the president as entourage during foreign trips. Aside that , there is no measure of discipline within the corridors of power , ministers act like gods and are not accountable to anyone. this portend a bad image for a government that wants to be taken seriously. Besides these, the regime is to early to begin to start comparing it with others.
we are groaning under biting economic woes, caused by GEJ but the light we are enjoying is caused by Buharis body movement.......Nigerians are just so gullible and so foo.lish

on the contrary, we are groaning under years of ineptitude and incompetence of a wasteful regime. It's unfortunate that Baba has to come at this time. believe me , it'd have been worse to have Gej at this time.
