High rise residential buildings give it to Anambra state, five years ago around Ogidi building material market was thick bush but now you cannot count the number of high rise buildings there both the finished ones and those under construction.

Look, we can argue this till tomorrow, but it won't change the glaring point here. There's a reason why the SE region is the most densely populated and it's coz of space/land-constraints. That much is an open secret. If your governments in the region don't diligently manage the remaining scarce land in the region, they will have to contend with some serious crises within the next two generations, unless many more migrate. Even when you talk of concentration of multi-storey buidings in Anambra in particular, Onitsha readily comes to mind. But the number of those high-rises in Onitsha city are nothing compared to what obtains all over Lagos state in general when you consider all those jakande and the countless housing projects that litter the state, you can't even compare pls. Perhaps you've not been around much of Lag hence why you're talking like this. I am not disputing that generally you all have more multi-storey residential buidings than probably most other parts of the country, the point here is the WHY, and the reason is obvious to any objective mind. It's a no-brainer really, and there's no point arguing.
Mr Man why not talk about how spacious Ibadan is with her landmass, you have landmass but still live like Bushrats inside mud holes

Lagos is filled with bungalow and duplexes, with face-me-i-face-you yoruba styled buildings with one toilet and bathroom at backyard for 150 tenants grin grin grin grin grin

First of all is that you need to know the population of Lagos before you start making out the number of Igbos. Lagos is not upto 8million people in population and Lagos population is migratory.

What people suffer in Lagos is lack of infrastructure per se not necessarily overpopulation.

Yes there are many Igbos outside Igboland but those in Igboland are more,
you are getting it all wrong. Lagos is one of the most populated cities in the world(do your research), and Igbo is the a force to reckon with population wise.

I know that Lagos is highly populated but Lagos is less than 10m people, am not disputing that Lagos is densely populated, Lagos is but the population his excessively exerggerated that's my point

LMAO! Buddah, you no dey tire to dey flash dis your ugly-as-fvck buidlings? cheesy Westerners have way too much land to focus on congested high-rises not fit for human habitation. cheesy We don't even have to demolish our 100year old buildings coz we got more than enough land to create new estates and layouts for our teeming populations. You all will have to start demolishing your one-story and bungalows soon to accomodate unasef with even more 'high-rises' grin. Ogun and Oyo are busy building ultra-modern estates and high-rises while una dey pack unasef like sardines in your 'high-rises'. grin grin grin While you all keep building your 'high-rises', we are moving on with these since land brekete (Ogun and Oyo): grin

There are undeveloped land in SE than developed areas, from Awka to Enugu is almost an hour of forests and rivers with tiny villages but there is no city in Igboland that will take you 30 mins to run pass from begining to end.

There are more undeveloped land in East than developed places, so stop talking bullshiit, South West is barren, their saving grace is Lagos the rest is mud and dirty decayed zincs lose from houses in the East. cry

Land is more expensive in East than West but Easterners build more houses and modern architectures than Westerners, there more markets for building materials in East than West.

Your landmass is big for nothing
There is this bile and anger that seems to come from you guys whenever you hear SW/Yoruba. I don't understand it at all.

And must everything be a competitive comparison with the SW? I thought the topic was open for general discussion and made reference to different parts of the country, but you seem to have a fixation on the SW.

Even the bible says "those that compare themselves to themselves are not wise".

When u talk so proudly about the SE which is not so different from the rest of the country in terms of infrastructural devpt, what would one expect from the Europeans, Americans and the Arabs from UAE. Lol

The way u guys talk typifiies the saying that "empty barrels makes the most noise".

If the SE is so so developed more than other parts of the country as ur little mind is wont to believe, then how come there is no substantial migration of people from other parts of the country to the SE?

The world over, people tend to migrate substantially to the more developed areas. But if going by your warped thinking, the Nigerian SE is an exception to this. Maybe u can give me a reason why people are not migrating to the wonders the SE represents but the opposite is the case.

You nailed it! grin To some of these people, development is synonymous with building an empty Christmas mansion in the village, at places with little to no economic value or activity. That's why in spite of all these they still have to migrate to earn a living in areas they stupidly consider 'lesser' developed. Isn't that ironic? ? cheesy
Re: 5 States With Highest Number Of 4 Story And Above Buildings. by chino11(m):
I do not want to be part of this silly argument. But to say that Igbos migrate to the SW is a no no. Igbos only go to Lagos! Simple!

SW includes- Oyo, Ogun, Osun etc, and Igbos in those areas are not more than 100 and they are treated as white expatriates in those hinterland areas.

Guy, did you just say expatriates? ? Lol. Even in Lagos, una be majorly traders and okada riders and live in the ghetto parts of the city, a la Aj city, oshodi, mushin, ojo, festac, etc. Newsflash: most igbos that live outside igboland are predominantly traders, and traders by nature are not very picky about where they go to, as long as they see opportunities to sell their merchandise. No states in Nigeria that you will not see yeboo in hundred thousands even in dried Gombe and Taraba.... Nothing in eastern part comparing to other part of Nigeria...

Forget the hype. Truth is, there's more money to be made OUTSIDE igboland than within it, and since the average Yee.bo can smell money from miles away, he has to leave his region. In fact, majority of their wealthy men did not make their money in igboland: #FACT. Unless you are a trader at Aba or Onitsha, na hunger go kill you for SE.
