Here's why... When all such illegal perks are eliminated from these positions, we'd see that the lobby for such postings would reduce drastically, if not tatally eliminated, and all those who desire to get there would be those interested in actually working and not simply making money.

Gradually, silently, the much desired bloodless revolution in here.

May God continue to strengthen and bless this president for all well meaning citizens of this country.

That's nonsense now! How much in question sef? Just N50,000, N25,000. These guys have families and people that depend on them. What is N50,000 compared to the wardrobe, newspaper, travelling, and medical allowances collected by the presidency. If a salary of N25,000 is illegal, I wonder how wardrobe allowance shouldn't be.

You don't need a rocket science to know that the man Nigeria and Nigerians need most in this critical period of our economic and political history is President Muhammadu Buhari.

They threw all the dirt at him, predicted his death, dragged his family affairs to the fore, took him to court, persecuted his followers, refused his plane from landing, went to Cambridge to confirm his GCE status, arranged protest at the charltam house and even shifted the date of election, yet we were not deterred because in him we saw a leader that will take us to a just, generous and egalitarian society.
Exactly my pyratical conviction that led me to support and vote for PMB. We must attain a just, egalitarian society. Let wailers wail, we are in safe hands.

Allowance that is paid across board in governor lodge, even in local government chairman lodge, you think stoping that of Aso Rock will make you a saint.
You can't stop all exorbitant allowance paid to all the polithiefians, PMB should do the necessary.

Why should they be collecting hazard allowances when their fellows on the street where the crimes are really been committed are not collecting hazard allowance?

Use your brain and think.

Such illegal allowance was signed by gej's administration to embezzle public fund.

We are now aware the allowance is illegal.

Then he should try driving on the streets of Abuja and Kaduna without security details and see what happens.
The amount should have been reduced and not totally scrapped considering the pittance they are paid as salaries and the risk they are exposed to in the job
If they are entitled to special allowance for just opening and closing gates, office and residence doors at the villa, what about men of the police force, nscdc and other agencies who risk their lives everyday on the street?

Most people don't know why organization gives allowance to staff. Sai Baba hailers don't seem to reason that they constantly request for salary increments in their places of work yet will reject same being paid to another. That is hypocrisy!
My advice: Pay allowance to the one who give you security for you never can tell when your enemy will strike

There should be a change of guards if you are going to stop this wages otherwise his life is in danger. How did you think babangida managed to overthrow him 30 years ago. This are people that might have married another extra wife because of this allowance. If you shine 10 million in their eyes forget about it they will release any information about baba.
So please change of guards where by the new once will feel fresh and promoted. If you are going to carry on with the once that served under Jonathan it is very dangerous.

Only in nigeria, will someone get "special allowance" for doing his or her job, that he/she signed up to do...

No to illegal allowance, nice PMB...
you should also advocate for soldiers going on foreign missions not to be paid special allowances. Those fighting in Sambisa should also forego theirs. The Presidency should do away with feeding allowance and others because he should he is paid his salary in full. Okponu!

But speaking on the development, a former Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, endorsed the President’s decision, saying that the security personnel at the Presidential Villa were given “a lot of allowances and giving them extra money is like buying their conscience.”

The retired CP observed that many security operatives on the streets get no extra money apart from their salaries, stressing that the allowances given to Presidential guards was the reason many security officials were struggling to serve at the Aso Villa.

He said, “The security officers on the road get nothing and giving the security personnel at the Villa extra allowance is like buying their conscience. They won’t tell the truth. they would only tell the President what he wants to hear.”

But a former DSS Director, Mike Ejiofor, disagreed, saying the Presidential Villa “is a special beat” which should attract extra stipends for the security men serving there.

mike Ejiofor always supports the old order, where only presidential and guarding digniteries are special bites why guarding the masses is ordinary duty. Until we project every job in this country as special we will never grow as a Nation, what PMB did is good if it can be sustained. A situation where where two officer on the same rank and qualification in the force receives different salary package because one is posted to Aso Rock or Govt House why the other one is posted to a police or Dss post in Afikpo is discouraging and an indictment that the people should be less in priority. Ejiofor you are wrong and Pmb is right

Apparently you don't know how the police works. You do know that police units on special duties receive additional allowances, right?
Yes, There are allowances for these guys that are officially stipulated and paid along side their salaries, this one that is termed "illegal" and stopped is just a "favour" that was done on the part of the Presidency, not a right or entitlement.

Any security operatives that has undergone VIP protection training can be posted to serve in the villa, so any miffed operative can be sent back to base to dust files. grin

Well, commendable? Yes but that's not enough to impress. These are men that are in charge of the security of the President, his family and the seat of power. I think the allowance could be reduced but the stoppage should be reviewed considering that the pay of some of them is nothing to write home about.
you resign that officer guarding the president against threat is not more threatened or important than another officer that is supposed to guard you and me against armed robbers and kidnappers.

The task of being the ones protesting the president should be a thing of pride enough to keep hope alive. Moreover, their salary isn't like those of equal ranks not at the villa. Many lobby their way to the villa and hence brings bribery and corruption. I believe eliminating it will bring to the forefront people that truly want to protect the president. You should ask how much does an army official earn as salary that he is ready to defend the nation till death. Every thing in life is passion!
