Buhari is just playing politics with Obama (seeing as Obama is getting desperate and will accept help from even it's foes).
1)our air force lacks the capabilities
2)we still have boko haram to deal with
3)no Nigerian soldier will even think of dying for those racist Arab Kunts.
Honestly,I laughed when I saw the news. Obama and the west are really getting desperate.
And patches will still come here to claim they are winning.
True.
Our airforce currently does not have the capabilities, neither do we have the military manpower to handle simultaneous wars due to BH disturbance.
However,I disagree that none of our soldiers will "think of dying" for arab racist "kunts"(as you so eloquently put it); yes, arabs are racist, but soldiers are trained to follow orders, not to act on personnal perception. Moreover,Nigeria once engaged in military action in Lebanon,Lebanon is an arab nation.
I think we should wait for confirmation(or denail) of the news.
Nigeria is in no way a US foe.
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by EVarn(m): 12:40am On Sep 30, 2015
Perhaps the US is now ready to put boots on ground in Iraq and lebanon, due to the recent advent of the Ruskies to the middle-east.This would explain their sudden need for new allies in engaging ISIL.
If Nigeria were to join the fight, there would be numerous benefits for our military, especially in terms of funding and equipment.
However,it appears that we are constrained by our own immediate problems, which we must address first before anything else.
We also have to determine our foreign policy towards the middle-east,arabs aren't the most black-friendly people out there.
Sometime I wonder why some Nigerians even bother to clamour for establishment of a palestinian state; these people are undeserving and ungrateful,we donate funds routinely to put food in their mouths and a roof over their heads out of the goodness of our hearts, but what do we get in return?.
Personally,I will advice Buhari to stay out of Iraq and Syria.
If we feel like poking a fight, then we better head for Libya instead.

Nope it's you that's afraid of me. I showed you how Su-30 will defeat F-22 and it shocked you. I educated you about what the OLS - IRST is, you never knew about it, otherwise you would have avoided overrating stealth.

I shot down y.our F-22 Raptor....cry baby cry grin
So the fact that the IRST is forward facing means nothing?

So the fact that the f22 detects first means nothing?

I guess the F22 will totoally not approach from the sides or rear - undetected cool

Lol - run away coward, run away

Most people do not understand why Nigerian army had to behead this Boko Haram fighter :

1. Nigerian troops were forced by circumstances.....

2. The Boko Haram man refused to die from bullet shots.

3. He had juju or spiritual anti-death talisman, black magical powers.

4. The only way to kill him is with a metal blade like a sword or cutlass/machete

5. It's the reason troops all over the world are allowed by UN laws of war to carry Bayonets...long knives

6. Any enemy you cannot kill by bullet you are allowed by UN Geneva convention on war, to kill by Knife

7. What is wrong in killing by sword? In Bible and Quran days when no gun existed, how did soldiers kill?

8. In the olden days you use a sword and behead 100 enemies if you get a chance

9. There is no UN law that says an enemy fighter must be killed strictly by bullets

10. Nigerian army shot the Boko Haram fighter, he did not die, read the first page story from the poster again at the beginning of that other thread https://www.nairaland.com/2627990/military-cuts-off-head-boko/12#38508843, the Boko was a leader, he was said to be STRONG, so strong was his juju black magical powers that bullets failed to kill him, then Nigerian army had to use their UN permited legally allowed combat Bayonet to behead him.

It happens on some rare occasions on our streets in Lagos, OPC or local anti-robbery Vigilante (Even Issakaba anti-robbery vigilante in Igbo land) have caught armed robbers whose leader will be shot by bullets and still remain alive laughing, until the OPC or night guards/local hunters use a machete or cutlass to cut off his head.

Tell the United Nations why Nigerian army did it, Amnesty International does not make laws for war, the UN convention does it, and it allows the use of army mini-swords called Bayonets in battle, the law does not specify which part of the enemy's body you can use Bayonet to cut, just feel free to use it on him any part of his body considered necessary by you to effectively kill your enemy.

Bayonet is often called 'Weapon Of Last Resort' .....that is when Bullets fail in combat'

I dare the United Nations to challenge me on this.

I want to believe President Buhari has his reason for fighting ISIS. He must have a good reason reason to leave Libya, Somalia and others to Syria and Iraq. It must have something that will benefit Nigeria on the long.

I cant believe that any man who self proclaimed himself as military researcher can ever fall for this nonsense. Researchers are scientific on their approach and I wouldnt expect them to ever be swayed by any black magic nonsense. Admit that your military is cannibalistic and barbaric and have only done it to achieve their selfish ends by justifying their cruel action on a purported voodoo powers that a victim is said to posses. Your military knows well that even your best science professors in universities across Nigeria are superstitious and the evidence is written everywhere in your nollywood movies.

Lastly, UN does not govern the rules of war, Geneva convention is. Killing by beheading in war is disallowed. Use of explosive rounds and utilisation of civil services is disallowed. Your military violated rules of using civilian joint task forces in war and extrajudicial killing has always been the order of the day. So, your military needs to be reformed.

In the eyes of the law, a crime is a crime. Stealing $100 is a crime just like stealing $800, they both broke the law.
What a feeble excuse. Americans do not commit crimes of beheadings, such is cruel. Crime is not the same and is categorised according to its gravity. That's why you find people who get more harsher capital punishment than others for the crimes which they have committed.

Undeniably, there will be numerous benefits of being part the ISIL coalition.
But I think that we should secure our own immediate neighbourhood{Libya,Mali,Tunisia} first before moving to the middle-east.
Why dont we form our own pan-african anti-terrorism coalition, bringing together military powerhouses like Nigeria,Algeria,Egypt,Ethiopia, and perhaps Uganda and others to combat terrorism in Africa?,this would be a right step towards forming the ACSF(African Continental Standby Force).
Anyway,President Buhari will have his reasons.

Has anyone ever stopped to think that Boko Haram has less to do with Jihad and more to do with the Hausa-Fulani Faction loosing power to the Ijaw before they felt their term was through (3 years instead of cool and that the decline of Boko Haram has more to do with the fact that a Hausa-Fulani faction leader is in power than anything else?

Especially since you consider that Goodluck was only in office because of militant action.

Explains why religiously moderate Officers in the Army (who are mainly Hausa-Fulani) supporting Boko in the early days?

Heavy shit, but something to think about

Like we always say to you strong-head South-Africans, and most of the illiterates around the world who want to discuss Nigeria, or some of the insurrections within, it is simply not black and white.

Nigeria has always been, and would continue to be complex.

That's wrong information. Nampak remains the largest canmaker on the continent. Standard chartered bank only goes into a joint venture with a south African independent can makers.

Of all documentaries and reports about Nigeria written by some ignorant foreigners, this guy seems to know more.

And like he rightly said, only Nigerians understand Nigeria.

Goodluck could have ended BH but he instead politicized it and waited till election before taking it serious (you also have to consider the fact that we faced sabotage from western powers too because Jonathan refused to play ball regarding some of their colonial policies).

And buhari is just feeding off jonathans last minute successes.

For the sake of enlightenment you should know that previous Fulani governments too faced islamic insurgencies.

1) Maitatsine during buhari regime in the 80s
Lastly, BH is not a Hausa Fulani movement, it's dominated by kanuri.

2) Boko haram uprising during yaradua

Both these leaders were very quick and decisive to end it while Jonathan... Well... You know the rest

Obasanjo didn't have problems because he appeased the group in the north while fighting in the south at the same time. Because it would have been impossible to fight on both fronts because Nigeria was just recovering from sanctions that had crippled the economy and military.

Simply put.. Nigeria is too complex for foreigners to understand.

Killed by beheading isn't? The man was killed in an islamic terrorist execution style. How will the world know if he was guilty and only if his killing has been justified on black magic.

The company is owned by foreigners. How many times must I say that. In Kenya they also allowed some small local investment with small insignificant shares into the standard chartedered company. However in South Africa is a 50/50 venture because South Africans are more clever when it comes to handling foreign businesses.

That company represent only small Nigerian shares into the business. South African company will even own better shares on Southern African based investment and that will be 50%.
