Igbo’ll Produce President In 2019 -APGA by Nobody: 10:03am On Oct 05, 2015
The Deputy National Organising Secretary of the All
Progressive Grand Alliance, Campbell Umeh-Nzekwe, says 2019 presents the best opportunity for the South-East to produce the President.
Umeh-Nzekwe, who is also the leader of APGA in Lagos
State, said this in a message sent to our correspondent on Sunday. The APGA leader said since both the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress had zoned the Presidency to the North, the votes is the North would be divided. He, therefore, said this was the time for APGA to consolidate its hold on the South-East. Umeh-Nzekwe said it was unfortunate that the Igbo only gave bloc votes to politicians from other geopolitical zones but continued to shun their own people. He, however, argued that the Igbo elements in the PDP will wake up from their slumber and join hands with APGA in 2019 to ensure that their kinsman is made President.

He said, “The PDP has zoned its presidency to the North
while the national chairman slot has been zoned to the
South-West. APGA has thus zoned the presidency to the South-East. Hence, the PDP will be buried in the South- East in 2019. “Those Igbo who used the PDP to destabilise the Igbo race will naturally rejoin their brothers and sisters in APGA to work towards the Nigerian presidency.
“Since we helped a Yoruba man, Olusegun Obasanjo, to become President; a Fulani man, Umaru Yar’Adua, to
become President and an Ijaw man, Goodluck Jonathan, to also become President, no self-respecting Igbo man will deny his fellow Igbo the opportunity of becoming the President in 2019.”

Umeh-Nzekwe said APGA could use the structure put in
place by the Igbo dominated Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria to spread its message across
Nigeria and secure the most powerful seat in the country which has eluded the South-East since independence.

Finally, APGA has woken up from their slumber. I hope they are serious this time around.

I trust Obiano to lead the party well.

If igbos want to become president, they should come and discuss it with their masters Yoruba. 2019 is impossible. if they cant, 2019 will pass 3019 will come and go,igbos will not smell presidency. I.e If Jesus never come.

Sure, in cuckooland!

LOL, after they must have abused and insulted everybody in their campaign, yet they will expect everybody must by force vote for their candidate; because it's their turn - of course when the inevitable happens they will find cause to shout marginalisation.

What selfish and political naivety - so they imagine Nigeria will somehow be seduced to voting for APGA in 2019; a party with hardly any significant presence beyond Igboland, lallai somebody is dreaming.

You are absolutely right that "no one will vote for an ibo (sic) candidate". There may be a few trickles from Igbos though but not enough to make any difference to the eventual outcome, which is that as long as Nigeria remains, there will not be an Igbo president. That is the present reality of the Nigerian state.

The power structures have been so skewed to favour a certain people such that it is only they or their pawns that can ascend the seat of power in Nigeria. Jonathan was a mistake, which they made sure to correct on May 29, 2015.

Make no mistake about it. Those from the wrong side of the nation that shout themselves hoarse with the mantra 'change', the sound of which becomes even more hollow with the passing of each day, should not delude themselves that they are any closer to the corridors of power. And i am not talking about the Igbos here. What these people have and mistake for power are sugar coated crumbs from the masters table. It baffles that even the intelligent do not see this but instead exhaust themselves in a perverse d!@k measuring contest about who is more f!@ked up than the other. This would have been funny if it wasn't so serious.

The political elite from the East should stop kidding themselves. The only way to achieve relevance is to face the reality of their circumstances and embrace it by forging a truly 'nationalistic' party the objective of which would be to fight for true regional autonomy. They should not make any pretenses towards gaining power at the centre for they shall never gain such power. The rest of Nigeria have told them that without even bothering to sugar coat it.

Let them fight for regional autonomy politically. Let them then team up with other ethnic nationalities that want regional autonomy and cease from being distracted by a quest for the elusive power at the centre, which only leaves them vulnerable to exploitation by those who now call the shots. That is the reasonable thing to do, if they want to be relevant within the Nigerian contraption, while the rest of us agitates for Biafra.

Well, everyone has an opinion and you obviously are entitled to yours, however it does not make it right. It is on the records that the one set of people who have regularly pushed for regionalism more than any other have been the south west starting from the constitutional conferences such as Clifford, MacPherson etc held prior to independence. Even in the last one held by the Jonathan administration, the position of the Yoruba was very much in line with this old trend. We have never been scared of regionalism and in fact, we actively seek it. I suggest you read about the Dawn commission.http://dawncommission.org/....read this and know that our people irrespective of our political leanings are very clear on where we should be headed... cool cool cool

Which 'opinion' of mine exactly are you refering to?

In my post I made it clear that i actually agree with you. My opinion is that the political elite of the East should focus their energies on agitating for regional autonomy, which they should pursue politically by floating a poltical party that emphasises Eastern National consciousness or even more specifically Igbo nationalism. They should then aim at grabbing power in all the Igbo speaking areas of Nigeria and not apologise to any body about their intentions.

I did not in any way raise any argument that even hints at diminishing whatever the Yoruba poltical class have done in the past. To be frank i care less what other ethnic nationalities occupy themselves with. My focus is on what the Igbo, with emphasis on the political elite, should do going forward instead of cavorting with those who consider them less than equals in a dance only fit for lunatics . . .

Well, if your opinion is on ibo matters...so be it. I have nothing to say about your people and their nasty politics of anywhere belle face. My people's position has always been clear and concise. A mobilisation of all ethnic nationalities within Nigeria should be undertaken so that we can all achieve our goals irrespective.
