Qualification is not a function of age. The President chose those that can help him achieve. It's not the " come and chop" government some of you guys are used to. I don't have to be a minister to be proud if Nigeria achieves.

If you refuse to groom the youth now, how are they going to be PERFECT leaders of tomorrow? Please, we need youths to take up the mantles of this nation, older ones have disappointed us greatly.

Shallow thinking and mentality.

FOLYKAZE:
This age nonsense just have to stop. Nigerians are not clamouring for age-showing competition but for positive change in our ministry. What matters most is experience and wisdom which comes with old age.

These Nominees are not going into the ministry to lift bag of cements. They are not going their to lift drum of oil with bare hands. They are going their for administrative task which has more to do with EXPERIENCE AND WISDOM which comes with the age. The constitution does give them support so what are the wailers crying for?

Who are the youths that would take ther places? Politics start from our home. Who choses a 20 years old boy to be the head of the family? Have there been any record like 30 years old guy been the head of the Family (Olori Ebi)? The answer is no because leadership has more to with experience and lot of wisdom. And to the family lines, tradition supports the old ones just like constitution is not against them here too.

And who are these Youth we are talking about here? Political Goverment of the Youth starts right in the tertiary institution. The SUG are compromised. Reports had it that a SUG president ran to a foreign country with the Union money. Just of recent, the SUG honors a Drug Lord who have a case round his neck with an award. Is this the same Youth we want to give ministerial post which wont compromise in the future?

Buhari has chosen his team. These are the people he believe can do the the job he desires and has employed them. We need to give the President space of doubt and see if his men would perform excellently. Afterall he will have the blame and tongue-lashes if they eventually fail. I think Buhari has seen the perfomance in them and with support from every Nigerians, they will sure deliver.

Well said.

he is right most of our young people today even the one up to 40 years of age still reason like teenagers. most on nairaland are only interested in making unreasonable comments online, going through people's profile picture, downloading of music's films and celebrity gossip, watching of online porns and and indulging in online dating.

Femi Adesina talking crap about mental & chronological age This statement lack objectivity, sincerity and the interest of the masses. Are these not the same old visionless generation that turn this country to what it is today !!! What do they do during their "mental age" ?? Is it when they are wearing pampers that they will now perform ?

I will like to agree with Femi's position on the age discuss as I am sure he may be drawing his reference from the age of our Head of Department in the 80s at English department, University of Ife named Prof. Bisi Afolayan who was older than the VC then but was one of the best English teachers ever existed in Nigerian universities if not in the entire Africa. Prof Afolayan didn't allow the young lecturers who were his Post Graduate students to handle the core subject of the department alone without being properly monitored. For instance, EGL 101, 102, 201 202, 301, 302, 401 and 402 titled Structures of Modern English. the above named courses are the foundation of English studies, even as Dean of the Faculty, Prof didn't allow just anybody to handle those courses in those days except his post graguate students who were undergoing academic training in those courses at the masters and doctorate levels and he was always in the class with them to be sure they were feeding us with the right message. Age doesn't really matter in what a man can do if he is mentally alert but what Nigerians are really quarreling with Mr. President about his nominees is the time he has wasted only to have ended up bringing the crop of recycled politicians and no new breed as he promised on the CHANGE mantra. But still one won't be surprised if those old politicians don't have grown up children who are qualified to be Ministers. Why must it be them and not their children or political followers as Nigerians would have expected.

A PACKAGE that grounded the economy for 5 months only to announce questionable characters as ministers...and still has halfway to go undecided.

One that announces himself as minister while overseas and comes back to the country to say he is only "supervising the ministry".

A retired general that has so far made no head way with Boko Haram.

One that only talks about how he will probe this and that but nothing to show for it. Meanwhile youths are losing their jobs everyday and jobless zombies like you have no hope of getting one.

One that was president of your grandfather and is now your president and yet you are there deceiving yourself that you are the leader of tomorrow.

I usually dont get into political arguments as i think ALL politicians are the same, but you my friend are a senseless political zombie so blind and gullible and will continue to be a menstrual rag for politicians.

Never knew I wasn't the only one pissed off by Femi's response, yesterday.
This is where you'll give it to Reuben and Doyin. These PMB's spokespersons are something else. Femi is even trying self, one wonders why Sheu talks less and yet he's Femi's senior. At the end, Femi gets all the insults for their oga's ineptitude.

It hurts that the youths ,that placed PMB on that sit are left behind and familiar rogues are given the mantles to lead....whatever happened to old people retiring and younger ones taking over.

Slavery mentality....what else will u write when at 30 you are still being fed by your parents. How old was Zuckerberg when he started fb?...how old was Serge when he started Google? Insanity is when a thirty year old and a forty year old man is hoping that his father will be the one to chart the course of his life...what change do u expect from those that are mentally weak? So much low self-esteem among Nigerian youths.

If Nigerian youths are saying age is not a factor, then there is no future for this nation. Reason for the revisit of evolution theory! What is wrong in being black? The youths are mentally enslaved! Wondering why the mistakes of the fathers are being repeated.

Niaraland is replete with the kinds of Youth you are talking about!
Young as far as "chronological age" is concerned but most of them are tribalistic, foolish, #Wialers for no reason and very corurpt.

I nominate "Bad-canister" as one of those YOUTHS!
