Slavery mentality....what else will u write when at 30 you are still being fed by your parents. How old was Zuckerberg when he started fb?...how old was Serge when he started Google? Insanity is when a thirty year old and a forty year old man is hoping that his father will be the one to chart the course of his life...what change do u expect from those that are mentally weak? So much low self-esteem among Nigerian youths.

How l wish that our Youths, who are still fighting Buharti because he has not nonored his promise to give them #5,000 monthly stipend (like they are some crippled Youths? ), still fighting Buhari because he has not provided them with a job, despite ensuring that there is improved power supply.... are like Zuckerberg who did not wait for the American President to "spoon-feed" him before using his brains to make a fortune for himself?

Those are Youths, not the lazy oafs that spew thrash on Niaraland, that we have over here!

Change is not just for the sake of "replacing one with another" ..... it is about "replacing one ....with a BETTER one".!

I will like to agree with Femi's position on the age discuss as I am sure he may be drawing his reference inference from the age of our Head of Department in the 80s at English department, University of Ife named Prof. Bisi Afolayan who was older than the VC then but was one of the best English teachers ever existed to ever exist in Nigerian universities if not in the entire Africa. Prof Afolayan didn't allow the young lecturers who were his Post Graduate studentsc,c to handle the core subject (s) ) of the department alone without being properly monitored. For instance, EGL 101, 102, 201 202, 301, 302, 401 and 402 titled Structures of Modern English. the above named courses are the foundation of English studies, even as Dean of the Faculty, Prof didn't allow just anybody to handle those courses in those days except his post graguate students who were undergoing academic training in those courses at the masters and doctorate levels and he was always in the class with them to be sure they were feeding us with the right message. Age doesn't really matter in what a man can do if he is mentally alert but what Nigerians are really quarreling with Mr. President about his over, is his nominees is the time he has wasted only to have ended end up bringing the se crop of recycled politicians and no new breed as he promised on the CHANGE mantra. But still one won't be surprised if those old politicians don't have grown up children who are qualified to be Ministers. Why must it be them and not their children or political followers as Nigerians would have expected.

Ministerial Post is what youth should get involve in so that they would be able to start their own family or become self sustainable? You are even painting it as an avenue to loot for a better life.

Those you listed up there are not politician fool. They are enterpreneur with creative and innovative mind. They are into business and become self sustained in it. Millions of people out there are making money without looking into political office like you are telling us here.

Political office like Ministerial post is not a get rich avenue or self sustaining adventure.
I am not ready to engage words with you.

Freemanan:
The recent comments by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Mr. President, Mr. Femi Adesina, on Buhari not going to be appointed minister of petroleum and also, age not being a yardstick for measuring performance in governance on the side of the ministerial nominees has sparked off criticisms from Nigerians who have not taken such statements like a pat on the shoulders.

Femi Adesina had said, while fielding questions on Channels that, “These people who have been nominated are qualified and are Nigerians. Talking of age, there is a saying that “age does not matter. It does not mind, if you don’t mind it.” I don’t think that age is an issue.

And talking of age, you should rather talk about mental and chronological age. If you have a chronological age of 30, which makes you a youth, and mental age is not at par, what do we gain? Nothing.”

“And you may have a chronological age of 68, which is the age of the oldest of the nominees, if that nominee now has a mental age of 15 or 20, what do we gain? We must rather talk of the mental age rather than the chronological age. It is not the chronological age that matters as long as that person has what he is bringing to the table.” He said. Here are tweets on how Nigerians responded to his statements below:

Lastpage, thanks for your observation. I'm not a bad user of English language both in writing and oral, it is just that when one is on social media, a lot of serious grammatical and lexical errors are committed with careless abandone. All the same, I will be more careful in future. I truly appreciate your style and maturity in putting me aright. More of such will be appreciated. Thanks.

I think the issue of age and mental alertness are two conflicting issues. President Buhari himself confessed that his age couldn't allow him to perform as he would have expected. An aged man who is not mentally alert will end up a failed leader. Time will tell. I'm just concerned about Femi Adesina's reputation in the post-Buhari's administration. If he fails, Femi and others will share in the blame but our prayer is that he succeeds, at least because of our friends like Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu. Interestingly, Nigerians are still patient and hoping that all will be well soon. If they are disappointed, it will not only end up a disappointment but reactionary effect will be unprecedented. God help our country and its leader, PMB.
