Hi Justwise

Thanks for answering my questions. Please do you think we will need a lawyer for the appeal has is a low case one. I contacted two today one says they will charge £1,500 and the other said £1,800. Please can you advice me or if you can recommend a good one for me. God bless

You don't need a lawyer for the appeal, apart from getting all the documents together you will only need to write and appeal statement...

The statement is basically addressing each refusal point and nothing else. Just point out areas you think the ECO got it wrong that is all.

£910 per month? shocked shocked shocked Too much oooo

Bet why... undecided

It's a private accommodation and I know it's too expensive.

Finlake apartment at finlake.co.uk

London monthly maintenance money for foreign students is £1020, the 910 you paid for accommodation is over the top.

So budget additional £800 per month for other expenses...feeding, transport etc since the accommodation is paid already

Thank you so much

The accommodation is actually my choice,it's a private accommodation finlake.co.uk

Invitation letter is secondary, first you need to get prepared with her documents and yours which is primary.

Do you have a paid employment or own a business?
How much is your Monthly salary?
How much do you have in your account?
How much will this trip cost you?
How long are you staying?

Your answers will help the house assess your application.

Thanks for your response.

Hi, I applied for a 6months visiting visiting visa to attend my graduation in November. I have being studying at the Uk since 2012 but came back few days before my visa expiration. I submitted my application at the Ikeja office at 3pm on 7th of October and received this message on 12th of October.
Dear ******************

A decision has been made on your UK visa application. Your application will be despatched within 48 hrs. If anyone contacts you advising that your application is still under consideration or that they can influence the outcome of your application in any way, please disregard as they cannot. You should not expect to receive any further notification from this office.

Kind regards,

Lagos Visa Section

Please what does this signify? And also considering the processing time which is shorter than expected (3 working days excluding weekends). I don't know if it means refusal.

Section 4: documents you should not send unless
specifically requested
This page provides guidance on the types of documents that are not required to
consider your application.
 if you are applying as a family/group you do not need to provide multiple copies
of the same documents
 bank statements or letters issued more than 1 year before the date of
application
 driving licence
 photographs (other than passport photographs required in section 1)
 notarial certificates
 business cards
 hotel bookings
 flight bookings
 photocopies of bank cards
 credit card statements
 certificates relating to leisure activities

Pls, does it mean we don't need to send in HOTEL BOOKINGS with our applications?

Tax clearance certificate is important because it's used to evaluate your company. No point cancelling your appointment since you've already made payment which is not refundable.

The combination of both salaries are good and as long as you don't spend more than two months of both salaries your chances are good.

@ justwise, OGreene, FrontpageLawyer just had a denial on my Settlement Visa application though still appealing the decision and already had an MP intervention on the issue.

My 6months visiting visa expired in May 2015 and i applied for settlement in July but was denied last week and I have been in and out of the UK.

Can I procced to apply for another 6months visiting visa whilst having an appeal of the settlement still pending.

I have 2kids and my wife all based there and wanna spend Xmas with the family as I always do

Good day,
Please I'm planning to apply for UK Visa but I will like to know what chance someone who has worked for 1.5years with a company but has left the company. But due to the company's policy (some bank's policy on staff account), I can no longer use the salary account upon resignation from the company. So I want to know do I have to wait until after six months in my present company or I can apply with the old salary account (closed) along side my new salary account?

Please I need the gurus in this house to respond, I would really appreciate

Your husband must have his statement of account and yours in his own application since you're sponsoring him.

Then you should have yours alone in your application.

Good luck

Both applications should have your marriage certificate, since you're applying together, the ECO will understand the reason for the photocopy.

Please note that it is important you submit all your original documents including your work ID cards.

The UK visa requirement for Proof of finances is a Bank statement or pay slips covering a 6 months period.

Hello Justwise

I need advice on a visa refusal. My husband got his passport today and he is been refused on the following grounds:
We first met on 10/04/2012 and started the relationship in August 2012 and got married on 06/08/2014
We used calling cards as evidence of communication but the calling cards have no names and they aware that cards are readily available in Ghana to purchase as second hand. There is no itemised telephone records so they not satisfied.
The photographs provided are of our wedding day with a few on different occasions. However it appears that these photographs were all taken during the same visit by your sponsor. So therefore am not satisfied. Furthermore there is no evidence that your sponsor has been to visit you after the marriage on August 2014. Am not satisfied that your relationship is genuine and subsisting or that you intend to live together permanently in the UK.

Those are the reasons. Please advice me on what to do? Should I do the appeal or what? And If I do, and add extra supporting documents as I went to Ghana last month as a prove, do we have a chance ? Do I need to get a lawyer? Any suggestions on the platform will be appreciated. Thank you

Did you submit email and whatsapp communication last time you applied?
