He didnt see the Boulevard. Where?

He didnt see the Afro Tropicana Uncompleted

He didnt see the E-Library Useless. Poor people of akwa ibom have to pay toll to use it.

He didnt see the world Class Stadium A non FIFA rated football field. No basketball court, no vollyball court, no boxing court, no swimming pool, no tennis...nothing, just a football field. And when was the last time it was used since commissioning. It's a waste and gross white elephant.

He didnt see the World Class Roads. Just a few new roads in UYO.

He didnt see the Bridges Flyover and 1 bridge.

How sad that with the richest state in Nigeria, all you are able to list are less than projects.

The shame you listed cost the people of akwa ibom wasted 8 years and the largest budgets in Nigeria

No new Hospitals - Fayemi built a new 300 bed hospital in less than 4 years while akpabio did not build 1.

NO health centers

No new schools

No water works

No skills centers

Godswill Akpabio embarrassed by heckling in the Senate!

The Senate Minority Leader and former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, who recently flew to London for treatment following a road traffic accident, was questioning Osagie Enahire during the Senate’s ministerial confirmation hearings.

As Enahire is a surgeon, the assumption was that he would be appointed Minister of Health. So Akpabio said: “I was privileged to build the biggest hospital in West Africa”. This was meant to be the preamble before he asked a question about recruitment of medical staff.

Before Akpabio could get to the relevant part of his question, a fellow senator heckled several times: “But you went abroad for treatment”.

Nor be my eloquence

Ekiti has more than enough eloquent Professors. Fayemi is just a common Doctorate holder. There is nothing "special" about his speech. Just the same regular guy that killed Ekiti

This is one politician I love but I must say that if this was his response to the question then I am so disappointed. Is he saying that he didn't take into consideration his state's monthly income and that of Akwa Ibom. This is just like saying a man whose monthly or yearly income of 200k building a house of 3m because he saw his colleague whose income is 7m having that structure.
U too didn't take consideration that he's learned enough to know that akwa ibom collect higher allocation to that of ekiti state...bro him building that govt house with 2billion+ wasn't based on d state allocation alone..a from ekiti so I supported the building of the govt house. For me fayemi better fayose in governance

How do you as a former state governor who presided over the richests state in Nigeria boast or say anything about any hospital when after 8 years in office you refused to build 1 single hospital but instead deceived your own people with 1 empty building labeled hospital, then flew in a private jet to london just for a common leg bandage?

He didn't say he was inspired by Akwa Ibom government house.

He said when he visited Akwa Ibom and Kaduna state government houses of recent and saw what was on ground he was wowed.

Meaning he did nothing wrong in building a befitting government house.Because according to him, he met a two bedroom government house where he couldn't hold cabinet meetings.

P.S: Fayemi is too sound. I watched in awe. Wow!!!

* Defends how he governed Ekiti

* Says I never purchased a bed for N50m

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday, debunked reports that he ran the economy of his state aground, while he served as governor.
Fayemi, one of the 10 ministerial nominees currently being screened by the Senate today, said he governed Ekiti with transparency and accountability.

Responding to a thought-provoking question asked him by Sen. Olusola Adeyeye (APC Osun Central) to clarify newspaper reports that he left Ekiti in debt, that he spent too much money on the Ekiti Govt House, Fayemi said they were all rumours, stating that the government house was built with just N2.5 billion.

The ex-governor said being one of the youngest states in Nigeria, without a government house for 19 years, the magnificent Government House he saw in Akwa Ibom, when he visited former Governor Godswill Akpabio, enticed him to embark on the project to give Ekiti State, a befitting Government House.

Fayemi added that the controversial N50 million bed in the government house wasn’t purchased at that price.

According to him, none of the beds in the government house cost above N1.5 million.

We saw copies of the invoices for that 50m bed.
Why then did he refuse to disclose the 'actual' cost of the bed?

His claim about the Akwa Ibom govt house is laughable.
Is Ekiti's revenue same as Akwa Ibom? It's like a poor primary school teacher
borrowing to buy a Rolex wrist watch just because he saw Dangote wearing one
Very useless man,he did it all to the detriment of workers salaries, demoting and sacking many unjustly,no student bursary amongst others, who is he fooling....himself!

I hope you people shouting Ekiti here and Fayemi there had opportunity to live in Ekiti under Fayemi's government, all towns are well connected with good roads and tap water ran regularly in hundreds of towns in Ekiti. Akwa ibom house he referred to was built with over 15 billion naira. Ekiti is not as poor as you people have been insinuating in NL, there lot of cheap food, cash crop and according to UN the state is one of the best in term of life expectancy, and other good rating in every sphere. how many state s can boast of tap water with distributing in all streets' junctions of all towns for public. I have visited and live in many states only Osun, Lagos and Anambra to some extent can compare very well in terms of infrastructures that support ordinary citizens residing in every corner of the state. Fayemi tried for Ekiti but it's very difficult to satisfy Ekitikete.

That means there were several beds that cost about N1.5m each !!!!

But N1.5 for one bed is still too much for one of the poorest states like Ekiti.!!! Haba

You purchase a complete set of 2+3+ 2 single seater imported Italian settee plus an 8 chair dining set for that amount. Go to Bedmate and check the price.

I respect ex-Gov Fayemi, and I believe he was a prudent man. But allowing for these kind of costs for procured government furniture is too much.

Can't all these government officials do their work without using pricy cars, pricy furniture, pricey hotels, etc.
Haba!! Our leaders are just sucking us dry and killing us in this country.
