I think the guy is underrated...he does not do 4 films in a week like some people do.
His movies are usually well directed with good cinematography & graphics no doubt, but their storylines are wack. Especially October 1st.

He spends money and invested more in movies that he produce knowingly to him, he will gain in folds accompanied with a global recognition not some low quality Nollywood or Yoruba movies that you end up sleeping when the movie has just begun cos it practically do not have a new story to tell and reduces IQ. Thank you for setting a standard Aremu

Strongly believe movie produce would soon begin to reap the fruit of their labor cos's in less than 3weeks most of these guys at Alaba would be running in their hundreds to jail.
Due to the weakness of the former C-in C the policy on piracy could not be implemented. The table is about to turn.

Talking of Figurine, October 1st & co, methinks this guy's movies are overhyped.
haba appreciate good work when you see one, dude spent roughly 2 million dollars to make October 1st....if you got quality on the table people would invest in you, he single highhandedly woke alot of nollywood directors to leave their comfort zone, am waiting for this movie

It wasn't but it was kinda predictable. He made it obvious who the killer was, some inaccuracies too. But the film made me sit down to think after....something most Nigerian films lack. Realism wink

Haters will always be haters.... undecided

Please what movie have you directed or done? You think it's easy doing something out of the box especially here in Nigeria where people like you fail to appreciate peoples hard work when they do something different.

Nigerians sha what do you guys want? Do you expect him to turn to Joss Whedon overnight or what? Smh

Please when you come up with a good storyline, that's not boring. Then you can come up here to give your own constructive criticism like a mature human being.

even joss whedon was insulted and criticized for his poor writing of the avengers,

EVEN JAMES CAMEROON. who made the titanic and avatar, the two top grossing movies of all time, was criticized for having "wack" storylines.

Goes to show you that haters are everywhere and don't necessarily mean you're not Good enough.

Actually, when it comes to "quantity", cheap and highly substandard Nollywood movies, you just can't help but give it to the Fl@theads...I learnt those Niggers can shoot a movie in less than a week. They also release about 50 movies in a month... grin

On the other hand, when it comes to qualitative, high-standard, world-class Nollywood movies, the likes of Kunle Afolayan and Tunde Kelani come to mind.

These guys release movies once in a while after giving their best shots in their respective productions.

If only the "entrepreneurial", flatheaded businessmen in Alaba and Idumota would let them enjoy the fruits of their labour to the fullest...
