Liverpool midfielder James Milner insists new manager Jurgen Klopp needs time to build the Merseyside club.

Liverpool ran Tottenham off the park as they played out an encouraging goalless draw at White Hart Lane.

It took Jurgen Klopp three years to win the Bundesliga title at Borussia Dortmund and Milner urges the Liverpool supportes to be patient.

"So much has gone on in these few days. It has been tough for the manager. It's been a whirlwind for him coming into English football and there is the expectation and pressure on him and the team," Milner told the Liverpool Echo.

"He is coming to try to get his ideas over and it will take time. He has said he can only feed us so much as he cannot change everything.

"It will take a few months to see exactly what he wants but it is a positive start, although there have been a few injuries, which is really disappointing. But you saw that in the team and on the bench, there is still a lot of quality."

Liverpool has not won the league title in 25 years and Klopp would be looking to break the jinx in few years time.
