Amaechi has done alot to bring changes to our democracy.

16 Years of PDP in power, what are their achievement. Amaechi end it all and they are angry for that. Simple.
You are indicting Amaechi by your comment. Amaechi was

- Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly from 1999-2007: 8Years PDP
- Governor, Rivers State 2007 - 2014: 7 years PDP

So of the 16 years PDP ruled Amaechi was in power for 15 of those years. What are his achievements? Apart from looting Rivers to coma name one thing he as achieved? He owed 2012 corpers state Allawee, killed many pensioners, failed monorail project. For christsake Fashola built a bridge in the middle of the Lagoon. Amaechi with all the federal allocation could not complete a single rail track.

This is the main difference between northern and southern politicians, while northern politicians collapse their personal interest into a single group interest in order to acquire and retain power, southern politicians - especially the southeastern ones destroy their group interest on the alter of personal interest, vendetta, hatred and jealously. Amaechi is one of the most influential south south or Igbo politician today, he was the most influential governor in the last dispensation and he is one of the closest person to the president. Instead of Igbos and south south Igbos generally to leverage on this influence, they are desperate to destroy the most influential politician of Igbo extraction, just because he was instrumental to the defeat of their hero at the polls.
Even the Ijaws have move on and are positioning themselves in positions of influence in the new administration. Jonathan himself has been reaching out to political adversaries like OBJ to make peace. I won't even be surprised if Jonathan makes peace with Amaechi. One can understand Wike's grouse with Amaechi, but what is beyond comprehension is Igbos anger with him. It is ironic that the Igbos support and demonstrated for Saraki ( a yoruba -fulani man, but wants Amaechi skinned alive. Tomorrow the same people will come out and complain that Hausa fulanis are dominated the political space.

Even if Amaechi is confirmed, he might be antagonistic towards the interest of the Igbos because of the hatred shown by them, and if he is not confirmed, the ministerial slot might be given to an inconsequential politician.

In politics there is no permanent friends or enemies, only permanent interests.
Antagonistic Towards the interest of the igbos?
Were you dropped on your head by your mother?
When did Rivers senators and governor became representative of igbo? I am sure you would love it if buhari fought against igbo interest.

The foolly of the 8th Senate has been laid bare today by the escort provided for Saraki by 84 Senators of the Federal Repbulic of Nigeria. Now, state functions at the senate have been dashed for the sake of a man whose integrity is being questioned. It is tantamount to saying that the Legislative arm has been grounded because of a man to the detriment of over 170 million Nigerian. Ministerial confirmation which is to set the nation on a working path is been stopped because Saraki is being questioned for corruption. Is there no Senate President? Is the senate about Saraki or Nigerians? Come on, the Senate is a huge joke! How do hold hostage a nation because of a man? The senate is actually out to sabotage the anti-corruption campaign - in reality. The Senate is the conglomaration of cabals who have held us hostage social-politically as well economically.

It's high time U braze the truth! stop turning blind eye to the allegations levelled against him. That he worked does not say he should not be accountable for the misappropriation of funds. The earlier U encourage him to humble himself and answer, the better!

The question you should be asking is why is Wike and PDP so desperate in thwarting the ministerial appointment of Amaechi as though the survival of the party depends on it?

If he was not nominated as minister, the same PDP would castigate Buhari for being ungrateful and using a traitor to achieve his aims and dumping him, and would make a jest of Amaechi, calling him use and dump.

This is what I knw 4 sure, d delay in Amaechi's screening is connected to Saraki's trial.

Amaechi will eventually be used to force d Presidency to intervene in Saraki's trial, & make sure he retains his seat as d SP.

Amaechi's screening has gone beyond whether Wike wants him to become a minister or not.

While I have no doubt dat Amaechi will eventually be confirmed as a Minister, I must state dat it will be very
tough 4 him.

But just like d meaning of his name in Yoruba; Oluwa-Rotimi-meaning 'God stands firm with me'. If his God is indeed with him he will become a Minister. because I knw 4 sure dat except God builds a house, d builder buildeth in vain.

Please of what. Interest is Ameachi's influence to his people @ the moment? His ambition is selfish and counter productive to the state as he would use the position to fight the sitting Gov thereby de railing development and peace in Rivers state n. South-south in general please look @ from that point of view. We ve an adage that dia can not be a new wrestling champion unless the living one dies.
